OFFSHORE
Recent Offshore Experience
VEPICA’s off-shore experience started in 1986. Some recent
experiences include the following projects:
- Basic and detailed engineering, quality assurance and quality control
(QA/QC) of the construction and fabrication, non destructive testing,
and project management services (PMS) for the Corocoro Project,
consisting of a well head platform (WHP), an accommodation
platform (AP), and a fully equipped floating production unit (FPU)
to handle and treat 60,000 bbl/d crude oil, 32 million sft3/d gas for
re-injection , 5 million sft3/d gas lift, and 90.000 bbl/d of water for
re-injection in the Gulf of Paria, Venezuela, for ConocoPhillips and
PDVSA – 2003- 2009.
- Integrated services for water injection for secondary recovery oil
production at lake Maracaibo including: EPC of 3 new water injection
platforms, revamp and overhaul of 15 existing water injection
platforms, operation and maintenance of the water injection system
covering treatment and injection of up to 600.000 bpd. Maraven
–PDVSA (1997-2009).
- Conceptual and basic engineering, and class III cost estimation for
the inland and off-shore facilities of the Guajira Association Contract
Extension (GACE) Project, in the Guajira Peninsula, Colombia, for
ECOPETROL / ChevronTexaco - 2005.
- Basic engineering to increase the gas production capacity from 575
to 1,000 million sft3/d in the existing facilities (2 off-shore platforms
Chuchupa “A” and “B”, and an inland main station) to incorporate
new production wells, in the Guajira Peninsula, Colombia, for
ECOPETROL / ChevronTexaco - 2004.

- Basic engineering for the extension of the gas lift system (GLEA) to
increase the production capacity of the off-shore Main Production

- Basic and detailed engineering for the modernization of the inland
oil production facilities (Flow Station EF-20 and Z-10 in Boscan Field)
and off-shore (Flow Station EF-LL-77 and LL-652), in Lake Maracaibo,

thermoelectric power plant to be built in El Sitio - Termocentro
Generating Complex by Duro Felguera (Spain) for Electricidad de
Caracas – EDC, Venezuela, 2010 / 2012.
- Basic engineering, detailed engineering and construction supervision
of a 170 MW single cycle thermoelectric power plant at La Raisa
Generating Complex for CORPOELEC, Electricidad de Caracas.
Venezuela, 2010/2011.
- Basic engineering, detailed engineering and construction supervision
of a 170 MW single cycle thermoelectric power plant at Juan Bautista
Arismendi Generating Complex for CORPOELEC, Electricidad de
Caracas. Isal de Maragarita. Venezuela, 2010/2011
- EPC of the interconnections, utilities and off-sites of two Floating
Power Plants of 170 MW each, to be located in the Tacoa Generating
Complex for CORPOELEC Electricidad de Caracas, Venezuela,
2010/2011.
- Basic engineering of the utilities, off-sites and Balance of Plant (BOP)
required for the operation of two SIEMENS 501F gas turbo-generators
of 150 MW each, to be built by HW Group for CORPOELEC, in San
