The existing facility does not use modular buildings. The structure consists of load-bearing masonry walls and concrete floors and roof. The roof system is a built-up type and is in need of replacement. The facility has a serving kitchen for heating and storing food and the limited existing equipment needs to be replaced. The building has a multi-purpose room serving as a gym and auditorium. The remaining portion of the building is primarily classrooms with a small administrative office area and teacher’s lounge and storage. Heating is provided by perimeter convection units and there is no air conditioning at most of the facility. The classrooms are slightly less than the size standards of the OSDM. There is a general building security system that consists of motion detectors and is inadequate. There is no general building automatic fire alarm system. There is no building fire supression system. The facility is inaccessible to the handicapped with no ADA compliant fixtures. The site is inadequate in size, is generally flat, has adequate drainage, a deteriorated asphalt paved parking area, and no playground/athletic facilities. Traffic and pedestrian lanes are not separated, school buses have a dedicated place for loading and unloading on the north side of the school.
