We’ve put together a bunch of packages
and passes. Everything is pre-booked and
organised for you, making your adventure
really easy. You’ll bump into folks you’ve
already met as they journey along their
similar itineraries.

this is not for you
Accommodation is not in luxury resorts,
but in basic to standard properties set in
stunning locations. You’ll mix and mingle
with the locals whose home it is. the resorts
are not owned by Awesome Adventures
and standards vary from property to property
and week to week but we do monitor them
and we have our own staff moving around
all the time to try to ensure everything is
as it should be.

One of life’s necessities and
great pleasures.
We’ve included meals in the packages (except
where stated) because eating at the resort
you’re staying in is the only choice – there are
no restaurants around the corner. Meals are
served at specific times of the day e.g.
breakfast 8am – 9am. this provides an
opportunity to check out the talent – sorry, we
mean meet fellow travellers. Meals are simple
and filling. We recommend vegetarians inform
the resort on arrival. And of course there are
always bananas and pawpaw.
Yasawa Trust Foundation
Awesome Adventures has an amazing partnership
with the people of the Yasawas. Most of the
dollars you spend with us end up with them but
in addition we have established the Yasawa Trust
Foundation which is run by an independent
volunteer board to assess and help fund
worthwhile community projects. $10 of every bula
Pass and Package booking (four days or more)
goes directly to the Foundation.
Examples of good works:
Undertaking of infrastructural projects like
the new ablution block at the primary school on
Matacawalevu. Placement of voluntourists within
the Yasawa villages so that they can be employed
in tourism or other areas of need in the Region.

to the many bays and islands where resorts

‘Paradise’ – we know the word gets used pretty
loosely but if it is appropriate for anywhere, it’s Fiji.
there are over 300 Islands set in crystal clear waters
with palm fringed white sandy beaches, lagoons, coral
reefs and idyllic places to stay. “Bula” – you’ll hear it all
the time, it epitomises the warm, friendly outgoing
nature of the Fijian people.
Relaxation is big in Fiji but if you’re in the mood there
are an incredible number of activities – white water
rafting, trekking in rainforests, amazing snorkelling
and diving, local villages to visit, surfing and even
swimming with manta rays (seasonal).
Fiji offers a diverse cultural experience with the Fijian
and Indo-Fijian people – their food, their outlook and
differing lifestyles. From remote island villages to the
capital suva (still with its colonial feel) Fiji will
provide an endless string of wondrous experiences.
one of the most stunning regions is the remote
Yasawa Islands group consisting of a chain of 20
ancient volcanic islands. Four of these islands have
dramatic elevations with summits just short of 600
metres above sea level. the pristine white sandy
beaches and dramatic monoliths surrounded by
crystal clear lagoons provide a beautiful environment
in which to relax or enjoy the many activities on offer.

‘Full Monty’ Featured Activities
You know how it is when there is something just so good you gotta have it. Well we think these are the
“must do” activities in the places we go. To make it easy for you and assure you of a place on these
great activities we have put them into what we call the ‘FULL MONTY’ - they are that package PLUS
all the nominated activities or upgrades. Many of the activities are included at special prices. So for
a doubly awesome time book the ‘FULL MONTY’ version of your chosen package.
SEASPRAY DAY SAILING ADvENTURE
A special day aboard ‘Seaspray’ sailing amongst the outer Mamanuca Islands. Enjoy the crystal
clear water for snorkelling and swimming, a traditional Fijian village visit and Kava ceremony
(except Sunday). Visit the island featured in the Tom Hanks movie ‘Castaway’. All booze, morning/
afternoon tea and a barbecue lunch is included. It’s a stunner.
LEARN TO DIvE AND CERTIFIED DIvING
Where better to learn to dive than in the sparkling clear, warm tropical waters of Fiji?
The coral and fish life you’ll see is unreal. All the dive companies we use are certified,
experienced and know all the best places to go. If you are already qualified let them
show you the many stunning dive sites scattered around the Mamanucas and the
Yasawas.
SAWAILAU CAvES TRIP
The boat trip up to the caves is worth doing for its own sake but then there’s the magical
experience of the caves themselves. No diving is required to enter the main cavern as it’s just a few
easy steps. but we do recommend you take the option to enter the secondary cavern where you
need to swim through an underwater tunnel. It’s all a little bit spooky but the guides will look after
you and it is ‘awesome’.
REEF SNORKELLING / SHARK vIEWING TRIP
Moua Reef is only a short boat ride from the white sandy beaches of Kuata and Waya
Lailai Islands. A spectacular site from above and below the water with an abundance
of colourful fish and beautiful corals. This outer reef is home to some “friendly” reef
sharks, they are harmless so no need to worry! Your local guides hand feed the sharks
creating awesome underwater photo opportunities and gets the adrenalin pumping.

ACCOMMOdATION
Share twin and double rooms are called bures,
a traditional name for a home with a thatched
roof. Not all properties have hot water, but
the local water supply is tepid. Properties
have generators, so you’ll have electricity from
sunset ‘til midnight. The local power socket
is the same as for Australia and New Zealand.
Most beds have mosquito nets, and we always
recommend bringing along insect repellent!
Where you stay / RIGHT TO
SUBSTITUTE PROPERTIES
The places where you’ll stay are mainly
quite small so it is difficult to always
provide you with a specified property.
If we specify particular properties that
means they are the ones we use most
of the time, bUT... there aren’t any
computerised booking systems in the
Yasawas, there are radio telephones.
So on all packages (except the ‘Island
Stayputs’) we reserve the right to put you
in another property. It will be of a similar
standard and you’ll have just as good a
time. Occasionally we may even have to
swap the order of the nights round or put
you on a different island but in all cases
we’ll provide you with a similar experience.
That’s just the way it is when you “go local”
in the Yasawa Islands.
BOOkING ExTRA NIGHTS
If you’re already staying at an island/resort on
your package itinerary add as many extra nights
as you like. The prices are shown in the ‘Island
Stayputs’ section of the price pages. If you want
to add another island/resort that is not included
in your package itinerary additional transfer
charges may apply. See your agent for details.
WHAT IS A FULL
MONTY PACkAGE?
The best activities on offer that most people
choose to do while in the Yasawas. Our ‘Full Monty’
Option is the same boat / bed / Meals deal PLUS
these activities, and many are included at a special
price. See page 4.
PACkAGES OR
BULA PASSES?
The easy way - choose one of our great packages
combining the transfers, accommodation, meals
and key activities and you will save a great deal
of time and hassle. If however you are happy to
sort it all yourself the 7, 14 and 21 day passes offer
unlimited travel within the Yasawa Islands.

OPEN dATEd BOOkINGS
We know sometimes you are leaving home a long
way ahead of getting to paradise and plans can
change, so all packages and the passes can be
booked on an open dated basis. All you need to do
is confirm your arrival date and starting date with
Awesome Adventures at least 14 days prior to your
arrival in Fiji. Leave it any later and we’ll still get you
in, but a few changes may be needed.
SUNdAYS
Sunday is a day of rest and church going in the
Yasawas. This means that conducted activities are
not on offer however you are free to do activities
on your own. In most villages you will be welcome
to join the church service - an amazing experience.
MONEY
Credit cards and travellers cheques can be used on
some islands but not all. If you’re on an Awesome
Adventures Fiji package between FJ$25-$35 cash
per day should be enough. For those passengers
using the ‘bula Pass’ accommodation prices
are between FJ$70 -$110 per night for a dorm
(including 3 meals) or FJ$80 -$200 per person per
night for a share twin/double bure
(including 3 meals).

The bank at the airport is open 24 hours.
Cash machines are available in Nadi and
there are two at Denarau Marina. The
currency is the Fijian dollar. be warned - it’s a
long way back from the Yasawas if you run
out of cash!

The Awesome Adventures vessel ‘Yasawa
Flyer’, a high speed, modern catamaran,
departs Denarau Marina at 8:30am daily
for all Yasawa destinations. It returns daily
at 5:45pm. South Sea Island, bounty and
beachcomber are also serviced on this run.
Additional departures to these and other
Mamanuca properties are also available at
9:00am, 12:15pm and 3:15pm on board
South Sea Cruises’ vessels. See map inside
front cover for island and resort locations.

We are very happy to pick you up the day of
departure for the transfer to Denarau Marina.
If you don’t book your Nadi accommodation
through us you have to advise us where you
are staying. If you don’t advise us, getting to
the marina on time is your responsibility and
at your cost.

As mentioned the properties you are staying in
are not owned by us however we do monitor
standards and we do care if things are not
right. Please speak to the resort’s receptionist
or manager first. If the problem is not resolved
to your satisfaction then please call us. If there
is a problem with your itinerary or travel
arrangements then please see the girls at the
Travel Desk on the ‘Yasawa Flyer’ or call us. The
Awesome phone number is 675 0499 and it is
staffed from 7am to 8pm every day.

is available. As the daily capacity is
limited we recommend you book in advance.

Take the hassle out of arriving in Fiji
Avoid the airport touts and the chance of ending
up in poor quality accommodation by purchasing
our Welcome Pack. You’ll be met at the airport
and transferred to one of the great properties listed
below. If you have a preference where you’d like to
stay let us know and we’ll do our best to get you in
there. If it’s not available we’ll book you into one of
the others. they are all good. As these properties
are often busy we recommend you also book your
accommodation for when you return from the
Yasawas, prior to departing Fiji.

Board the ‘Yasawa Flyer’ just before midday
for a short transfer to the stunning Blue
Lagoon region – scene of the famous
Brooke shields movie. Enjoy the island
walks, magnificent beaches and coral. Hit
the beach at sunset and watch for the
flying fish.

Go snorkelling in the Blue Lagoon or
enjoy a fantastic trip to the sawailau Caves
where a short underwater swim takes you
into the surreal underground cavern. the
rest of the day is yours to chill.

Jump in and enjoy some of the best
snorkelling and diving, colourful corals
and abundance of marine life just off the
beach! the elevated bar on the hillside

We all know that the real reason to go to

pristine white sandy beaches set the scene
for a wonderful couple of days exploring
and relaxing.

Laze the day away until your mid afternoon
transfer to fabulous south sea or Bounty
Islands. they may be small but they’re big on
character - some of the best coral reef areas
for snorkelling and diving that you’ll see

the Wild Side
Day 1
Just 30 minutes cruise away is the
renowned Beachcomber Resort – a
small island with a white sandy beach
surrounded by crystal clear waters and a
marine sanctuary. the resort has a great
atmosphere with the huge traditional
bar and dining areas complete with
sand floor. Everything is a feature at
Beachcomber – the warm welcome, the
meals, the entertainment and the parties.

Day 2
the sun could be extra bright today – if
so maybe hit the hammock after that
big buffet breakfast! If not why not enjoy
some watersports, go snorkelling or on a
fish feeding trip. It’s your choice – active
or slothful this is still some place to be.

If you have got all the time in the world this is
the perfect way to explore the idyllic Yasawa
Islands with a 7, 14 or 21 day unlimited
island hopping pass on board the vessel
‘Yasawa Flyer’. There are 12 islands in the chain
of 20 that have accommodation on them.
There are some 32 island resorts operated
by villagers dotted throughout the islands.
They vary in standard, setting, style and the
attractions the local area offers but they all
have one thing in common - hospitality in that
warm, genuine way unique to Fiji. The bula
Pass offers the freedom to explore the Yasawas
as you choose. The bula Pass can also be used
to explore the Mamanuca Islands on South Sea
Cruises’ vessels.
How the pass works:
n Your pass is valid for one return journey
from Denarau Marina to the Yasawas and the
Mamanucas then hops between resorts and
islands (one ‘hop’ per day) for the consecutive
number of days designated. The pass is valid
from the first day it is used until the 7th, 14th
or 21st day thereafter.
n Whilst all travel is paid for, reservations must
still be made for all transfers at least 24 hours prior
and accommodation MUST be booked before

snorkelling on inner reef sites and to a different
area of Whitehaven beach - Hill Inlet. Take the walk
to the lookout for the spectacular view over the
white silica sands and river inlet. buffet style lunch.
Day 6
Maybe today you’d just like to chill in a beach
hammock, read a good book, take a dip in the pool
or play a game of tennis. Long Island also has some
