exclusively in the design and manufacture of made-to-order, fine quality furniture. American Leather markets a broad variety of styles
worldwide, sold through a network of independent retailers to discriminating customers who value selection, style, quality and comfort, combined with quick delivery. American Leather has increased their facility from 40,000-sq. ft., just five years ago, to the current size of their
new factory of 250,000-sq. ft. Extensive capital investments in
machinery and equipment were made to maintain a short manufacturing cycle and a production schedule of over three hundred pieces a day.
"Since the majority of our production equipment is dependent on
compressed air, the new air system for the factory had to be dependable, cost effective, unaffected by corrosion, and easily expandable. We
chose Transair for the compressed air piping to fill these needs.
Because of it's light weight, longer joints of pipe could be handled easily and installation could be completed more quickly than with conventional copper or galvanized iron pipe. Being a modular system, our
Maintenance Staff can do changes and upgrades to the factory piping
quickly, and almost all parts can be reused. The system was designed
to use only one diameter of pipe thereby reducing the number of parts
we needed to stock for changes or upgrades. We have also received
several positive comments about the blue color. We found no issues in
quality. After installing just under 6000 feet of pipe, we found only
three small leaks, requiring only a simple "reseat" of the connection to
fix. Our system has only been in operation a short time, but we are
looking forward to a continued future with Transair." Comments

The first installation of the new Transair 4" diameter piping system
in North America is up and fully operational. The pipe system was
specified for a newly constructed woodworking facility near
Cleveland, OH. Over 1000 feet of 4" Stainless Steel Transair pipe
was used to construct the main loop, and various smaller sizes and
Transair accessories were easily incorporated to complete the air system. The ease of assembly and minimal weight of the 4" system
once again catapults Transair to the head of the class in reducing
labor and overall installation cost while providing a high-quality,
effective product. The installers found that the system went together surprisingly faster than even Transair had estimated for the quotation, and the customer is extremely satisfied since the system
passed pressurization and leak checks on the first attempt without
any issues.
3" and 4" diameters are now available in stainless steel and will be
available in aluminum by February 2004. The working parameters
are 232 psi standard pressure and -4ºF to 140ºF with chemical resistance to compressor oils- both mineral and synthetic. The system
functions for both standard pressure and vacuum with compressed
air, argon and nitrogen. For other fluids please contact us.

Labrie, a well-known manufacturer for sanitary and recycling vehicles located in ST-Nicolas Quebec Canada, needed a piping system
that could be used for both compressed air and inert gas applications.
That's when Transair's Quebec distributor, OutilPac, recommended a complete turn-key system using 63mm, 40mm & 25mm aluminum pipe in tandem and running in a looped configuration
throughout the sprawling manufacturing plant.
Originally told by another distributor that they would need two 75HP compressors to serve their compressed air needs, Labrie
choose OutilPac's suggestion of using the smooth, laminar flow of
Transair aluminum pipe. Once installed, they only had to use only
one of the compressors to serve the entire plant, representing a
huge savings in energy costs! Additionally, Labrie was able to get
an optimal flow of inert gases (Argon/CO2mix) to the welding
stations by using the Transair piping outward from the Praxair
Micro-Bulk mixing station. OutilPac installed the piping system
within code, and at a much lower cost over traditional copper/steel
systems.
In the end, the customer is extremely pleased with this fully functional 'Symphony of Transair' and plans to use this piping for
future plant expansions. A special thanks goes to Robert
Lafreniere, Rejean Blouin, and the entire OutilPac team for providing a cost saving solution for this important customer.
