White PINE Pinus strobus Baby Blue Eyes Description: An evergreen with soft, bluegreen needles arranged in bundles of five. Produces long and narrow, slightly curved cones. A beautiful native tree which is very intolerant of road salt and soil compaction. Description: A semi-dwarf variety with a pyramidal shape and horizontal branches down to the ground. Gorgeous blue-gray needles retain their color well year round. Prefers moist but well-drained, acidic soil and full sun. Retains color year-round. Naturally deer resistant and very hardy. Description: Silvery, blue-green color. Pyramidal shape with stiff, horizontal branches. Prickly needles make it naturally deer resistant. No pruning required. Height and width are largely determined by staking the plant at a specific height before letting it weep down. Performs best if positioned away from cold winter winds. Females produce red fruit instead of cones. Will tolerate shade but must have well-drained soil. Description: Attractive durable shrub for foundation plantings, borders and hedges. Dense green foliage with red berries. Slow growing and tolerant of shade. May need protection from drying winter winds. Toxic to horses and livestock. Height: 1m Zone: 5 Height: 3m Zone: 5 YEW Taxus x media ‘Hillii’ Japanese Pyramid Description: A slow grower with a dense, columnar form and sharply ascending branches. Excellent for hedges or screens and takes pruning well. Has a low tolerance for wet conditions or poor drainage. This is a male selection and does not produce fruit. Height: 1.5m Zone: 5 YEW Taxus cuspidata ‘Clipped Cone’ Description: This yew has a broad pyramidal form. It prefers moist but welldrained soil in a site that is sheltered from strong winds and hot afternoon sun. Responds well to pruning. Height: 3m Zone: 4 Varieties are subject to change.
