This is a partnership between AIE and the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). It provides professional game programmers with the skills and knowledge of a computer science degree contextualised with gaming applications, plus core skills in programming and design. The program is jointly delivered online by CIT and face to face at AIE’s Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra campuses. It takes six semesters (three years) full-time to complete, or equivalent part-time study. The Bachelor program contains all of the content in the Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development, Specialising in Game Programming, with the addition of subjects that focus on developing skills used in the simulation and virtual worlds industries. Protocol E, Screenshot Short Courses Our short courses are a great way to start learning interactive entertainment skills. They’re offered after hours, in school holidays and online. None of them assume prior knowledge and all are direct entry. Study time is generally three to six months depending on the course selected. AIE’s short courses are an excellent option for students who are at high school, want to study part-time, or just want to get a taste for what a career in game and film might be like. Advanced Diploma courses: 1 Apply Complete an online application form at aie.edu.au/apply or download a form from the application page. 2 Schedule an interview We will get in touch with you to schedule an interview at a time that suits. We'll discuss what to bring with you including your portfolio. 3 Interview Come in for an interview and show us your portfolio. The interview is an informal chat with a teacher about your ambitions, goals, skills and suitability for the course. Online applicants and applicants from interstate or regional areas can do their interview via Skype or phone. 4 Acceptance After your interview, we’ll let you know if you are accepted or discuss alternative pathways. 5 Enrolment You can enrol straight after the interview or at an enrolment session. Year 12 Applicants for Melbourne campus apply through VTAC Current Year 12 applicants for the February intake in Melbourne apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). Please visit the VTAC website for dates and further information on how to apply via http://www.vtac.edu.au/ For all other applicants, including applications for our July Intake, the process to apply for Advanced Diploma courses follows the steps listed above. As an approved VET FEE-HELP Provider, eligible students enrolled in AIE's Advanced Diploma and Graduate Diploma courses can access the Australian Government’s VET FEE-HELP loan scheme. What is VET FEE-Help? VET FEE-HELP is a loan given to eligible fee-paying students to help pay for part, or all, of their tuition fees. This means that you can begin studying without paying any upfront fees. Students repay the loan to the Australian Government through the tax system once a student reaches the minimum income threshold level for repayment. How do I apply for VET FEE-HELP? When the time comes to enrol, you will be given the option of using VET FEE-HELP to pay your tuition fees. To do this you will be given a copy of the VET FEE-HELP Student Information Booklet to read and VET FEE-HELP Assistance Form to complete.
