THEN AND NOW: THE “SHOOTER’S BAG” CONCEPT
When Jim Domke first designed his “Shooter’s Bag,” he never dreamed he’d actually started a photo bag business.
As a staff photographer at the Philadelphia Inquirer, he was looking for a bag that he could use on the run, without
having to unpack and pack for every shot. Most bags on the market were designed more like storage cases, with
way too much padding. This made them too bulky and less practical, especially for a photographer whose next
shot could pop up at any second.
The first bag Jim Domke created, the F-2, had the necessary cushioning, but with tons more room. It was
designed so that a photographer could get at equipment instantly, without having to take the bag from their shoulder.
Thousands of photographers liked the Domke concept. What started out as a kitchen table experiment
became a line of intelligently designed and executed bags and accessories that are recognized throughout the world
as the photojournalist’s choice.
Today, we’ve applied those same practical design sensibilities to create an extended family of bags and accessories
to serve the needs of an expanding audience of photographers. On the following pages you’ll see that in addition to
our Classic Collection, our new Quest, Urban and Digital collections provide all types of shooters – professional,
advanced amateur, and enthusiast – with a bag for every need. Each is loaded with innovative features and constructed
of exceptional materials inside and out. Just like the original. We’re excited about these great new products and

BEHIND OUR NEW DESIGNS
In planning for the expansion of the Domke product line, we searched the world over for design inspiration. We found it in the products of
the respected Israeli firm KATA®. Well known as innovators in the design and manufacture of protection and carrying systems for the video
production industry as well as military and law enforcement, the people at KATA® impressed us. They truly shared the Domke commitment
to continuous design improvement, the use of exceptional materials and extraordinary craftsmanship. Having so much in common, we agreed to
collaborate in the design, development and manufacturing process for the new DOMKE line. Not surprisingly, the results of this collaboration
are outstanding, and represent the first of many collaborations to come.

Domke’s advanced backpack carrying system
is based on years of experience in carrying
heavy loads through rough terrain under harsh
conditions. The system is constructed of 4 main
components: ZIGZAG shoulder straps, BETA
waist belt, OMEGA concealment compartment
and aluminum staves or Delrin-rod weight
distribution element (see page 15).

design prevents small items from wandering
between compartments, and allows you to
pre-load and store your inserts outside of the

Rugged, light-weight aluminum (50) or
Nylon (40) buckle, (Registered Design)
which accepts either a snap-hook or the strap
itself. Either option ensures that the shoulder
strap will cross the shoulder at the optimum
angle for comfort and stability.
With these dividers you can create compartments
inside the case that meet your exact requirements.
You can easily cut and configure the size of the
dividers (see page 38).
ECHO - EXTREME CONDITIONS HOOD
Made of Taffeta ripstop Nylon with weatherresistant treatment. One side is Black and the
other side is reflective silver for hot days; the
silver side can also be used as a light reflector. After use in
rain you simply put it in the provided mesh pocket and hang
it out on the bag (see page 37).

MUX CONNECTOR SYSTEM
The Duraflex® Mod-U-Lox® Nylon attachment
system that is modified by Domke to connect
pouches to bags, backpacks, waist belts and

GROOVY™
Two types of connecting slots: (1) open slots in Nylon
hardware that let you thread through and attach the Domke
Pod-Poc or other tripod straps, or (2) webbing that accepts
both of these options as well as the MUX On-Strap Receiver
(vertical) (see page 14).
I M A G E H U N T E R™ S Y S T E M
The Image Hunter™ system is completely

Most of our bags feature “bomb-proof ” steel
snaphooks (a Domke hallmark), with welded
steel rings, as the primary closure. It’s the
toughest, most reliable, pilfer-proof yet quickoperating closure short of a padlock.
We custom weave twin tracks of high-friction
rubber into the thickest, toughest cotton
webbing you’ve ever seen. It clings to the
shoulder and runs completely around the bag
for maximum security and support.

The bag that started it all. Jim Domke
had the first one custom made for his
own use in 1976, and tens of thousands
of bags later, the F-2 is still a popular
Domke Bag. It is the faithful companion

items, important documents, wallet/keys,
medicine, and so on. Dri-Safe keeps its
contents dry, cushioned and clean via a
completely waterproof liner layered

the outside and ripstop nylon on the
inside. Closed-cell foam between the
layers cushions and protects the contents.

Modular Versatile Divider System Kit –
this accessory Kit includes a 35" (90cm)
long divider and 10 special connectors
that let you add extra dividers to your bag
to create more compartments as needed.
The 35" divider can be cut with scissors
to the desired sizes and then a special
connector is added to each end so you can
