Dear Member,
As we head into the summer, which is the highest usage
time for the pool, we wanted to send a quick reminder
about lane etiquette. As with everything, communication is
key. The lane usage charts are posted on the members-only
website and above the sign in sheets by the pool so that
you can plan accordingly for your swim. Though we try to
accommodate every member’s unique needs there may be
times when 2 or more swimmers must share a lane.
• When entering a lane with another swimmer, please
make sure they are made aware that you have joined
them.
•
When there are 2 swimmers in a lane, swimmers may
agree to split, or have each swimmer stay on a set side
of the lane, or circle, swim, when swimmer swim along
the right side of the lane, changing sides each length.
•
When there are 3 swimmers in a lane, swimmers will be
required to circle swim.
If you bring a guest when the pool usage is high, please
share with your guest.

The Barracuda Swim School is
opening its doors this June for our
second season! We are excited to
grow this program and to fill the
needs of our students from those in
learn to swim classes all the way to
our advanced swimmers. Our Swim
School has well trained instructors
that will work with small groups of
students to first train water safety
and a love of the water all the way to
perfecting our students competitive
strokes!
Thank you for your help in making this the best summer
season yet!
Aquatics Staff
It’s Barracuda season and
we are fulfilling every young
swimmers dreams by hosting an “Endless Summer”!
This season will be filled with fun adventures from
around the globe as well as relaxed competitions and
great bonding amongst the swimmers and the whole
family! The Barracuda Swim Team is a fun, relaxed
way to get more involved with the club, while your
young swimmers learn to love the water and meet
many other Club members of their same age!
If you can’t wait to get started but
aren’t quite a Barracuda, check out
the Mini Barracudas! This program is
designed for younger swimmers, 4-6
year olds who have a love and
excitement for the water, but may
still need a helping hand. The goal of
this program is to prepare these kids
for the Barracuda Team which will
start competing the week after the
Mini Program ends.

Mixed Doubles Night
Friday, May 16
To kick off the season we’re including a
fabulous Wilson Demo Day!
We host these events from May through
September (used to be called Twilight
Tennis; always the third Friday of the month)
and our format is informal mixed doubles
(Adults ONLY).
The tennis will be about having fun,
making new friends, and reconnecting with
some of the old ones!
Tennis begins at 5:30pm
Dinner served at 7:30pm
Food will be outstanding, beer and/or wine
will served on the patio between courts 1 & 2
Deadline is Thursday, May 15th
$16++
(fees are per person, plus service fee & sales tax)
How good are you at simply watching the ball and
focusing on absolutely nothing else? Often times
you may be thinking about how to hit the ball, how
to change your tactics during the swing, or even be
distracted by spectators, your expectations, or truly
a host of things that interfere.
The new buzz word for this is “mindfulness” and if
you are looking for resources to become more
present centered on court then try any or all of the
following:
* The Inner Game of Tennis
* www.themindset.eu
* Optimeyes
At the end of the day it may be more about what is
between your ears and less about how you stroke
the ball.
Tennis & Travel
We are exploring many new and (hopefully) exciting
travel options in the coming months and years.
Scott Borowiak Tennis Tours has taken us twice to
the Marvial Residences in Nuevo Vallarta and will do
that again on November 15th tennisandgolftours.com
Chadwick Byrd of Tennis Ventures will be working
with our club for travel to Wimbledon, the French
Open, the Australian Open, and more.
