FOUR ROAN FLY
FOUR ROAN FLY Red Roan, 1996 - AQHA 3455576 PERFORMANCE RECORD Earner of 43 AQHA points: AQHA Performance ROM, Grand Champion at Halter and a World Show qualifier in both Junior Tie-Down Roping and Junior Heading, with 11.5 tie-down roping, 10.5 heeling, 19.5 heading and 1.5 halter points. STALLION NOTES FOUR ROAN FLY‘s sire and dam were both bred by the famous Haythorn Ranch of western Nebraska, the AQHA’s first Best Remuda award winner, and the largest breeder of American Quarter Horses in the United States. The horse breeding program of Haythorn Ranch, a 90,000+ acre working cattle ranch, focuses on raising top ranch and rodeo horses for the ranch cowboys to both use and compete on. A small number of Haythorn horses find their way to the AQHA show arena each year; however, to quote the American Quarter Horse Journal: “Horses sporting Haythorn Ranch’s Figure Four brand have appeared in thousands of professional, collegiate, high school and amateur rodeos across the country. Craig [Haythorn], and his father Waldo before him, have competed and won in such prestigious rodeos as Cheyenne Frontier Days, the Pendleton Roundup and even the National Finals Steer Roping on Haythorn horses.” The Haythorn Land & Cattle Company team has won the Abilene Western Heritage Roundup Ranch Rodeo more years than any other ranch, and a Haythorn horse has been either first or second in the all-round competition nearly every year entered. At the 2002 Haythorn Ranch Production Sale, the high selling gelding (at $50,000) was sired by FOUR ROAN FLY’s sire, Continental Fly, and out of a daughter of his dam, Happy Hancock 23.
