Ming Bridges is truly an International Girl, having spent the first sixteen years of her life living in Singapore, before moving to the UK for sixth form. Ming was awarded a Music Scholarship to Wellington College in the UK (for Overall Excellence in the Performing Arts) where she has been extremely active in the Arts scene. Ming is a strong academic student having recently achieved 39 points at her International Baccalaureate diploma. Ming's introduction to the entertainment world was winning the Teenage Icon competition in Singapore at the age of 13. She is also locally known for her acting, having starred as Roxy in the 26 episode double series Singapore Teenage Drama R.E.M. which won the Best Child Program at the Asian TV Awards. Ming is also no newcomer to the stage, having performed as the Mother in a Billy Elliot Wellington production. 2 Born to a British father and Singaporean mother, Ming Bridges has proven to be more than just a pretty face, for not only can she sing, act, model and dance, her talent for song-writing was discovered during a meeting with Singapore’s veteran musicians Eric Ng and Xiaohan. “I Want You Back” was the very song that Ming played for them during their first meeting. Ming has since then been signed up by Funkie Monkies in Singapore and has released her debut bilingual album “誰知道Who Knows” in both English & Mandarin consisting of 9 English songs and 3 Chinese songs in February 2012.. Her first single ‘I want you back’ is being released in November, followed by a Mandarin track “有些男孩不不能愛” (Some Guys) in January. She wrote 11 out of the 12 tracks. “有些男孩不不能愛” (Some Guys) climbed its way into the Y.E.S. 93.3FM charts at No. 8, and “ 馬賽克世界” (Mosaic World) had made its way into the top 10! ‘Under the Stars’ also found its way into the 91.3FM charts. “Who knows” yielded impressive results for Ming in the year of 2012. With 2 awards for that year, Elle: Music Act of 2012 and m:idea Youth Choice Awards 2013. She was also chosen to record and perform “Believe”, theme song for the Singapore National Games 2012 Closing Ceremony. Ming was the only newcomer who represented Singapore admist celebrities such as Show Luo 羅志祥, Joi Chua etc to perform on China’s National TV station CCTV at the “中新歌會 Starry Starry Night”held in Beijing June 2012. In December 2012, Ming released her full mandarin album “明天Ming Day“. The album entered top 20 of the prestigious local G-music chart, a chart that is based upon CD sales. The album also hit Number 2 in iRadio chart, beating all other divas, giving away only to Jay Chou’s “12 horoscopes”. Ming Day’s first single “淚淚若若⾬雨下 “(Tears like Rain) has been featured in several Taiwan dramas such as “認命吧⾦金金牽⽜牛”. The song has currently 360,000 hits on youtube. “有些男孩不不能愛” also enjoyed a new lease of life as theme song for the Taiwan Drama series “認命吧 ⾦金金牽⽜牛”. Her other 2 singles “Under the Stars” and “嘉年年 華“ are also heavily supported by the media with constant rotation. Ming’s strong social media presence is increasing at 2000 new fans per day.
