Controlling Bed Bugs Where There Are No Beds
Larry Pinto, Pinto & Associates, Inc., Mechanicsville, MD
A bed bug infestation is the toughest problem in pest control. Mostly, we

bugs in sites without beds. Control in these locations presents major

Yeast as a Trojan Horse for Termite Control
Jeff Fenner, B Communications, Mentor, OH
Dr. Claudia Husseneder, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA
With spring showers, come May flowers and weeds too! The same
can be said of social media and other digital marketing tools. These
tools can result in expanded brand exposure and sales for your
company, but there is a potential downside as well. There are a
number of instances where companies, through no fault of their own,
have had their brand integrity dragged through the mud by social
media posts from dissatisfied customers. How do you work to avoid
having this happen to you? In this session you’ll learn how to keep
your company’s brand integrity intact with practical advice and tips
you can use immediately.
Researchers at LSU have developed modified yeast that can be fed
to termites to destroy the protozoa responsible for wood digestion in
the termites’ guts. The demise of these protozoa results in the death
of the termites. The products of the modified yeast are very specific
for the wood digesting protozoa, which means they are effective in
small amounts and have low general toxicity and environmental impact.
