ICT-Vacuum-Fixtures
The Principle - Design and Configuration of ICT-Fixtures
FEINMETALL ICT-Fixtures are individually designed to the customer
specific applications. The fixtures are buiIdt up on the Base-Kit for the
individual test system and may have a large variety of additional and
special functions. In terms of mechanical function ICT-fixtures are
frequently used as vacuum-fixtures, but are also available as
mechanical (manual)- or pneumatic-fixtures.
The typical Fixture-Kit in principle consists of the Housing
and the Vacuum-Cassette.
The housing carries the vacuum-cassette, contains the cabling
and provides the specific interface towards the test system.
The vacuum-cassette consists of the probe-plate and the
moving-plate.
Spring contact probes, fixed at the probe-plate, are contacting
the UUT (unit under test). For better pointing accuracy the
probes can be guided by holes at the moving-plate.

Principle of Finepitch-Fixture with Rigid Probes
At test-fixtures with rigid probes, the fine pitch of the UUT is transferred
to standard pitch of 2.54 mm. This is realised by tangential deviation of
the rigid probes up to 6 degree.
The rigid probe test head is assembled on top of any standard-vacuumfixture-kit and is applicable for all test systems. FEINMETALL is taking
care to the conversion of test points, especially the conversion and data
generating for fixtures to AGILENT 3070 test system.

Motherboards
Motherboards are customer specific interfaces for transmission of electrical
and mechanical parameters from the probecard to the probecard analyser.
The motherboard consists of the base-plate to fix on the analyser, the pogo
ring as interface between probecard and translator board and the translatorboard for signal transmission to the analyser.

and number of test points
Y Usage of double spring loaded probes,
for wired versions: standard probes
Interface Blocks
Interface blocks, so called Pogo-Ring or Pogo-Tower, are used as electrical
connectors, easy to disconnect , for signal transmission between UUT and
test system.
In general they are manufacturer specific and not standardised.
The contact elements within the interface are special spring contact probes
(interface probes).
Interface blocks are used at motherboards, for signal transmission within
adaptions (probecards or test-fixtures) and for connecting interchangeable
kits to test-fixtures.

Test Heads
Test heads and test sockets are typical products
representing FEINMETALL‘s core competencies in
the fields of wafertest, spring contact probes
and test-fixtures.
The programme is comprising test sockets with specific
finepitch probes, mainly used for test of BGA-components
and test heads for finpitch contacting down to 50 mil.
Test heads for smaller pitches can be realised in buckling
beam technology.

Y Due to usage of specific BGA probes, very small overall
height can be achieved, improving the electrical adjustment
to the translator board.
