This is an expanded version of our popular Amsler
Grid Book and provides 7 Amsler Grids and a
score sheet. In addition to the 4 grids we’ve
always included, this expanded booklet adds the
White Dots, Parallel Line and Parallel Line with
Central Line Grids. In addition to the Standard
Grid, the Red on Black is used to diagnose a colour
scotoma. The White Dots Grid reveals a scotoma
without distortion. The two Parallel Line Grids are
used for with patients needing a more simplified
Amsler Grid and are presented both horizontally
and vertically. Each of the Grids with Small
Squares approximates 1/2 degree and is used for
patients with small, central scotomata.
This Expanded Booklet is printed on very durable styrene with cut tabs for easy Grid
selection. Instructions and a score sheet are included. The score sheet can be duplicated
on a copier or pads of score sheets are available. The coil binding makes it easy to show
each page separately thus eliminating any distraction.

Supports assessment of macular degeneration in the vision of older adults. Contains

New Awaya Test For Aniseikonia
We have been offering these products for the detection of Aniseikonia for more than 5 years.
Feedback has been excellent as this condition is more prevalent due to cataract and other
surgeries than previously anticipated. Typically patients are experiencing ‘double vision’ or
headache when the difference exceeds 5% and they have often been to several eye care
professionals before proper diagnosis. Some reports show as much as 41% of postpseudophakic patients have symptoms attributable to Aniseikonia. Correction can be
achieved by specification of proper base curve and index. The chart below shows reported
symptoms for patients diagnosed with Aniseikonia.
The Awaya test for Aniseikonia provides a manual method to detect and calibrate the Aniseikonic condition. Optic tables must then be consulted in order to specify base curve and
index properly.

This test, developed by Dr Awaya of Japan, is very easy to administer and interpret. The test
uses a very clever direct comparative approach with the patient viewing pairs of adjacent
calibrated half-moon targets - one red and one green. Red/Green glasses separates the right
and left eye images for comparison. Targets are presented in one percent increments from 0
to 24%. A second set of targets is then presented for verification of the results. The Aniseikonic condition can be present on any radian, and so the test should be administered on
both the vertical and horizontal axis. Tilting the head does not invalidate the test results.
