The Institute for Creative Writing and Literary
Translation has fostered a thriving writing
community in Rome. Summer Writers in Residence
have included Billy Collins, Joyce Carol Oates
and Jhumpa Lahiri.
SUMMER INSTITUTE • SESSION 2
The Institute for International Communication
brings together students and faculty from around
the world to study communications
in the home of Cicero. Each session focuses on
a current critical issue in international
communications and ends with a lively public
speaking tournament.

LIVING IN ROME
Located in Trastevere, an enchanting
neighborhood along the Tiber River,
John Cabot is minutes from Vatican City
and steps from Rome’s bustling center.
Students reside in a secure, furnished,
and air-conditioned residence hall close
to classrooms, the library, the dining hall,
and the fitness facility.
Mixing with Roman residents, students
