Double-Acting Cylinder Hydraulics Kit
3-Point Yield-Pro Planter
Used with:
• 3PYP1625
When you see this symbol, the subsequent instructions
and warnings are serious - follow without exception.
Your life and the lives of others depend on it!
!
General Information
The double-acting cylinders in these kits replace the single-acting cylinders provided on many 3PYP planters.
This provides faster lowering of the planter. This also provides the capability to lift the forward side of the seed cart
for maintenance.
These instructions explain how to install a Double-Acting
Cylinder Hydraulics Kit, provided as parts:

Pre-Assembly Preparation
Work Location
1.
Move the planter to a location with:
• room to unfold it, and;
• adequate illumination.
!
WARNING
Escaping fluid under pressure can have sufficient pressure to
penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by
relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic lines. Use a
piece of paper or cardboard, NOT BODY PARTS, to check for
leaks. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses or goggles
when working with hydraulic systems. If an accident occurs,
seek immediate medical attention from a physician familiar
with this type of injury.
Prepare Planter
2.
Flush any fertilizer booms with water.
3.
Position the planter at the work location.
4.
Unfold the planter.
5.
Lower the row units.
6.
Set tractor hydraulic remotes to Float, to relieve pressure in the lines.
!
CAUTION
Some lines may have residual pressure due to check and restrictor valves in the system. Treat all lines as pressurized. Slowly
crack open lines and bleed off any pressure before fully disconnecting.

29. Disconnect the rod end of the lift cylinders from the
lugs on the seed cart.
30. Support the cylinders so that the rods can fully
extend without striking planter parts or the ground.
31. Connect the lift system hoses to the tractor or other
hydraulic source.
32. Extend (lift) the circuit to fully extend the lift cylinders.
33. Move the circuit to Retract, and slowly supply oil to
the new hoses, until oil appears at the loose JIC fitting of a new elbows 14 . As oil appears, stop the
flow and secure that fitting to 3/4 JIC spec.
34. Use the Retract circuit to retract the rods enough to
permit re-pinning to the seed cart lugs.
Check Operation
35. Hitch to suitable 3-point tractor.
36. Raise and lower planter while checking that hoses
remain clear of moving parts and retain some slack
at all times.
37. Fold the planter. Move it to a suitable parking location.
