Greetings Brethren,
It is with pride, humility and a deep sense of the responsibility that I am about to
undertake that I look forward to the honor of assuming the office of Master of
Redwood Lodge this May. I want to sincerely thank Worshipful Dennis Cipriano for his
leadership, guidance, energy, vision and friendship during his successful year in the
east. His love for and dedication to our lodge and the Masonic craft was evident
throughout his term as Master. He leaves Redwood Lodge a better place for Masons
and I congratulate him on a very successful year.
Redwood Lodge has a long and proud tradition of building great Masons in Rhode
Island. Thirteen years after the end of the American Civil War, Redwood first opened
its doors. Since then, hundreds of "good men" have walked through our doors and
have become "better men" and Masons. We have prospered through the end of the
1800's, through two World Wars and the turbulent 20th century, and have now been
propelled into the Age of Internet. The world has changed a great deal since Meyer
Noot was our first Master, but the principles of Freemasonry have remained the same
and have continued to draw new men because of its universal principles of friendship,
morality and brotherly love. These are timeless principles which are needed now more
than ever.
Men from all walks of life are craving that special something which removes the
barrage of discord, dissension and disagreement that engulfs their everyday existence.
They want a place where men from all walks of life can be brothers; where they can
be accepted for what they are; where they can share their hopes, problems and
dreams without being judged. The answer to their search is in Masonry. As Master, I
want to encourage men to find this brotherhood within our home, Redwood Lodge.
It is my hope that by emphasizing the beautiful principles contained in our craft that I
can continue to enrich the glorious traditions of Redwood Lodge over the next year.
With your help and support and the blessings of the Great Architect of the Universe, I
am looking forward to a great year ahead.
