1320MW Coal-Fired Power Plant Tanjung Jati, Indonesia Client Central Java Power (CJP) Services Dates 2003 – 2007 The consultancy services provided by ESBI included: Project Type Engineering (Owner’s Engineer) Description The Tanjung Jati 1320MW coal-fired power plant is located close to Jepara, 50km from Semarang in Central Java. The plant was built as a turnkey contract with ESBI providing independent consultancy services during the construction, set-up, commissioning and initial operating phase of the plant. Central Java Power (CJP) is a fully-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation. The plant is leased to PLN (the Indonesian state electricity company) who will operate it for a period of 20 years under a lease agreement with Sumitomo Corporation. www.esbi.ie · Construction advice to the EPC team: ESBI advised Sumitomo on all matters relevant to the EPC contract. This included reviewing and monitoring the execution of the contracts by the various EPC sub-contractors. Support to the Operation & Maintenance team: ESBI advised CJP on the setting up of the Operation & Maintenance organisation including reviewing the necessary procedures and the selection of staff for key positions. · ESBI partnered with the South African utility company Eskom on this project.
