MISSION
To create the environment for a successful partnership between represented companies and
territory managers, so as to achieve optimal profitability and superior service to our growing
customer base.
QUALIFICATIONS
As a Don Bernard & Associates company, we have successfully represented companies within the
gift industry for over 40 years, and operated a permanent showroom in the Dallas Market Center
for over 35 years.
SHOWROOM:
We have been in our current location since January 2012 , and operate a well-designed and organized
9,200 sq-ft showroom on the second floor of the Trade Mart. Our showroom, as well as managing
representatives, are fully computerized. Our convenient location offers the companies we
represent maximum exposure. Additionally, it offers our customers ease of access. The showroom
is open to serve customers 5 days each week from 8:30am - 4:30pm. We are participants in all
Dallas markets, January, March, June and September, as well as the first Monday and Tuesday of
each month being Market days.
REPRESENTATIVES/EMPLOYEES:
We have multiple key account relationships and 10 territory managers, with each rep being fully
automated. We keep our reps informed with all pertinent information and understand the value
they are to our overall business. We have several seasoned and well trained temporaries that
work the major markets. We maintain coverage in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New
Mexico, Missouri and Kansas.
ACCOUNT BASE:
We service over 10,000 accounts with our emphasis being all types of gift accounts, home
decor accounts, florists, garden centers, antique stores, pharmacies, hospital gift shops,
collegiate stores, religious bookstores, department stores, furniture stores, toy and party stores.

PRODUCT LINES:
We represent companies with our product mix consisting of trend boutique, fashionable home
decor, tabletop, candles, candle accessories, occasional gifts, baby gifts, women’s accessories,
inspirational items, books, general gifts, collegiate/licensed products, along with seasonal gifts,
and decor.

Trade Mart (TM)
The Dallas Trade Mart is home to hundreds of showrooms featuring gifts, decorative
accents, lighting, tabletop and stationery. Opened in 1959, its four floors surround
an atrium called The Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart, featuring the largest indoor
marketplace pond complete with live fish and palm trees. Many special events are held
here including the Dallas Fashion Awards gala, ARTS Awards gala and private parties.
It was also the destination of the President John F. Kennedy motorcade in 1963 where he
was scheduled to give a speech to 2,600 people at a sold-out luncheon. In 1964, Elizabeth
Erink of England created the bronze sculpture “The Eagle” in honor of the president. It
sits outside the main Trade Mart entrance today. The building was expanded in 1976 and
2007 and now has approximately one million square feet of space. Dallas Market Center
management and marketing offices are located on the fifth floor of this building.

Associates. Working with his wife Joyce,
they built a successful company. This year,
they celebrate 40 years in business, although
much has changed for them – including the
name.

They became a permanent fixture at
the Dallas Market Center in 1980 when
the opened their first 1,500-square-foot
showroom. In 2006, they changed the
company name to Next Generation to
reflect the growing, changing nature of their
business. In 2011, they launched their
newest agency, 3 Gentrys. The combined
showrooms now occupy almost 20,000
square-feet on the first and second
floors of the Trade Mart. Today it is truly
a family operation: Don and Joyce have
retired, and their daughters – Kim Pounds,
Bev Cain and Michelle McGuire – are
carrying on the family legacy. Next
Generation and 3 Gentrys now carry
about 65 product lines and have 20
professional territory managers. The two
agencies have become popular go-to
showrooms for mom and pop stores
who want to carry the latest and greatest
of new products.
