30 years of sound experience
Hill Audio was established in England during the early
1980’s, with the vision to provide quality equipment to
the live sound industry. With its engineering team
having had profound background in mixer design, Hill
Audio developed some of the most influential mixer
designs of the late 20th century, well known for their
superior preamplifiers and innovative EQ sections,
providing an excellent price-performance ratio. Hill
Audio not only takes credit for the invention of the
rack-mounted PA mixer such as the Multimix/
Rackmix/Stagemix models, but also for some highly
successful small and large-scale live mixers such as
the Soundmix, Datum or J series. Few but equally
successful recording mixer designs such as the Remix
24 from 1986 and the larger Concept consoles
gained an excellent reputation in the mid-level market.
Apart from mixers, Hill Audio was at the time well
known for the quality and performance of its amplifier
designs, which sold several ten thousand pieces over
the existence of the successful DX and LC series, which
are the workhorse of many PA rigs until today.
