Dear Parents/Caregivers
Following the amazing AB’s win last weekend it has been a buoyant week at
Chisnallwood.
Clearly evident within the whirlpool of Term Four activities is the rapidly
approaching end of year.
Chisnallwood is renowned for the opportunities it offers, however for all this to
happen there is a huge logistical programme in place the whole time.
As always we urge you to be part of this exciting part of your child’s life and to
join in whatever activities you can.
I also draw your attention to the fact that Board of Trustees elections are being
held again next year in May/June and I encourage anyone interested in finding
out more about what is involved to call and see me or the Board Chair Mrs Cushla
Ellis.
Remember that although the term of office is normally for three years you can
be a Board member for half that term if you wish. This is an opportunity to be
part of a vibrant successful school and in doing so to contribute to the education
of your child and of others.
With best wishes to all of you.
Yours sincerely

OUT OF SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENT:
Timothy Carey was fortunate to be invited to play for the “Adelaide Sabres” from South Australia in a
recent week long International Trans-Tasman under 14 Ice Hockey tournament held in Queenstown.
Timothy is a goal tender and was up against some of New Zealand’s and Australia’s up and coming
hockey stars. This was an invaluable and wonderful experience for Timothy and the dawning of new
friendships and aspirations.
YEAR 8 FORMAL DANCE LESSONS.
This year the P.T.A is once again kindly subsidizing dance
lessons for our Year 8 students before the Formal.
The dance lessons will be taken by professional dance
tutor, Vanessa Cole and each class will have three lessons
over Week 5 and Week 6. (November 10-17)

Music Exams
Congratulations to the following students who achieved merit in their
Trinity College flute exams under the teaching of Janet Simon: Sarah
Powley Grade 4, Anabel Bramley grade 3.
Best wishes to our students sitting theory exams on Saturday morning.
Congratulations to all involved in last week's Primary Schools' Music
Festival. The choir sang well and was a credit to Chisnallwood, and it was
great to see Nic Ryan, Olivia Welsh, Mana Rae and Aya McLarty in special
groups. Special mention to Nic who gave an excellent spoken introduction.
A number of our students were also commendably involved in out-ofschool piano recitals over the weekend.
