Cleaning Instructions
In general, most common stains can be cleaned using warm, soapy water and clear water rinses. Moderate
scrubbing with a medium bristle brush will help loosen soiling materials from the depressions of embossed
surfaces. For more stubborn stains, use Formula 409®, a commercially available mild detergent†, in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Full strength rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits†† may be tried cautiously as a last resort on very stubborn
stains, if the above suggestions do not work. Indiscriminate use of any solvent, or solvent containing cleaner,
can severely damage or discolor vinyl.
When disinfecting with bleach, dilute with water up to a 9:1 ratio (10%).
Liberally apply diluted disinfectant using a sponge. Rinse with cold water several times. Wipe dry and
repeat if necessary. Federal regulations require that guidelines on the bleach label need to be followed for
antiseptic or antimicrobial purposes.
Virox 5, JohnsonDiversy Canada can be used to clean Morbern vinyls. Provisions listed above for normal
cleaning can be followed.
NOTE: Detergents should never be used on a regular or repeated basis for normal cleaning. Morbern
recommends repeated rinsing with clear water after any cleaning procedure.
†When opening a new container, test the cleaner in an inconspicuous area as cleaner manufacturers may
change formula without notice. Morbern cannot be responsible for unknown changes to the manufacturer’s
cleaning formula made between our six month verification intervals.
††CAUTION: Exercise care as these solvents are flammable. Use only small quantities of solvent and keep
clear of any sorces of ignition. Wear protective gloves and ensure cleaning takes place in a well ventilated
area.

Solid or Dried Stains: Remove as much of the dried stain as you can with a dull knife. By removing the
majority of the stain there is less possibility the staining will be rubbed into the fabric as it is cleaned.
However, if the stain is still present, proceed with Wet Cleaning Treatment (below).
Wet Cleaning Treatment: For most stains, simply make a paste using equal amounts of water and an enzyme
powder detergent, such as Tide® or Cheer®. Apply the solution to the stain. Allow the solution to remain for
at least one minute (max. 5 min) to allow the detergent to begin removing the stain. Then scrub the area
with a clean nylon brush.
After scrubbing, the area needs to be rinsed thoroughly using a sponge and clean water. Water will not affect
Crypton®, so please use it liberally. Remember to remove all the soap so the fabric will look and perform at
its best. Dry with a clean cloth. Any remaining moisture (wet spot) will evaporate. Please remember, with
Crypton®’s water barrier, the foam padding will not become wet during the rinse process.
Steam Cleaning: Steam cleaning is an ideal method of thoroughly cleaning Crypton®. Spots can be removed
by pre-treating them with either the soap and water paste outlined above or a pre-treatment solution from
the steam cleaning company. Most solutions provided by these companies are acceptable for Crypton®
fabrics.

W - Clean only with water-based cleaners: i.e. Tide®, with water or Crypton Care products. Do not over-wet.
Do not use solvent to spot clean. It is not recommended to use diluted bleach as colors will fade. Crypton®
is engineered to be extremely easy to clean, allowing spots and spills to be easily removed with soap and
water.

a “greener” Crypton® regardless of the fabric.
Fabrics with the Crypton® Green logo represented in this catalogue are made with a great percentage of
recycled Polyester yarns to reduce the environmental footprint left from processing petroleum products into
virgin Polyester. The ensuing reduction in the energy required in the manufacturing process results in lower
emission levels and less waste.

brush lightly, and blot with a clean cloth to make the stain disappear.

Crypton Ink Purple Stain Remover removes stains like ink, iodine, grease, markers, and red stains. Great for stains that
previously required solvent cleansers.
Crypton Gold Food Beverage & Protein Remover removes tough stains like blood, food, and beverage stains, and even
urine. Use this in combination with the purple bottle for stains like mayonnaise, dressing and vegetable oil.
Crypton Upholstery Brush is a compact upholstery brush developed specifically for use on soft textiles without damaging
the fabric. Soft, black bassine fibers in a rigid polyethylene block handle provide the proper agitation.
Crypton Fabric Freshener is a one-step disinfectant that is effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria and is also a virucidal on Crypton barrier fabrics. This pH-neutral, quaternary disinfectant can be used on other non-porous surfaces.
Concentrated Extraction Cleaner is engineered with lower pH levels to help remove alkaline buildup on fabrics. This effective formulation of concentrate is mixed at a dilution ratio of 32:1 (4 ounce per gallon).
Crypton Care Upholstery Extraction Machine has been developed for ground-in, older upholstery stains. It has a 1HP
vacuum motor, with a specially engineered reduced pressure 40 psi water pump. The hand tool has a clear vacuum head,
so it’s easy to see stains and dirt being vacuumed away. Features a 2 gallon solution tank, and a 3.5 gallon recovery tank.
