Goals
� Estimate how many people would not be injured or killed if
every car was fitted with the driver assistant system (based
on the federal statistics)
� Estimate which system is the most interesting one for AXA
Winterthur in terms of accidents and in terms of costs
(based on the AXA Winterthur claims database)

Conclusions
For the insurance company two systems are very interesting:
� Parking sensors
� Forward collision warning systems
To reduce the number of death and heavily injured people on
the roads, there are two other systems most effective:
� ESC
� Lane departure warning systems
According to our study driver assistant systems should be
standard in every car. To raise the awareness of driver
assistant systems, AXA and bfu started a marketing campaign.
