THE VALUE OF
EXPERIENCE
3 generations of American sawyers
have put their trust in TimberKing
S
ince 1929, we’ve built mills for people like you by following two simple rules:
1.Build the machines as heavy and rugged as they can be
2.Back them with the strongest warranties
in the industry
This straightforward way of doing business has made TimberKing the brand
to trust for over 80 years. During the Depression, TimberKing mills helped
thousands of American families make ends meet. During World
War II, TimberKing mills produced much-needed lumber for the war effort.
More recently, TimberKing mills have helped thousands of Americans like
you maintain the self-sufficient life-style that made America great.
More Experience
Means Better Machines
As times have changed, so have TimberKing mills. Our original product was
the Belsaw circular mill, the “Old Reliable” of small circle mills. Between 1929
and 1998, tens of thousands of these mills went out to customers across
America and around the world.
When TimberKing began making portable bandmills in 1989, we started
with an unfair advantage: our years of experience in making rugged, no-nonsense equipment. We looked at what was out there and drew on that experience to make the TimberKing bandmill better than the other mills on the
market.
80-Year Tradition of Trust
When you choose TimberKing, you join three generations of American
sawyers who demand the best and know where to find it. When you invest in a
sawmill, invest in a company with a 80-year tradition of building rugged mills and
standing behind them. Invest in TimberKing.

The9-POINT
TIMBERKING ADVANTAGE
makes ours DIFFERENT & BETTER than any
other mill!
1. Rugged 4-Post Head —
2. 200% stronger, solid welded Box Beam Cutting Deck —
There are steel posts at all 4 corners of our cutting
head. That’s the simplest, strongest, most dependable way to keep the head plumb,
true, and square for straight, flat, precision cuts every time.
We
use solid steel, 2 x 6" box beams that are 2X stronger than single-wall channel steel
other mills use. And our decks are WELDED for permanent strength, not bolted together
as others are.
3. Massive Cutting Throat —
Our cutting throats are as much as 10" WIDER
and 9" TALLER than our competitors’. You handle the BIG ones with no chainsaw
trimming. That opens the door to high earnings cutting beams, wide boards,
quarter-sawing, more.
4. Rubber Belted Steel Blade Wheels —
We’ve built mills both with and
without rubber belts (or “tires”) on the steel blade wheels and we believe BELTS are
best. Without belts, steel wheels wear and slowly lose their crown. When they do, they
need re-machining — that can shut you down for weeks. Belts wear, too, but replacing
them is fast and simple.
5. More Standard Features —
Every TimberKing mill comes with more
features STANDARD than its nearest competitor. Not “niceties” but “must haves”
like blade clutches, fine adjust outriggers, and computer setworks. We include
them because they’re necessary — they’re pricey extras on other mills.
6. Direct-Action Hydraulics —
7. The Human Touch —
Every hydraulic TimberKing mill has simple,
trouble-free hydraulic control systems. This straightforward DIRECT MECHANICAL
solution is far more dependable than jittery 12-volt electronic controls.
When you call TimberKing a human being answers and
helps get you to the right place. Our sales-people are on salary — not commission —
which means they’re not trying to make a “quick sale.” They give you good honest
information to help you find the right machine for your needs.
8. Tradition: First & Best since 1929 —
9. Industry Leading Warranty & RISK FREE Trial Offer —
If your granddad was a sawyer,
chances are he owned one of our mills. In well over 80 years since, we’ve made
rugged, dependable mills for 4 generations of hardworking American sawyers.
When you
roll up all our “TimberKing Advantages” it’s easy to see why our mill’s the “King of the
Woodlot.” And these same advantages are precisely why we can offer you final proof
of our superiority: our industry-leading Warranty and our RISK-FREE in-the-woodlot
Trial Offer.

IN-LINE EFFICIENCY is the secret!
Industry leader since 1930’s
Place the TimberKing Talon 900 Edger IN-LINE with your TimberKing Bandsaw
mill: you’ve just created a highly efficient lumber production line. Your TK cuts
boards to precise thickness, then they go directly into your Talon edger where the
edges are neatly trimmed.
Your Talon 900 comes pumped-up and ready. TimberKing has been the acknowledged leader in value-added board edgers since the 1930’s. In 1998, we introduced the revolutionary Talon 900 Conveyor-Feed Edger — the first portable edger

Conveyors GRIP – Rollers SLIP
To cut straight, an edger must have a rock-solid grip on the workpiece. the more contact, the better the grip. That’s why we use CONVEYOR-FEED instead of the common
roller-feed system you’ll find on other edgers.
Our industrial-grade conveyors grip boards securely, guiding your board through the
cutters so it emerges with edges trimmed neat, straight, and true.

TOUGH QUESTIONS…and straight
ANSWERS about TimberKing Mills!
Q
A
Q TimberKing was founded in 1929. So what?
A
What’s the advantage of TimberKing’s four-post
saw head?
Q
A
A saw head has one purpose in life: to keep the blade level with the cutting
deck. When something heavy needs to be kept level, the dependable way
to support it is on four corners. It doesn’t take an engineer to tell you your
kitchen table needs 4 legs. The 4-post head is straight-forward, it’s rugged,
it works. Old-fashioned cantilever heads ride on single-beam mono-rail
cutting decks. That means they get support from one side only. They can
work, but they require periodic re-leveling and support during transport. In
short, a cantilever head works some of the time…a four-post head works
all the time.
OK, I agree the 4-post head is the best design, but
there are lots of 4-post mills out there. Why should
I choose TimberKing?
Q
A
No other company offers TimberKing’s combination of quality, selection,
tradition and company-backed warranties. Put a TimberKing mill next to
any other brand and the quality difference is unmistakable. Plus, there’s
a TimberKing mill for every need, from hobby to super-pro, so when you’re
ready to move up, you can stay “in the family.” Since 1929, we’ve been
making sawmills right here in Kansas City and backing them with the
strongest warranties in the industry.
New sawmill companies seem to come (and go) with every passing year. When
you invest in a sawmill, you want a machine from a company with a proven
track-record of quality and service. There’s no other company in the business
with a 80-year track-record to match TimberKing’s. One of our service techs
said it best: “We took care of your granddaddy and we’re gonna take care
of you.”
CANTILEVER DESIGN CAN
WOBBLE because it supports
from ONE side only. The head
can twist, move, come out of
plumb all too easily.
You say TimberKing mills are better-built. Give me
some specifics.
Q
A
One TimberKing owner who spent his career inspecting welds for John
Deere® wrote to tell us our welds met or exceeded Deere® standards.
Mills are welded solid from heavy box-beam steel, numerous parts are
laser-cut, heavy pieces like log loaders are plasma-cut from 1” thick solid
steel. Many bare-metal parts are cadmium-plated to prevent rusting, and
all TimberKing mills feature a baked-on, UV-protected, powder-coat finish.
TimberKing has a big product line. Why is this
an advantage? I’m only going to buy one mill.

machines go for around $4,000. Why should I spend
more for a TimberKing
A
?
Because you get more. The TimberKing’s solid welded frame and box-beam
cutting deck are built to stand up to years of heavy use. Put them beside some
of the perforated steel and angle-iron mills out there and you’ll understand TimberKing’s value advantage. TimberKing mills are sold as a package: we don’t
charge for “add-ons” – they come standard. Like one customer recently said,
“TimberKing doesn’t make you pay extra for the potatoes.” Because TimberKing
mills come fully-assembled, they’re ready to start earning their keep right away.
And because they’re built sturdy, every TimberKing mill is backed with
the strongest warranty protection in the business.
can you offer such a strong warranty when your

competitors can’t?

Q IfyourI dowarranty?
have a problem, how can I be sure you’ll stand by
A
Because we know how tough we build our mills. We have total confidence in
their long-term reliability. So we can confidently stand behind our mills like no
one else does.
ROCK-SOLID TIMBERKING
4-POST SYSTEM locks the
head true, plumb, straight, and
square no matter what!
You might be surprised. Some of our best customers are folks who only expected to buy one
mill. But as they got more involved with sawing, they decided they needed more capacity or an
additional mill. They tell us they’re glad they went with a company where they could “move up”
when the time came.
Another company built the first portable bandmill. Why should
I go with TimberKing?
Since we weren’t the first company to make portable bandmills, we were able to look at the
competition and build them better. As a result, our straight-forward, no-frills mills are known
as the best in the industry.
Q
A
We always say that our customers are our best salespeople. We know the only
way TimberKing owners will help us sell machines is if we keep them happy.
The bottom line? We can’t afford to disappoint you.
What’s the catch to your 30-Day Trial?
No catch. Unlike other 30 Day Trials, TimberKing’s 30-Day Trial is a no questions asked trial.
It’s very simple: use the mill as hard as you want. If for any reason you’re not happy, bring it
back within 30 days and we’ll give back every penny you paid, less the freight. No hassle, no
questions, no catch.
“BRING ON THE BIG ONES!”
Tales of incredible woodlot feats &
remarkable financial success…from
TimberKing owners across the land!
They built their dream home... And saved BIG!
“My TimberKing supports me fully”
While millions of Americans are struggling to make their mortgage payments,
payments, Henry “Bud” and Colleen
Napier and are enjoying life in their
beautiful new Kentucky hillside home...
at a fraction of the cost. How’d they do
it? They cut their own trees, sawed their
own lumber, and built their dream house
themselves. Retired from the coal mining
industry, Henry had the time. He had never done much building before—and he’d
certainly never built a house before—but
he didn’t let a little thing like that stop
him. “Our TimberKing mill paid for itself”
“Our biggest business is resawing Douglas Fir timbers reclaimed from 100-year old buildings.
I buy beams from dismantled buildings and cut them into flooring, mantles, and other-sized
beams. I can turn out 20,000 board feet a week when we’re cutting beams. 1 x 7" flooring
blanks take a little longer.
I started out using an Alaskan Chain Saw Mill then bought a TimberKing mill just by looking
at their brochures. When we saw other brands of mills working, we knew we’d bought the best.
This is my second TimberKing mill.
“We tore down our old house and started
from scratch building a new one with a
TimberKing 1220 sawmill. Our mill paid
for itself on the first house we built. We bought the sawmill specifically to build our new house and one for my mother.
I’d never built a house before. I’d picked up a little carpentry over the years and I learned a lot building the first house
we built.
Tolerances to 1/16"
Accuracy is of utmost importance — that’s how we’ve built our reputation. When I cut big
timbers, I have very tight tolerances: just 1/16” plus or minus. Any more than that and my
customers reject the lumber. It’s very critical that everything is on the money — I can produce
that with my TimberKing. The setworks are great, you just sit there all day long and not have to
adjust anything.
We just did a four-and-a-half million dollar home. The lumber cost $45,000. We
made 9 x 9" chamfered columns and 15'
chamfered beams. We did a lot of wall
cap material, beveled on both sides. We
did arbors — one was about $15,000.
Why buy lumber when you can saw your own for free? Building a house these days from commercial lumber would
probably cost a couple hundred thousand dollars. We got trees at no cost, felled and sawed them ourselves. Our cost
was just for the mill and our own labor and we ended up with a custom-built, 1,700 sq. ft. 2-story 3-bath home. I cut
trees on our own land and from other people’s properties. Some were white pine, others were red oak, wild cherry,
yellow pine and more. Most of the lumber in our house came from trees we cut and sawed on our mill.
Buying a mill made more sense than paying others to saw. I have a neighbor who owns a TimberKing B-20 mill.
I hired him to come out and saw some lumber for me. I liked his mill and
liked what the lumber looked like. But I had to pay him $2,500 to do the
cutting. I realized that would have paid for half what a mill of my own would
cost. Though when we bought, we ended up getting extras like a bed extension,
saw blades and other things.
“If you can get it on the 1220, it’ll saw it” I chose the TimberKing 1220 mill
because the price was low. It’s the lowest price TimberKing. I looked a long time
on the internet. With its features and stories from owners, it looked like the best
way to go. The 1200 is the smallest TimberKing but I used it to build a two-story
home. It handled everything for me. If you can get it on the mill, it’ll saw it. I
have no regrets whatsoever—except I wish I had bought the bigger 1600! My advice for anybody who’s sawing is to
keep your blade good and sharp. Get a blade sharpener so you can sharpen your own. With a good, sharp blade, this
mill will cut anything. I tried cheaper blades than TimberKing’s, but TimberKing’s are better.
“I couldn’t have made a better choice” I have nothing bad to say about
TimberKing. It’s easy to use; my wife and others in my family saw with it.
I’ve owned my TimberKing 1220 five or six years and it still has the original
battery in it. It’s sat out in the weather 24/7 here on our Kentucky hilltop
with never any problems.
I’m highly pleased. I couldn’t have made a better choice. I’d recommend
TimberKing to anybody.”
My TimberKing mill is supporting me fully
and has done great things for my business. There are a lot of mills out there but
if I bought another one tomorrow, it would
be a TimberKing.”

Virginia TimberKing 2000 Owner
Cuts Huge Walnut Log!
Dear TimberKing, I am very pleased with my new TimberKing 2000 that I purchased. I bought the 2000 to build my kids a timber frame barn and to put a
timber frame addition on my house. Everything is working extremely well and
I have already began cutting the logs for my barn. I built a 18’ x 24’ timber
frame pavilion for my Boss so I could learn the machine and the timber framing
process before tackling my larger projects. I am very happy with the ease of
using this machine.
Dear TimberKing: Here is a picture of the Appalachian Black Walnut I have been
sawing. The logs make some beautiful lumber. I had no problems sawing the big log
in the picture, it measured 34 inches on the big end and 28 on the small end. From
beginning to end my mill sawed perfect, square, sharp edges.

81 Year-Old TK Owner Cuts
8,000 Board Feet a Day!
Dear TimberKing: I have had mills of all sorts since the mid sixties and now
that I am older and somewhat slower, I decided too give Timberking a try and
I found out that even though I haven’t had my mill but about three weeks
now the people and company have been great. As you can see by the picture I
have been cutting some
big poplar boards for a
custumer too wall up the
inside of a new room.
The mill works great for
me and my dog Bingo as
you can see. Thanks for
a good honest company.

I am writing to give TimberKing a praise report on my 2200 Sawmill. I have been
an operator and owner in the sawmill business for over 25 yrs. My first mill was a
circle saw M-14 Foley-Belsaw. I have been a long time customer of TimberKing... I am
writing to you regarding the 2200 mill to say I am very satisfied with the neatness,
quality and placement of the dials and gauges and instruments & engineering. I especially like the way you can swing the operator station so you can see your cant from
either side...
I am 81 yrs old and can cut 8,000 board feet a day with just my equipment and one
man. I like the fact that it is fully hydraulic.
I had a [well-known competitor’s mill] for 11 years. I had to work on fixing something
on it every day.
I just wanted to write to you & let you know how satisfied & thrilled I am to work &
own such a fine machine as my TimberKing 2200 mill.

FIELD NOTES
TK Ultra Max Blades
Aren't Designed to Cut Metal but...
“One of your TimberKing UltraMax blades cut through a bolt not once, but
twice. Although the blade lost some serious tooth height, it didn’t break.
Blade cut through the eye of the bolt, thereby cutting through the same bolt
twice. The bolt was in a 36” sycamore log. After we cut out the offending
part with a chainsaw, we made some beautiful boards. Thanks for the blades,
and thanks for making a great machine!” Note how wide the cuts were that
John was making -- you’ve got to have a big TK-sized cut throat to make cuts
like that!

Good resale value.
“Just a short note to let you know that due to some health problems, I had to sell my mill. I owned
it just over 2 years and really enjoyed turning rough-looking logs into beautiful boards. I made
pretty good $$$$ too. Overall, it was a great experience, great mill, great service, and got a good
price when I sold it. Keep up the good work!”
