Charged Linda Ann Regester, 57, of Port Trevorton, with four
counts of arson and related offenses, 1 count of causing or risking
catastrophe, endangering the welfare of children, penalty for causing fire on or within woodlots, forests or wildlands, recklessly endangering another person and possessing instruments of crime on
November 17. A preliminary hearing was held on November 20, at
10:15 a.m.
DISTRICT JUDGE JOHN H. REED, SELINSGROVE
Charged Glenda L. Walter, 56, of Middleburg, with driving under
the influence with the highest rate of alcohol BAC .16% or greater,
careless driving, and general lighting requirements on November 15.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 16, at 9:45 a.m.
Charged John M. Arcuri, 29, of Freeburg, with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct on November
14. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 17, at 10:15
a.m.
Charged Cassandra L. Kinney, 21, of Mountainside, NJ, with driving under the influence of alcohol with general impairment, driving
under the influence of a high alcohol BAC higher than .10% but
less than .16%, maximum speed limits, and careless driving on November 18. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 23, at
10:30 a.m.
Charged Heather Marie Souder, 29, of Sunbury, with accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, stop signs and yield signs,
vehicles entering or crossing roadways, careless driving, and duty to
give information or render aid on November 18. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 23, at 10 a.m.
Charged David Alan Tittle, 52, of Middleburg, with driving under
the influence of alcohol with general impairment, driving under the
influence of a blood alcohol BAC of .08% but less than .10%, driving
on roadways laned for traffic, and careless driving on November 18.
Charged Jason Michael Kline, 36, of Shamokin Dam, with theft
by deception and bad checks on November 14. He was arraigned
on November 14, at 3 p.m. and bail was set at $10,000 unsecured. A
preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 3, at 10:15 a.m.
Charged Israel Martinez, 32, of Sunbury, with receiving stolen
property and retail theft on November 10. A preliminary hearing is
scheduled for December 16, at 10:15 a.m.
Charged Jamie Lynn Hernandez, 32, of Coal Township, with retail
theft and criminal conspiracy on November 12. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 17, at 9 a.m.
Charged Brittani Alanna Reichenbach, 27, of Beaver Springs, with
receiving stolen property and retail theft on November 12. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 16, at 10 a.m.
Charged Moses Jabar Messiah Brice, 23, of Selinsgrove, with retail
theft and criminal conspiracy on November 12. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 17, at 9:15 a.m.
Charged Shawn Robert Ritter, 35, of Mifflinburg, with sale or transfer of firearms and unsworn falsification to authorities on November
24. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 16, at 9:30 a.m.
Charged Robert L. Anderson, 33, of Selinsgrove, with contraband,
possession of a controlled substance contraband by an inmate prohibited, and possession of a controlled substance on November 18.
He was arraigned on November 25, at 12 p.m. and was unable to post
$50,000 monetary bail. He waived the right to a preliminary hearing
at the time of arraignment.
Charged Tiffany Ann Benelisha, 32, of Sunbury, with retail theft
and receiving stolen property on November 24. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 17, at 9:30 a.m.
Charged George William Raab, 33, of Danville, with receiving stolen property and retail theft on November 24. A preliminary hearing
is scheduled for December 22, at 10:15 a.m.
Charged Colby Michael Saner, 18, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, with retail
theft on November 24. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 23, at 11;15 a.m.
Charged Kimberly Marie Beachel, of Middleburg, with driving under the influence of alcohol with general impairment, driving under
the influence of the highest alcohol BAC .16% or higher, maximum
speed limits, and careless driving on November 24. A preliminary
hearing is scheduled for December 30, at 9 a.m.
Charged Zachary R. Williams, 29, of Selinsgrove, with sale or
transfer of firearms and unsworn falsification to authorities on November 12. He was arraigned on November 24, at 9 a.m. and bail
was set at $10,000 unsecured. A preliminary hearing is scheduled
for 10:15 a.m.
SELINSGROVE STATE POLICE
Crash 6:35 p.m. November 18, on Troxelville Road, just west of
Moyers Road, in Adams Township. A 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven
by Jason D. Crosby, 27, of McClure, was traveling west on Troxelville Road. The vehicle traveled off of the right side of the roadway,
struck a traffic sign and continued to travel off of the roadway before striking a telephone pole. After impact the vehicle began to spin
counterclockwise before coming to rest facing south. No injuries
were reported. Crosby was cited for roadways laned for traffic.
Theft November 17, at St. Peters Church, on the Middle Road, in
Adams Township. Police were called to the church for a theft of
wood. Mark Wayne Beachel, 53, of Beavertown, was interviewed
and it was determined that he took the wood for this own personal
use. Charges were filed at District Court 17-3-04.
Crash 3:40 p.m. November 15, on Daddario Hill Road, approximately .25 miles west of SR 104, in Franklin Township. A 2006 Jeep
Commander driven by Matthew D. Trawitz, 36, of Middleburg, was
traveling east on Daddario Hill Road, negotiating a curve to the
right in the roadway. A 2002 Ford Windstar driven by a 17 year old
male, of Middleburg, was traveling west on Daddario Hill Road,
negotiating a curve to the left in the roadway. Trawitz’s vehicle
crossed into the oncoming lane and sideswiped the Ford Windstar.
No injuries were reported. Trawitz was cited for a traffic violation.
Retail Theft 7:30 p.m. November 14, at Walmart, at 980 N.
Susquehanna Trail, in Monroe Township. Colby M. Saner, 18, and
Drew N. Saner, 20, both of Mt. Pleasant Mills, were both charged
with retail theft from Walmart.
Harassment November 15, on Eaglebrook Lane, in West Perry
Township. William E. Savidge, 25, of Northumberland, and Abigail
C. Wagner, 29, of Richfield, were charged with harassment from an
incident that took place between them.
Crash 10:10 a.m. November 21, on SR 522, approximately 1 mile
west of SR 235 S., in Spring Township. A 1997 Ford Ranger was
traveling west on SR 522, when it stopped and attempted to back
into an unnamed gravel road. The vehicle drove off of the edge of
the roadway and into a ditch causing it to roll onto its side. The vehicle sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported.
Hit and Run 3 p.m. November 21, on Walnut Street at its intersection with Richard Road, in Center Township. A 1995 GMC Wia
driven by Ralph E. Gemberling, 48, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, was making a right turn from Walnut Street onto Richard Road. The vehicle
was unable to safely complete the turn and the trailer of the vehicle
struck a rock and pushed it into a wooden pole on the property of
601 Walnut Street. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
Harassment November 22, at 1228 Summit Road, in Middleburg.
Curtis Kline, 39, of Middleburg, pushed a known female, 37, of
Sunbury, into a wall. Kline was cited for harassment.
Theft by Deception 5:50 p.m. November 16, at the Dollar Store, at
19655 Rt. 522, in Spring Township. Thomas E. Sholly, 42, of Sunbury, removed $93 worth of merchandise from the store.
Burglary 4:09 a.m. November 24, at 12318 Rt. 235, in Spring
Township. An unknown suspect entered the residence of Gladys
A. Oldt, 95, of Beaver Springs, via the back door of the residence.
When confronted by Oldt, the suspect fled on foot. The suspect is
described as approximately 5’5”-5’9” tall with longer dark hair and
scruffy facial hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 570-374-8145.
Crash 6:57 a.m. November 25, on N. Susquehanna Trail at its intersection with an unnamed street, in Monroe Township. A 2000
Dodge Neon driven by Sarah L. Long, 26, of Sunbury, was traveling north on N. Susquehanna Trail. A 2005 Ford F-150 driven by
Kristopher R. Stahl, 21, of Selinsgrove, was stopped at a red traffic
signal when Long’s vehicle rear-ended it. No injuries were reported.
Long was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed.
Harassment 1:30 p.m. November 24, at West Snyder Elementary
School, in Beaver Springs. Two known juveniles engaged in a physical altercation while at recess. No charges were filed.
Harassment 1 p.m. November 20, at 631 Weller Hill Road, in
Middleburg. Robert Levanowitz Jr., 37, of Middleburg, threatened
bodily harm to Martin Bobb, 58, of Turbotville.
Retail Theft 1:03 p.m. November 14, at Target, in Monroe Township. A known male took possession of a Playstation 3 game, a
Xbox 360 game, and a DVD set and left the store without paying
for said items.
Criminal Trespass 4:56 a.m. October 27, at Freeburg Fire Company, in the Freeburg Borough. A known male, 52, of Freeburg, entered the Freeburg Fire Company building without having permission to do so.
Retail Theft 3:40 p.m. November 18, at Hilsher’s General Store,
in Union Township. A known male, 25, of Port Trevorton, entered
Hilsher’s Store and took two packs of cigarettes and left the store
without paying for them.
Crash 1:39 p.m. November 22, on SR 11/15 N., just north of Bridge
Street, in Union Township. A 1994 Geo Tracker driven by Casey L.
Orris, 19, of Millerstown, was traveling north on SR 11/15. A 2007
Dodge Caliber driven by Megan E. Van Der Pool, 28, of Northumberland, was also traveling north on SR 11/15 approaching the rear
of Orris’s vehicle. Van Der Pool fell asleep at the wheel and struck
the rear of Orris’s vehicle. Both vehicles were disabled at the scene.
No injuries were reported. Van Der Pool was cited for careless driving.
Crash 1:50 p.m. November 28, on N. Susquehanna Trail (SR
11/15), 131 feet north of Nina Drive, in Monroe Township. A 2007
Nissan Maxima driven by Nicholas W. Kovaschetz, 29, of Selinsgrove, was traveling north on SR 11/15. A 2006 Toyota Corolla
driven by Ranee G. Lysak, 21, of Northumberland and a 2013 Ford
Explorer driven by Andrew C. Cole, 46, of Lititz, were traveling
forward slowly due to a high traffic volume. Kovaschetz’s vehicle
struck the rear of Lysak’s vehicle forcing it into the rear of Cole’s
vehicle. After initial impact Kovaschetz’s vehicle and Lysak’s vehicle came to rest in the left lane of SR 11/15 facing north. Cole
pulled forward into a left turn lane to avoid blocking traffic. Kovaschetz sustained minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Kovaschetz was cited for following too closely.
MIDDLEBURG POLICE
Hit and Run 12:15-12:20 p.m. November 25, at the Snyder County
Courthouse, on W. Market Street, in Middleburg. A know female reported to police that her 2003 Toyota sedan was struck while parked
along West Market Street in front of the Snyder County Courthouse.
Police learned that an unknown vehicle struck the driver side mirror causing damage to the vehicle and left the scene. Anyone with
information is asked to contact police at 570-837-0321.
DUI 3:47 a.m. October 27, on E. Main Street, in Middleburg. Police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle operating in a reckless
manner in Middleburg. Police located the vehicle in question and
conducted a traffic stop on the 2011 Chevy truck. The driver Kevin
L. Heckman, 28, of Middleburg, was suspected of driving while
impaired by an unknown drug. He was taken into custody and transported for a legal blood draw. Blood test findings showed Heckman
had Morphine-Free in his system. He was charged with DUI and
other offenses.

family annually does a
home-made
apple butter
fundraiser to benefit a local cause, and this year they chose
Mandy’s Miracle. The fund monies will help pay uninsured
transplant expenses for Amanda “Mandy” Eisenhauer, a Selinsgrove native who has cystic fibrosis (CF) and is waiting for a
double lung transplant.
