THURSDAY, JULY 8,2010
The Moorland Township Board of Trustees met Thursday, July 8, 2010, at7:00 p.m. and
was called to order by Supervisor Krepps. Krepps led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the
Flag.
Members Present: Supervisor Chuck Krepps, Clerk Rose Spoelman, Treasurer Maureen
Hogan, Trustees Mary Pierson and Dan Nutt.
Others in Attendance: Fire Chief Dale Wolverton, One (1) firefighter; Planning
Commission President Tim Hendges, Administrative Assistant Brooke Slagle and media.
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF' AGENDA
Motion by Krepps to approve the agenda as written, seconded by Pierson and the motion
passed by the following votes: Ayes: (5)
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF JUNE 10.2010 MINUTES
Two changes needed to be made to the June 10, 2010 minutes. Date of the new clerk's
term ending should read2012, also under Old Business; motion to go into Closed Session
should read three (3) Ayes: Nutt, Krepps, and Hogan. Two (2) Nays: Pierson, Spoelman.
Motion by Krepps to approve the minutes with corrections, seconded by Spoelman.

SUBJECT: TREAST]RERS REPORT
to accept the Treasurer's Report for the Fire Fund as presented.

seconded the motion and it passed by the following votes: Ayes: (5)
Motion by Spoelman to accept the Treasurer's Report for General Fund Bills as
presented. Pierson seconded the motion and it passed by the following votes:

SUBJECT: FIRE CHIEFS REPORT
Runs for June 2010- Chief Wolverton reported nine (9) call for June 2010; six (6)
medical, one (1) good intent, and two (2) fire.
Bids of TV for Training- Chief Wolverton did not acquire bids for TV at this
time, but stated that Kmart had one for about Three hundred dollars ($300.00).
Wolverton will have bids next month.
Chief Wolverton is back to his duties with restriction from the doctor as of June
28,2010.
SUBJECT: BUILDING REPORT
Krepps stated that there was nothing to report.
SUBJECT: PLAhINING COMMISSIOhI REPORT
Tim Hedges, Planning Commission President, shared with the Board the information
gathered with the shared meeting with Egelston Township Planning Commission on
windmills.
SUBJECT: PUBLIC COMMENT
None
SUBJECT: OLD BTJSINESS
to accept bid from VanAndel Propane for propane services,
which will be no more than $1 .79 per gallon for two heating seasons. Nutt
seconded the motion and it passed by the following votes: Ayes: (5)
Motion by Krepps to accept the Employee Background Check Policy. Pierson
seconded the motion and it passed by the following votes: Ayes: (5)

SUBJECT: NEW BUSINESS
Motion by Krepps to give the Administrative Assistant, Brooke Slagle, one dollar
($1.00; an hour raise. Pierson seconded the motion, stating Brooke has been very
helpful and is full of information, and the motion passed by the following votes:

Motion by Spoelman to approve the Precinct Workers for the Primary. Krepps
seconded the motion and it passed by the following votes: Ayes: (5)
Motion by Spoelman to discuss sending minutes to the Ravenna Independent,
seconded by Hogan. After much discussion, motion by Krepps to table the
previous motion until Spoelman does some more research on the subject. Hogan
seconded the motion and it passed by the following votes: Ayes: (5)

SUBJECT: ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Krepps to adjourn at7:47 p.m. Spoelman seconded the motion and it passed
