LJETNA ŠKOLA – GRČKA

Na Plesu
Kada je na Klasičnu gimnaziju stigao poziv za sudjelovanje na Ljetnoj školi u Ateni, u
projektu „Platonova Akademija: Znanje i razvoj ideja“ u organizaciji Zaklade Onassis i
Zaklade kulturnog centra Alexander S. Onassis bili smo oduševljeni, ali u nevjerici. Trebalo
je brzo i pomno izabrati petnaest izvrsnih učenika, pratitelja, obavijestiti roditelje, skupiti sva
potrebna dopuštenja, ispuniti obrasce...no, Zeus nam je bio naklonjen.
Tijekom čitavog našeg putovanja u prošlost, u kolijevku antičke mudrosti i obrazovanja,
Grčku, bodrile su nas riječi jedne majke da trud, rad i znanje kad tad uberu svoje plodove.
Dok smo se na aerodromu Pleso u Zagrebu opraštali od roditelja već smo u mislima bili s
učenicima Srednje škole Kilkis (nedaleko Tesalonikija) s kojima ćemo provesti dva
nezaboravna tjedna. Nakon toplog dočeka na aerodromu Eleutherios Venizelos (osnivač
moderne Grčke) i usijanog popodnevnog atenskog zraka, dočekalo nas je pravo osvježenje u
konferencijskoj dvorani hotela Illisos, smještenog 10-ak minuta hoda do Akropole.
Nasmiješena grupa mladih, a među njima i naše koordinatorice Ermioni i Fivi čija su
komunikativnost, susretljivost i snalažljivost uljepšale naš boravak u Grčkoj. Odmah smo
naučili prve riječi na grčkom jeziku, a svima se naročito dopao tsatsiki i kao riječ i kao jelo.
Piće dobrodošlice ispili smo na krovnoj terasi hotela odakle se pružao fantastičan pogled na
kolijevku europske demokracije u kojem smo svakodnevno uživali.
Sljedeće jutro proveli smo u Atenskom Planetariju, najvećem i najbolje opremljenom
digitalnom planetariju na svijetu. Nakon putovanja u prostoru i vremenu, popodne smo
proveli s profesoricom Mari Stefanou koja je bila naša glavna predavačica tijekom čitavog
boravka u Ateni. Na nizu zanimljivih predavanja doznali smo sve o svakodnevnom životu u
Grčkoj, o prometu i ekonomiji, zabavi i obrazovanju, obitelji i tradicionalnoj grčkoj kuhinji,
povijesti i filozofiji...

Slijedila je ceremonija otvaranja ljetnje škole koja je uključivala riječi dobrodošlice od strane
organizatora i upoznavanja povijesti Zaklade Aleksandar Onassis i Onassis kulturnog centra
te prezentacije škola zemalja sudionica.
Nakon predavanja o grčkoj povijesti pokušali smo naučiti što više riječi iz svakodnevice na
interaktivnoj radionici s učenicima iz Kilkisa i njihovom predavačicom prof. Anastazijom
Kefala. Izgovor pojedinih riječi s jedne i druge strane izazivao bi povremeno salve smijeha.
Sva smo ta znanja napokon upotrijebili na završnoj prezentaciji uspoređujući grčke i hrvatske
običaje, kulturu, hranu, povijest...
Ispred Onassis Kulturnog Centra
Bila nam je posebna čast slušati predavanje profesora dr. Evangelosa N. Moudrianakisa s
američkog Fakulteta John Hopkins (odjel za biologiju), u predavaonici Starog atenskog
fakulteta na Plaki i u starom hramu znanja čuti najnovije informacije o epigenetici i ponoviti
neka već usvojena znanja iz biologije na zorni način.
Dvodnevni izlet u antičku Olimpiju, osim zajedničkog gledanja otvaranja Olimpijskih igara u
Londonu (27.7.2012.) i kupanja u hotelskom bazenu, sastojao se od predavanja arheologa
Kostasa, posjeta Arheološkom muzeju u Olimpiji i arheološkom lokalitetu. Bez obzira na
vrućinu, zanimljivim izlaganjem i živopisnim opisima Kostas nas je vodio do najuzbudljivijeg
mjesta u antičkoj Olimpiji, stadiona. Tu su učenici Klasične gimnazije odnijevši pobjedu
dobili vijence od maslinovih grana koje im je svojom rukom načinila prof. Sofia Karalazarou,
pratiteljica grupe učenika iz Kilkisa. Kao i u antička vremena svi smo bili na okupu, sretni i
uživali u zajedničkim trenutcima.
Arheolog Kostas
Pred nama su bili novi izazovi i već nas je sljedećeg jutra u Atenskom arheološkom muzeju
čekala gospođa Haris. Pod njenim odličnim stručnim vodstvom pred nama je oživio čitav
mikenski svijet i najvažnije skulpture arhajskog i klasičnog perioda grčke umjetnosti. U pauzi
smo osvježenje potražili u obližnjem parku veseleći se popodnevnoj radionici – izradi maski.
Sada su do izražaja došle kreativnost i razigranost svih sudionika pod vodstvom umjetnika
gosp. Tomasa. Boje i smijeh posvuda. Te iste maske učenici su upotrijebili u koreografiji pod
vodstvom gđe. Maritse Vinieratou na cjelojutarnjoj plesnoj radionici. Tematski se na
radionice nadovezala naša predavačica: govorila je o grčkoj drami i povijesti grčkog
pjesništva. Osim tragičkog trolista pred nama se našli mnogobrojni pjesnici od Elizabeth
Moutzan Martinegou do Seferisa, Elytisa i Kavafisa. Bio je užitak slušati pjesmu Itaka uz
glazbu Vangelisa i recitaciju omiljenog mi Seana Connerya.
Kroz pregled povijesti filozofije odnosno „nastojanja i djelatnosti onih što teže za mudrošću“
vodile su nas istina, (ne)znanje, vrlina, pravda, etičnost i drugi pojmovi koje su stari Grci
osvijestili Sokratovim riječima Οἶδα ὅτι οὐδὲν οἶδα.
O povijesti moderne Grčke i prilika na Balkanu nekada i sada saznali smo mnogobrojne
zanimljivosti od mladog profesora s Ciparskog i Atenskog sveučilišta. Učenici su se aktivno
uključivali u diskusiju i odgovarali na pitanja te time još jednom dokazali da odlično poznaju i
zanimaju se za povijesnu građu, jer βαρὺ ἀπαιδευσία. Neobrazovanost je pogubna!

Jedno jutro proveli smo u nezaboravnom razgledu Agore, Akropole i Novog muzeja Akropole
u pratnji gospođe Nefeli. Kamo god smo pogledavali ipak je naš pogled neprestano plijenio
suncem obasjani Partenon, najljepši spomenik u Ateni. U Muzeju smo se divili Karijatidama,
smještaju najdragocjenijih spomenika antičke baštine i pogledu na „Svetu stijenu“.
Naši domaćini
Posebno mjesto u programu ljetne škole zauzelo je predavanje poznatog grčkog dirigenta
Miltosa Logiadisa kojim nas je sa svijetom glazbe pokušao upoznati iz svoje perspektive na
vrlo zabavan način. Svi smo uživali promatrajući strastvene nastupe najpoznatijih svjetskih
dirigenata Fürtwangera, Von Karajana, Menuhina, Bernsteina.
Prije odlaska u Arheološki park Platonova Akademija naša koordinatorica Ermioni pustila je
prigodni film didaktičkog sadržaja, a zatim smo pod njenim stručnim vodstvom obišli ostatke
palestre i peristila Platonove Akademije, najpoznatije atenske filozofske škole. Bili smo u
svijetu razmjene ideja, a jedna od super ideja bila je ručak u parku.
Najtopliji dan našeg boravka na ljetnoj školi proveli smo u razgledu Korintskog kanala,
„zlatom bogate“ Mikene i Epidaura, a taverna u Navplionu, prvom glavnom gradu moderne
Grčke, bila je još jedna prilika za ugodno druženje i kušanje odlične grčke hrane. Iskušavajući
akustiku u Epidauru naši su učenici recitirali Homerove stihove i pjevali na veselje turista i
svih nas.
Bilo je vremena i za shopping i za kupanje na najpopularnijim atenskim plažama, a
najzabavniji dio dvotjednog programa bilo je grčko-hrvatsko uvježbavanje i izvođenje
hrvatske narodne pjesme Letovanić i pjesme Gaudeamus te pjesme Epitafios Seikilos i pjesme
Milo mou kokinno (Moja crvena jabuko) uz narodni ples. Našim grčkim prijateljima
pripremili smo srdačne hrvatske poklone – licitarska srca, propagandni materijale iz turističke
zajednice, slatkiše..... i nastup za koji smo imali malo vremena, ali bili smo jedinstveni,
odlučni, inventivni i kreativni, upravo onakvi kakvi i moraju biti mladi Europljani 21.

When the invitation for the participation of foreign high students at the Summer School in
Athens had arrived to Classical High School in Zagreb, Croatia, we were thrilled but in
disbelief. The project entitled "Plato's Academy: Knowledge and pioneering ideas
development " offering various topics was the best way for our students to get acquainted
with all major developments in different fields that took place in Greece.
We have carefully chosen fifteen excellent students, informed the parents, gathered all the
necessary permits, filled out the forms ... the dice of Zeus always fall luckily!
Throughout our journey into the past, to the cradle of ancient wisdom and education, Greece,
we were greatly encouraged by words of one mother that knowledge and effort yield success.
As we gathered at the airport Pleso in Zagreb, saying goodbye to our dearest, we were already
in our thoughts with students of the High School of Kilkis (near Thesaloniki), with whom we
spend two unforgettable weeks. After the warm welcome at the airport Eleutherios Venizelos
(the founder of modern Greece), and Athens hot afternoon air, real refreshment waited for us
in the conference hall of the hotel Illisos.

first word in the Greek language, and everyone liked tsatsiki especially as word and as a dish.
We drank a welcome drink on the rooftop terrace of the hotel which offered a fantastic view
of the cradle of European democracy in which we enjoy every day.
The next morning we spent in Athens Planetarium, the largest and best equipped digital
planetarium in the world. After traveling in space and time, we spent the afternoon with
Professor Mari Stefanou, which was our main lecturer throughout their stay in Athens. On a
series of interesting lectures, we learned all about the daily life in Greece, traffic and
economics, entertainment and education, family and traditional Greek cuisine, history and
philosophy ...
The opening ceremony was followed by a summer school which included welcoming remarks
by the organizers and to explore the history of the Foundation and the Alexander Onassis
Onassis Cultural Centre and school presentations of the participating countries.
After lectures on Greek history, we tried to learn as many words from the everyday interactive
workshop with students in Kilkis and their lecturer Professor. Anastasius Cephas.
Pronunciation of individual words from both sides would occasionally provoked laughter. All
we finally used this knowledge to the final presentation comparing Greek and Croatian
customs, culture, food, history ...
It was an honor to listen to a special lecture by Professor Dr. Evangelos N. Moudrianakisa
with American John Hopkins University School (Department of Biology), in the auditorium
of the Old School of Athens in the Plaka old temple to hear the latest knowledge about
epigenetici and repeat some already acquired knowledge in biology at vivid way.
The two-day trip to Ancient Olympia, except for common viewing opening of the Olympic
Games in London (27.07.2012.) And swimming in the hotel pool consisted of lectures by
archaeologists Kostas, visit the Archaeological Museum of Olympia and the archaeological
site. Regardless of the heat, exposure to interesting and vivid descriptions Kostas led us to the
most exciting places in Ancient Olympia, the stadium. There are classic high school students
get the victory by winning wreaths of olive branches to them with his hand made a professor.

Ahead of us were the challenges and give us the next morning in the Athens Archaeological
Museum awaited Mrs. Haris. Under her excellent professional guidance before us has revived
a Mycenaean world and the most important sculptures of the Archaic and Classical periods of
Greek art. During the break we sought refreshment in the park rejoicing afternoon workshop making masks. Now they have come to the fore the creativity and playfulness of all
participants under the leadership of Mr. artists. Tomas. Color and laughter everywhere. These
same students are masks used in choreography under the direction of Mrs.. Maritsa Vinieratou

many poets from Elizabeth Moutzan Martinegou to Seferis, Elytis and Kavafisa. It was a
pleasure to listen to a song with music by Vangelis Ithaca and recitation my favorite Sean
Connery.
Through a review of the history of philosophy that "efforts and activities of those who strive
for wisdom," They took us the truth, (no) knowledge, virtue, justice, ethics, and other
concepts which the ancient Greeks aware of Socrates' words Οἶδα ὅτι οὐδὲν οἶδα.
About the history of modern Greece and the situation in the Balkans now and then we learned
many interesting things from a young professor from the University of Athens and Cyprus.
Students are actively involved in the discussion and respond to questions, and thus once again
proved an excellent knowledge and interest for the historical material.
One morning we spent an unforgettable tour of Agora, the Acropolis and the New Acropolis
Museum, accompanied by Mrs. Nefeli. Wherever we eyed our view however is continually
fascinated sunlit Parthenon, the most beautiful monument in Athens. In the museum we
admired Caryatids, placed the most precious monuments of ancient heritage and respect the
"sacred rock".
A special place in summer school took the famous talk Greek conductor Miltos Logiadisa us
that the world of music tried to learn from their perspective in a very entertaining way. We all
enjoyed watching the passionate performances of the world's greatest conductors
Fürtwangera, Von Karajan, Menuhin, Bernstein.
Before going to the Archaeological Park of Plato's Academy is our coordinator Ermioni
released a promotional film didactic content, and then we are under her expert guidance and
visited the remains of the sala peristyle Platonic Academy, the most famous Athenian
philosophical schools. We were in the world to exchange ideas, and one of great ideas was
lunch in the park.
The warmest day of our stay at the summer school, we conducted the tour of the Corinth
Canal, "rich in gold" of Mycenae and Epidaurus, a tavern Navplionu first capital of modern
Greece was another opportunity for pleasant company and great tasting Greek food. Laboring
acoustics of Epidaurus in our students recited the Homeric poems and sang to the delight of
tourists and all of us.
It was time for shopping and swimming at Athens' most popular beaches, and the funniest part
of the two-week program was a Greek-Croatian practicing and performing Letovanic Croatian
folk songs and songs and songs Gaudeamus Epitafios Seikilos and Milo mou kokinno songs
and folk dances. To prepare the show, we had a little time, but we were unique, determined,
