Adoration of The Eucharist
If Jesus were actually visible in church, everyone
would run to welcome Him, but He remains hidden
in the Sacred Host under the appearance of Bread,
because He is calling us to faith, that we many
come to Him in humility. "The Blessed Sacrament is
the “Living Heart” of each of our churches and it is
our very sweet duty to honor and adore the Blessed
Host, which our eyes see, the Incarnate Word, Whom
they cannot see." (Pope Paul VI, Credo of the People
of God) Consider spending one hour each week in
Adoration of Our Eucharistic LORD. You will be so
glad you did! Call the office for times or
email: [email protected].
The Social & Charitable Club
The Social & Charitable Club is asking the parish for individual servings of non perishable foods: cans of Vienna
Sausages, tuna, fruit, applesauce, pudding, chips, crackers,
fruit or granola bars and bottled water to be placed in
the wooden box located by the elevator.
And lets not forget our Veterans. We also provide them
with care packages so we are always in need of the following items: Underwear, house shoes, shampoo, t-shirts,
toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, sweat pants/tops, deodorant and soap.

Back to School Prayer
Father of all mercies
We ask that you would bless
the youngest and littlest of learners,
the most helpless and powerless of persons,
with Your infinite and loving mercy,
granting them the strength to learn, concentrate,
and act appropriately towards their teachers and fellow
students.
We also ask that You would watch over them,
at home and at school
and grant them proper direction so that they may learn
of Your wonderful virtues.
We ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen

Let’s Celebrate Sister Susan !
After many years of faithful service to St. Joseph's Old
Cathedral, the Carmelite Sisters of Villa Teresa have decided, that our beloved Sr. Susan Clark, CST, is not going
to return to be a full-time member of our staff this coming
fall. Sr. Susan usually takes the summers off, but her superiors have decided that she needs to slow down a bit and
move in another direction. As pastor, I tried to find a compromise, but the decision had been made and we support
Sr. Susan in her vocation and understand the vow of Holy
Obedience.
We will have a celebration to thank Sr. Susan for her many
years of faithful ministry as the summer concludes. Details will be announced in the weeks ahead.

Weekly Flowers
St. Joseph Old Cathedral accepts donations for the
Weekly Flowers that adorn the altar. Flowers for the
church can fittingly mark the anniversary of a birth, baptism, confirmation, marriage or death, or may be used as
an expression of joy & thanksgiving at any time.
When flowers are given in thanksgiving or as a memorial,
a special prayer is offered & an announcement is printed in
the Sunday bulletin.
If you would like to donate flowers there is a signup
sheet on the information table at the back of church
or contact the church office at 235-4565.
Tabernacle & Altar Candles
Would you like to provide Candles for the Altar
In memory of a loved one or for a special prayer intention?
St. Joseph Altar Society is accepting donations for
Altar Candles & Tabernacle Light. For a $150.00 donation
the Candles on the Altar will burn at each Mass for the
entire month or for a donation of $100.00 the Tabernacle
Light will burn continuously for 7 days as a vigil for your
special prayer intention.
With your donation a special prayer is offered & an announcement is printed in the Sunday bulletin. If you would
like to make a donation please
contact Denise Waters at 659-1324 or the Church
Office at 235-4565.
Altar Candles
This month the Altar Candles are burning for baby
Gabriel Thompson that continues to fight for his life
every day. Please join us in praying that God heals
his little body.
