Our body and and our cochlea is made of water so we can’t argue about
sound waves are affecting us deeply. “An interesting consideration is
the phenomenon of the octave. Why is it, when we consider the audible
frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 KHz, we perceive a series of points
along this scale that we can consider as having the same “quality” while
patently being a different note? Part of the explanation may be that if we
take a bi-lateral cross section through the cochlea, that part of the ear’s
mechanism responsible for converting acoustic energy into electrical
impulses, it reveals a spiral shape which can be described mathematically
by a Fibonacci Series; the same maths govern the principles of the harmonic series. Neuro-pathology of the ear shows that octaves are decoded
at the same point in each layer of the spiral. Some experts maintain that
if the cochlea was a straight cone, rather than a tightly-wound spiral, we
would have no perception of the octave at all; all we would hear would be
a series of successively rising tones.”
According to Richard Huisken, music tuned to 432 Hz is softer
and brighter, giving greater clarity and is easier on the ears. Many people
experience more meditative and relaxing states of body and mind when
listening to such music. The natural musical pitch of the universe gives a
more harmonic and pleasant sound than 440 Hz.
According to Brain T. Collins, a musician and researcher, the
standard pitch (A=440 Hz) does not harmonize on any level that corresponds to cosmic movement, rhythm, or natural vibration. The greatest musicians, such as Mozart and Verdi, based their music on the natural vibration of A=432. It’s true that it is only 8 vibrations per second
different from the standard tuning, but this small difference seems to be
remarkable to our human consciousness.
“It is interesting to note that 432 Hz was the standard pitch of
many old instruments, and that it was only recently (19th and 20th century) that the standard pitch was increased. This was done in order to be
able to play for bigger audiences. Bigger audiences (more bodies) absorb
more of the lower frequencies, so the higher pitch was more likely to “cut
through. One of the oldest instruments of the world is the bell ensemble
of Yi Zeng (dated 423 BC). It is tuned to a standard F4 of 345 Hz, which
gives an A= 432 Hz. The frequency of 345 Hz is that of the platonic year!
Similarly many old organs are tuned in an A=432 as well. (for example St.
Peter’s Capella Gregoriana, St. Peter’s Capella Giulia, S. Maria Maggiore
in Rome) In the above calculation from F to A i have used the calculation
of equal temperament.”
“The ancients tuned their instruments at an A of 432 Hz instead
of 440 Hz – and for a good reason. There are plenty of music examples
on the internet that you can listen to, in order to establish the difference
for yourself. Attuning the instrument to 432 Hz results in a more relaxing sound, while 440 Hz slightly tenses up to body. This is because 440 Hz
is out of tune with both macrocosmos and microcosmos. 432 Hz on the
contrary is in tune. To give an example of how this is manifested microcosmically: our breath (0,3 Hz) and our puls (1,2 Hz) relate to the frequency of the lower octave of an A of 432 Hz (108 Hz) as 1:360 and 1:90.”
According to Ananda Bosman, international researcher and
musician, archaic Egyptian instruments that have been unearthed are
largely tuned to A=432Hz. Ancient Greeks tuned their instruments predominantly to 432Hz. Within the archaic Greek Eleusenian Mysteries,
Orpheus is the god of music, death and rebirth, and was the keeper of the
Ambrosia and the music of transformation. His instruments were tuned
at 432Hz.
