The Lodge at Bryce Canyon
This lodge, built in 1924, is walking distance from a rim overlook. Motel units with balconies are
offered as well as spacious duplex cabins with gas fireplaces and relaxing front porches. The professional and helpful staff are eager to assist guests with booking horseback riding tours.
CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK, Oregon
Crater Lake Lodge
This 1915 lodge adjacent to Crater Lake has a great hall with timber supports and a stone fireplace.
Many rooms offer stunning views of the lake; some have a loft and some a claw-foot tub. A small
on-site museum has a pictorial history of the area.
Cabins at Mazama Village
These four-plex chalet-style cabins are in a wooded area just minutes from the gift shop and convenience store. The guest rooms are nicely coordinated and have comfortable wood furnishings.
DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK, California

Baths formed by natural springs are featured on the grounds of this imposing Mission-style inn

built. The dining room overlooks majestic mountains and a flowing river.
Denali Bluffs Hotel
This property is perched just above the highway. Request a mountain or valley view. Guest rooms
are compact but very comfortable. The grounds are attractively landscaped, giving this property
extra charm.
McKinley Creekside Cabins
& Cafe
Several charming, cozy cabins are located on several acres. The décor is modest, yet comfortable.
The pathways among the cabins are not paved and are quite rocky as the property sits by a river.
The on-site restaurant is open all day. A recently added pavillion by the river offers covered seating,
BBQ and fire pit.

McKinley Chalet Resort
Mostly geared for cruise ship and train trip passengers, the hotel offers rooms to road trip travelers
based on availability. Guest rooms are set in buildings spread over a number of acres. Many rooms
are right along the river.
Denali Cabins
South of the Denali National Park entrance sit these rustic cabins. For a quiet mountain retreat, try a
visit here. You'll find a variety of room styles, all surrounding the comfortable hot tub.

This distinctive lodge sits at the end of Denali Park Road, one of the greatest drives on earth for
wildlife viewing and adventurous souls. Whether you come for an overnight stay or for a day trip to
enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant, you won't be disappointed. Plan ahead, though, because the
trip inside Denali National Park and Preserve takes about 6 hours and is only accessible by special
motor coach since cars are not allowed in the park.

Apgar Village Lodge
This property is situated directly in the middle of Apgar Village just inside the western entrance to
Glacier National Park. The charming cabins are rustic and have low ceilings. With shops, restaurants
and park service offices, it is always a busy place.
Many Glacier Hotel
Swiss chalet-style buildings are set among the backdrop of stunning glacial peaks and a mountain
lake. Find boat rentals on site, as well as numerous trail heads into the backcountry wilderness. The
large lobby is decorated in a rustic pioneer motif. Expect small, cozy guest units. A hootenanny—a
folksy singing show—is performed by the staff.
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Arizona
Thunderbird Lodge
The property sits close to the edge of the Grand Canyon and is within walking distance of two sitdown restaurants. The rooms are limited in size, but modern and display black and white canyon
photos.

Red Feather Lodge

This property is located next to the National Geographic Grand Canyon Visitors Center and offers a
suites-only building. The restaurant caters to huge bus tours during lunch.

Grand Canyon Squire Inn
This spread-out property provides rooms in three separate buildings. A few rooms are very small.
The public areas are expansive and include a small bowling alley and game room. Many room rates
do not include breakfast.
Maswik Lodge
Just a short distance to the canyon rim, this lodge offers a wide range of traditional motel rooms
in separate buildings. The rooms are still equipped with "tube" TVs and basic bedspreads. Wi-Fi is
available in the south section.
Yavapai Lodge
This lodge is located next to the visitors center and offers traditional motel-style rooms nestled on
several acres of wooded terrain.
Kaibab Lodge
This mid-range property is located on the remote North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

On several acres, this historical lodge overlooks the canyon. Varied accommodations include small
rustic cabins, newer cottages and motel units. A few cottages have canyon views.
Bright Angel Lodge

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyoming
Jenny Lake Lodge
At the foot of the majestic Tetons, log cabins are named after wildflowers and offer hardwood floors,
area rugs, high-beamed ceilings, pine furnishings, upscale bedding and thoughtful amenities. Each
cabin has two upscale leather rocking chairs on the front porch. Some rooms offer a sofa bed and/
or jetted bathtub. Numerous recreational activities are planned for all ages during the day and night.
Yoga instruction on a special lawn area is available once a week.
Jackson Lake Lodge
This impressive lodge is set on spacious grounds. Numerous seating arrangements on and below the
mezzanine have views that will take your breath away; they are what postcards are made of. A selection of well-appointed four-plex style cottages featuring upscale bathrooms are available outside and
surround the property. The interior rooms in the main lodge are also beautifully furnished with custom
bedding and feature the same upscale bathroom; some offer a balcony or patio. Spend a little extra
for a larger room, it's worth the splurge. Also, an elevator is only available in the main lodge.
Signal Mountain Lodge
This marina resort offers a variety of lodge guest rooms and lakefront suites. The historic rustic log
cabins are small and nicely appointed. The upscale lobby area offers magnificent views. Restaurants,
amenities and recreational activities are available on site. If you are traveling with family, friends or
a small group, be sure to inquire about rooms with a sofa bed. Many rooms feature a covered porch
with lake views, some offer a jetted bathtub.
Headwaters Lodge &
Cabins at Flagg Ranch
The main lodge has a spacious log-cabin exterior. Duplex motel-style cabins feature attractive
bedding with multiple accents and a covered patio with rocking chairs. Some of the cabins offer
stunning views of the Tetons.
Togwotee Mountain Lodge
In a majestic setting, the warm and inviting main lodge offers guest rooms on the second level.
Popular family suites on the third level feature bunk beds. All rooms have upscale bedding. The
family units offer a refrigerator and microwave. Also, the property has western-style stand-alone
log cabins with a refrigerator, microwave, small covered porch and picnic table. Many recreational
activities are offered and horseback riding is available. In addition, you can snowmobile to and from
the lodge or cabins.
GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL PARK AND PRESERVE, Colorado
Great Sand Dunes Lodge
At the foot of a majestic mountain range, this quaint, peaceful motel offers comfortable guest
rooms, each with a patio and incredible views. Sit on your patio and take in the Dunes while watching the sunset or wait until after dark to revel in the night sky.
HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK, Hawaii
Volcano House
This recently restored historic lodging offers caldera vistas and is located within Hawaii Volcanoes
National Park. The primitive cabins managed by the hotel are not AAA inspected or approved. Some
guest rooms come with a small gas fireplace.
ISLE ROYALE NATIONAL PARK, Michigan
Rock Harbor Lodge
An exceptionally scenic wilderness island is the setting for this lodge. Guests must arrange their
own transportation out to the island via a boat, ferry or sea plane. The sea plane is a 35-minute flight
while the ferry or boat ride is at least 3 hours.

LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK, California
Drakesbad Guest Ranch
Set in the western central portion of Lassen National Forest in the shadow of Lassen Peak, this
facility is simple in design and features a natural hot spring pool. Horseback riding is also available.
Although lodge rooms are on generators, the cabins are electricity free. Getting there is part of
the challenge during your stay at this very rustic and basic accommodation. National Park Service
Rangers are helpful with directions and cautions as to road conditions. The property has a very
limited open season, usually the first week in June until the first week in October.
MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL PARK, Kentucky
Mammoth Cave Hotel
Both rustic and modern options are available at this national park property deep in the south
Kentucky woods. Guest room walls are decorated with vintage park photos. Pets enjoy a free on-site
kennel. Despite the on-site kennel, pets are permitted at the Woodland Cottages, which are available
in the summer months only. As seasons change, so do the available accommodations. Visitors interested in the off-season should call for confirmation of availability in winter months.
MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK, Colorado
Far View Lodge
On the summit of a hill, this older motel consists of multiple guestroom buildings and a main lodge.
Each room has a balcony for visitors to enjoy the stunning mountain views surrounding the property. One staff member said, 'Every room has a view, it's just a different view from the rest.'

Located just outside the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park, guests enjoy cozy chalet-style suites

Simple guest units put the focus on the outdoors at this mountain lodge, which was built in 1917,

Built in 1926, the lodge is nestled in the forest and affords sweeping views of Mount Rainier and
is on the National Register of Historic Places. The inn's general store and gift shop are located in a
vintage 1911 log cabin nearby. The large front porch offers stunning views, especially at sunset.
OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK, Washington
Lake Crescent Lodge
Originally built as Singer's Tavern, the lodge saw its first construction in 1916. Located on the west
side of Lake Crescent, it now offers cabins, motor lodge rooms and cottages with fireplaces.
SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK, California

Situated in the Sequoia National Park, this mountain lodge offers many hiking and walking trails.
Hop onto the free shuttle and enjoy a carefree park tour. All rooms offer mountain or treetop views.

the public area. All rooms are located above a convenience store and tourist gift shop.
VIRGIN ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK, Virgin Islands
Caneel Bay Resort
Sitting on 170 acres of an old sugar plantation surrounded by Virgin Islands National Park, which
adds to the feeling of seclusion. Rooms are spacious with an understated elegance.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyoming
Shoshone Lodge
Only a few miles from Yellowstone, this lodge is tucked away in the trees. Cabins have names such
as Tatonka Teepee and Eagles Nest. The log main building boasts three fireplaces for cozying up to.

in the heart of your Yellowstone National Park adventure.
Lake Yellowstone Hotel

The restored 1920s hotel is painted a colorful yellow and it features rustic cabins overlooking
Yellowstone Lake. It recently completed a major interior remodel.

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, California
The Majestic Yosemite

Along with gorgeous park views, this hotel has impressive public areas. A vast great room fills up
in the evenings with those wanting to socialize or just take in the hotel's workmanship and artistry.
Well-appointed and comfortable guest rooms provide a feel for the indigenous beginnings and historical aspect of the park. Due to the historic nature of the property (circa 1927), hotel rooms are a
bit small. Reservations should be made far in advance. As a guest, consider taking the historic hotel
tour provided several times a week by hotel staff.
Yosemite Valley Lodge
This property, on the valley floor, has spectacular views of Yosemite Falls and Half Dome. It has a
wide selection of well-appointed rooms. Have dinner at the Mountain Room Restaurant and enjoy
amazing views through the floor to ceiling windows.
The Redwoods In Yosemite
Inside the southern gate of Yosemite National Park, enjoy comfortably appointed and spacious
mountain vacation homes, each with a large deck and grill. Some offer a jetted tub. Choose from
