Carving Concrete start up meeting
Skate Park Stage 2
A meeting was held with Carving Concrete who was awarded the winning tender for Stage 2 of the
Toodyay Skate Park to discuss potential cost savings. Carving Concrete was open to using local
contractors and sand to help reduce the costs which has saved the Shire approx. $21,000.
Work has commenced at the site with Vernice donating their time and machinery. Thank you to
Therese Chitty for your assistance in sourcing contractors to donating their time and supplies.
Toodyay Sport and Recreation Precinct
Site investigations have commenced into the recreation grounds with the appointment of Project
Directors Australia. This company will lead the forward works planning and has contracted several other
companies to undertake site investigations.
The consultants include: Architects (Peter Hunt), Electrical Engineers, Civil Engineers, Geotechnical
Engineer, Hydraulic Engineer, Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor. These works will commence in
November and will continue for approx. 6 months.
KidSport
The Shire of Toodyay now has its own funds to distribute to the sporting clubs when they have a child
apply for the KidSport funding.

The construction crew is still working on the widening of Bindoon Dewars Pool Road.

The outside staff continued with general duties which included pothole repairs, tree lopping
on various roads, culvert cleaning, guide-post and sign replacement and grave works.
