SIERRA HOOFPRINTS
The Official Newsletter of the Sierra Mustang Club - April 2016
Founded 1981-Sacramento, CA
Dedicated to the Restoration and Preservation of all Ford Mustangs
Mustang of the Month
Every Mustang has a story behind it. If you would like to see your car and its story on the front page of the newsletter,
send a picture of your car and it’s story to the Editor at [email protected]. (Cars selected in order of submittal.)
This month we feature a 1967 Mustang Fastback owned by Brian Barrington
Brian and his son Brody are in the process of taking apart this 1967 Fastback and getting it cleaned up and road
worthy. Brian says, “We plan to get the car back to original as best we can so that we can start enjoying it with
the club. I had a 1967 mustang fastback in High School that I sold. I regretted it ever since.”
The car’s original color was midnight blue with black interior. It has a 289 4V motor in it with a 4 speed transmission. Brian and Brody found the car in a Sacramento apartment complex and purchased it from a young man
who got if from his father, who was the 2nd owner of the car. The son wasn’t really into cars so he sold it.
Brian and Brody hope to have the car road worthy and lookin’ good in the next 12 months!

MONEY DRAWING
The Money Drawing winner at the March meeting was Joanie Frantzen.
The question was: Which American State is nearest to the former USSR?
What does this have to do with Mustangs? ...not a thing, but the answer
is “Alaska”. Be there to answer the question and win if your name is
drawn!
The primary purpose of the Sierra Mustang Club is
to promote the enjoyment and preservation of ALL
Ford Mustangs. Membership is open to all Mustang
enthusiasts. Any individual or family who enjoys
Mustangs may join. Owning a Mustang is not necessary to belong to our club. We mainly want your
enthusiasm. Primary member's dues are $25.00 per
year (January through December). Associate member's dues are $5.00 per year. The general membership meetings are held once a month and begin at
6:30 PM unless otherwise noted. See the calendar for
meeting locations and dates. The December meeting
takes place at our annual party at a location to be announced. Benefits of membership include a monthly
newsletter (SIERRA HOOF PRINTS), FREE classified advertisements and discounts at various local
Ford dealerships and participating vendors and a one
day admission to the California Auto Museum. At
least one club sponsored event is held each month.
Events include activities such as: picnics, car shows,
rallies, charitable events, parades, after meeting socials, Holiday party, and a lot of fun...fun...fun!!!

NORTH TO ALASKA — Last Call!
Calling all Mustang enthusiasts and their friends to join our upcoming cruise to Alaska. We’ll be sailing this Sept. 2-9 (over Labor
Day Weekend). We will start the cruise and end in Seattle, traveling on the newly refurbished Explorer of the Seas. In addition to
cruising through the Inside Passage and Tracy Arm Fjord, we will have stops in Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, British Columbia. In
Juneau, fun excursions include a visit to Mendenhall Glacier or to a Salmon Bake. In Skagway, riding the historic train and visiting a
dog musher's camp can be highlights. Victoria has Buchart Gardens, tea at the Empress Hotel, a wonderful waterfront area, and a
hop on/hop off bus if you want to venture out on your own tour. Prices vary according to whether you're in an inside, oceanview
or balcony cabin. If we have 8 cabins or more sailing with us, each cabin will also receive $100 of credit to use toward onboard
purchases. The cruise line is starting to close out group space that hasn't been booked since the ship is filling. So, it's important to
reserve cabins NOW!! The current special is “Pay for one person, Second person is ½ off”!
Call our coordinating travel agent, Nancy Porter, at 530-391-5650 if you want to join us or want additional information. She can
also be reached via email: [email protected]. Deposit is $250 per person, with final payment due June 5.
We're looking forward to having you sail with us. By the way, you don't need to own a Mustang for this getaway. Nancy
