Race Day! April 13
5k starts at 8:20 am
Half Marathon starts 8 am
What is the timeline for race day?
6-7:30 am Packet Pickup - Huntington Bank Parking Lot, 50 Monroe Ave NW
(No race day registration)
7:15 am - Non Denominational Worship Service at Rosa Parks Circle
7:55 am - National Anthem
We would recommend showing
8 am - Half Marathon start at Rosa Parks Circle
8:20 am - 5k Run and Walk start (Runners should start to line up
up between 6:30 am and 7 am
immediately following the half marathon)
10 am - Award Ceremony (top three overall)
Where should I park?
Click here or visit GazelleGirlHalfMarathon.com for
parking information.
When and where is the race start?
to allow yourself ample time to
find parking and get yourself
prepared for the race.
Gear Check and Rejuvenation
Station can be found in the
Packet Pick Up Tent.
The race will start and finish at Rosa Parks Circle
in downtown Grand Rapids. Address: 135 Monroe
Center St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. The half
marathon will begin at 8 am and the 5k will begin
at 8:20 am.
We recommend arriving about an hour early to
give yourself enough time to park, use the
bathroom (port-a-johns are right near the starting
line - seemap on next page) and make your way to
the starting line.
TIPS:
Prepare the night before! Lay out what you want
to wear, pack your bag and be ready to go.
Where should I line up to get
ready for the start?
Clothes discarded during the run will be picked
up and donated to charity. Please plan to drop
them within the first mile or
at an aid station.
Half Marathon runners should line up according to
pace, with the fastest runners in the front and the
walkers at the back. Please look for the pace signs
to help you figure out where you should line up.
If you are walking the half marathon, please line
up at the end of the line of runners. 5k Runners
should line up AFTER the half marathon runners
have all crossed the starting line. 5k runners
should not line up with the half marathon runners.
Make sure you have everything, especially your
bib, before you leave your vehicle after parking.
You can gear check a small bag. If the forecast
looks like rain, a dry change of clothes or a towel
can be nice to have. Think comfort! Your gear
check number is on your bib. You can tear this
off and we’ll attach it to your bag.
Remember, nothing new on race day!
Wear clothes/shoes/socks you’ve worn before.
Eat similarly to your training runs.
HAVE FUN! Today is a celebration!
Get social! Use #GazelleGirl on Twitter and
Instagram to share photos and inspiration!
Half Marathon: When lining up please look for and line up near the pacer that matches your
pace. They will be holding bright green signs. You do not have to run with a pace group, but
lining up by projected pace helps make for a smooth start! Walkers should line up at the very
back of the line.
5k: There will not be pace groups, but runners should line up with the fastest runners at the
front, and the walkers at the back. Strollers MUST line up after the walkers. Walkers should
line up at the very back of the line.
Please note no strollers will be allowed on the half marathon course.
Absolutely NO bikes allowed.
