Single hung Pella® Impervia energy-efficient
windows with Low-E glass are standard. Made from
patented Duracast® fiberglass composite, these
windows are virtually impervious to extreme weather.
They have the quality and look of painted wood
without the maintenance.
U-Factor Rating. A window’s ability to resist the
transfer of heat. The lower the U-factor, the less heat
is transferred, the more energy-efficient. A U-factor of
.35 is required by most codes, while we include standard
windows with a much improved U-factor of .32.
Design Pressure (DP) Rating. This measures how
resistant the window is to positive and negative air
pressure, wind and rain. The higher the DP rating,
the tighter the window assembly is. A DP 20 is
required by most codes, while we include a window
with an improved DP 30 standard.

Values shown above are for elevations up to 8,500 ft without breather tubes,
and may vary depending on size of window. For higher elevations we recommend casements where small windows may be used, as above a kitchen sink.
For elevations above 8,500 feet please visit www.pella.com.
Standard Single Hung
This style features a fixed
upper sash. Single hung
windows offer a traditional
look and good value. They
are similar to double-hung
windows but only the
bottom sash operates.
Benefits
Excellent window for
value and performance.
Double Hung Tilt
These windows open
vertically, and the sashes
slide up and down.You
can open without consuming exterior space.
The window’s tilt-wash
feature means you may
never have to go outside
to wash windows again.
Benefits
The top sash can be
opened for ventilation,
providing an extra
measure of safety in
rooms with children.
Casement
Have a hinge at the side
and crank out to open.
Benefits
Casement windows are
the best airtight windows
you can buy. They seal in
three places, and, once
closed, minimize wind
getting through. This gives
you better overall window
performance.
Note
We recommend casement
windows in high wind
areas. The tight seals keep
more dirt, dust and other
fine particles out of your
home that may infiltrate
through other window
types.

windows are easy to clean.
Venting windows include one
or more tilt-in or removable
sashes, so you can clean the
interior and exterior glass
from inside the home.
Low-E Glass (standard)
Low-E is a microscopically
thin, transparent metallic
coating on the glass that
reduces radiant heat loss.
It also acts as a sun block
by reducing the passage of
UV rays to help prevent
the fading of furniture and
carpet. Low-E coatings
reduce energy loss by as
much as 30-50%.
Advanced Low-E
Insulating Glass
with Argon
Argon is a gas that is
inserted in the space
between two panes of glass
to further reduce heat
transfer. This glass features
insulating glass with a
Low-E coating made from
two layers of thermal protection. This glass blocks
up to 86% of UV rays.

U-Factor Rating. A window’s ability to resist
the transfer of heat. The lower the U-factor, the
less heat is transferred, the more energy-efficient.

we include standard windows with a much improved

how resistant the window is to positive and negative
air pressure, wind and rain. The higher the DP

Values shown above are for elevations up to 5,000 feet w/o breather tubes,
and may vary depending on size of window. For higher elevations we
recommend casements where small windows may be used, as above
a kitchen sink. For elevations above 5,000 feet, breather tubes are
required. SunDefense glass is available to meet ENERGY STAR®
requirements at higher elevations.
Simulated divided light grilles are permanently
bonded to the interior and exterior glass.
Pella® double-hung windows can be raised
from the bottom and lowered from the top
to provide two levels of ventilation. Hot air
is pulled from the ceiling to the outside from
the top of the window, and cooler fresh air
flows in from the bottom.
Pella® ProLine® casement windows
are six times tighter than the
industry’s highest residential
standard for air infiltration.
Awning windows hinge at the
top and open outward. They
provide air circulation without
exposing the room to exterior
elements. Often, these windows
are used as a companion window
to provide added light, height, and
ventilation.
Environmental Commitment
• Pella’s commitment to the
environment has landed it
ENERGY STAR® partner of
the year for 3 years.
• It is a founding member of
the National Fenestration
Rating Council.
• It is a member of the U.S.
Green Building Council.
• As a Forest Stewardship
Council certified company,
Pella® can offer products
made from wood certified
to have been harvested from
well-managed forests that
practice sustainability, water
and wildlife protection.
io Doors
EnduraClad® Exteriors
Wood windows are valued
for natural beauty. Wood
windows are low maintenance
and durable thanks to
aluminum-clad exteriors
and advanced wood protection formulas that guard
against moisture.
Optional Pella® ProLine® patio
doors offer three types of
grilles, high-performance glass
and decorator hardware finishes.
These doors come in pine and
can be painted or stained.
Low Maintenance/
Durability
Pella starts with solid wood
that’s kiln-dried to exacting
specifications, assuring a
long life and reducing the
risk of cracking, splitting or
swelling. Next, Pella ensures
moisture resistance with
EnduraGuard® triple wood
protection — a powerful,
patented combination of
three active ingredients.
This innovation provides
advanced protection against
moisture, stains and decay
caused by mold and mildew,
as well as termite damage.
Exceptional
Energy Efficiency
Wood windows are an
outstanding choice for
lowering energy costs.
Wood is a natural insulator.
In fact, wood insulates 1,800
times better than aluminum.
Sash Lock
Pella cam-action locks for
double hung windows are
designed to increase leverage

Andersen
®
Andersen® 400 Series. Interiors are available
in pine or white.
Andersen® 400 Series Woodwright. Interiors are
available in pine, oak or maple.
Andersen® windows are low-maintenance and are
available in four exterior colors that won’t fade, flake,
blister or peel. Low-E glass is standard on all windows.
Ordinary dual-pane glass lets 62% of UV light pass
through. Andersen® High-Performance™ Low-E glass
cuts that down to 17% with virtually no effect on the
clarity and color of the light.
Fibrex® Window Frames
Fibrex material is a sustainable structural
composite that blends the best attributes of
wood fiber and polymer. Much of the woodfiber is reclaimed directly from Andersen’s milling
operations. This practice reduces the company’s
need for raw timber while reclaiming much of the
wood-waste stream.
Fibrex has a low thermal expansion and contraction rate, is resistant
to rotting and termites, and retains its rigidity and stability in high
temperatures. Andersen® has received recycled content certification
for nearly all Andersen-branded products.
