Caterer and chef John Macy founded John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks
in 1985 in New York City. The Company’s manufacturing facility is located in
Elmwood Park, New Jersey. CheeseSticks, SweetSticks and CheeseCrisps are
distributed nationwide and can be found in many of the country’s finest gourmet,

John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks products are made from premium quality, all-natural ingredients. In addition to retail packages, John Wm. Macy’s
CheeseSticks are available in bulk for caterers, specialty bakers, and food service
operators, including par-baked CheeseSticks that can be stored frozen and baked
when needed.
From John’s NYC loft to a small storefront on 13th Street to its current
50,000 sq. ft. facility in Elmwood Park, NJ, John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks
continues to produce its award-winning unique snacks. The company now
produces over 40,000 pounds of CheeseSticks a week and consumes more than
800,000 pounds of fine cheese each year for its three product lines.
John Macy discovered his passion for food and entertaining as a teenager while catering clambakes on Martha’s
Vineyard. In 1975, he established Easy Cook Eaty, a catering business which he ran for the next 10 years. During this time,
John created his original CheeseSticks recipe.
In 1977, John took his CheeseSticks recipe on the road and sold them at local county fairs and carnivals along
the California coast. In the early 1980’s, John decided to bake and sell CheeseSticks from his New York City loft. He quickly
realized his tiny kitchen and weekly batches of CheeseSticks were not enough to get a company up and running. In 1985, with
support from his family, John opened a small shop on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and launched John Wm. Macy’s
CheeseSticks, now nationally acclaimed for having “...the perfect crunch!”

Since John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks started in 1985, its awardwinning, twice-baked sourdough Original Cheddar CheeseSticks have been
its flagship product. The savory line of CheeseSticks now includes four
additional varieties: Melting Parmesan, Romano Garlic, Dijon Swiss
and Cheddar & Scallion. Crispy and delicious, CheeseSticks are allnatural, contain no artificial ingredients, coloring or preservatives and
are available in 4 oz. retail boxes and in ready-to-serve or
par-baked bulk packaging for foodservice customers.

Delicious and twice-baked, bite-sized CheeseCrisps are made with high-quality,
all-natural ingredients. In 1988, New York’s Grand Hyatt Hotel asked John Macy to
develop a new cocktail appetizer. His creation, CheeseCrisps, are made by adding extra
aged cheese and special seasonings to his successful CheeseSticks recipe and cutting the
dough into cracker-shaped pieces. The new snack was an instant hit!
Mouth-watering varieties include: Cheddar & Asiago, Melting Romano,
Smoked Jalapeño and Sesame Gruyère. CheeseCrisps come in 4.5 oz.

SweetSticks provide just the right blend of pastry and sweet ingredients
and are the perfect side to your favorite desserts. Dutch Chocolate,
Java Cinnamon and Madagascar Vanilla SweetSticks get their delightful
taste, texture and subtle sweetness from thin sheets of fresh sourdough,
layered with sweet butter, Monterey Jack cheese and the perfect
amount of sweet ingredients... then twice-baked to crispy perfection.
