Deputy Chairman/Group Managing
Director's message
BHPetrol launches Infiniti EURO 5 Diesel
in Klang Valley
“EURO 5 Diesel is environmentally friendly due to its
lower sulphur content, with only 10 parts per million
(ppm) of sulphur compared to 500 ppm in Malaysia’s
current EURO 2M-grade diesel. Our new BHPetrol
Infiniti EURO 5 Diesel will be the fuel of choice for
advanced diesel engine vehicles that require low sulphur
diesel to achieve optimum performance. In addition,
the introduction of EURO 5 Diesel will encourage car
companies to introduce vehicles with advanced diesel
engines, offering Malaysians a greater range of choices,"
added Mr. Tan.
Dear fellow Bousteadians,
Against a volatile economic backdrop
and external pressures, I am pleased
to note that we were able to deliver
improved results for the second quarter
of the year. This is indeed testament to
the Group’s strong fundamentals as we
continue to build on our diversified core
businesses.
Although market conditions were
tough, most of our Divisions performed
satisfactorily. The Plantation Division
was a key contributor, following a gain
on disposal of land which is non-core to
the Group. This will enable us to further
unlock the value of our land bank and
strengthen our plantation operations.
The Trading & Industrial and Finance
& Investment Divisions also performed
well.
As a leading home-grown conglomerate,
we were glad to once again take
part in GLC Open Day, which saw
a number of Boustead Group
distributed to Damai Disabled Person
Association Malaysia, The National
Autism Society of Malaysia and Pusat
Harian Kanak-Kanak Spastik Bandar
Ipoh. It is heartening to note that so
many Malaysians came together for a
charitable cause, as well as being role
models to the public in encouraging
healthy lifestyles.
companies participating. The event
was particularly significant this year,
with the theme ‘Graduating to a Higher
Class: Nation-Building, Touching Lives’,
marking the final year of the 10-year
GLC Transformation Programme which
Boustead is proud to be a part of.
Meanwhile, in line with our commitment
as a responsible corporate citizen, I am
pleased to see that BHPetrol’s annual
Orange Run is still going strong after a
decade. At the 10th BHPetrol Orange
Run recently, the runners raised funds
totalling RM30,000, which were
As we move ahead into the final lap of
the year, I am confident that we will be
able to weather through the challenging
environment. What is important is that all
Bousteadians continue to work together
towards achieving our objectives, and
maintain our resolve to propel the Group
forward.
Thank you.

oustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn. Bhd. (BHPetrol) is now
the first petroleum company in Malaysia to offer EURO
5-grade diesel in the Klang Valley. This has reinforced its
status as a leader at the forefront of fuel technology, offering
only the highest quality fuel.
In 2008, BHPetrol launched Infiniti - a double
performance fuel which was further improved in 2010,
with advanced additive formulation. In 2012, BHPetrol
introduced Infiniti Advanced 2X, a new premium
quality petrol incorporating high performance German
additives. Recently, on 1 September 2015, BHPetrol
introduced the new Infiniti RON97 Euro4M petrol.
The new fuel, Infiniti EURO 5 Diesel, was officially launched
on 6 August 2015. It has been sold in BHPetrol stations in
Johor since November 2014 and is now available at selected
BHPetrol service stations in the Klang Valley.
“The wait is finally over! Infiniti EURO 5 Diesel is now in
the Klang Valley. Once again, BHPetrol is proud to provide
Malaysians with ultra clean diesel, which is in line with our
aim to be the leader in fuel technology,” said Mr. KT Tan,
Managing Director of BHPetrol.
Staf Boustead yang dihargai,
Dalam keadaan ekonomi yang tidak
menentu serta tekanan luaran, saya
gembira untuk menyatakan bahawa
Kumpulan telah berjaya mencapai
prestasi lebih baik pada suku kedua
tahun ini. Ini jelas membuktikan
bahawa Kumpulan mempunyai asas
kukuh untuk terus meningkatkan
kepelbagaian perniagaan teras kita.
Walaupun keadaan pasaran begitu
sukar, kebanyakan Bahagian kita
telah mencatatkan prestasi yang
memuaskan. Bahagian Perladangan
merupakan penyumbang utama hasil
keuntungan yang diperolehi daripada
penjualan tanah yang bukan teras
kepada Kumpulan. Ini membolehkan
kita meningkatkan nilai aset simpanan
tanah dan mengukuhkan operasioperasi
perladangan.
Bahagianbahagian Perdagangan & Perindustrian
dan Kewangan & Pelaburan turut
menunjukkan prestasi yang baik.
Sebagai sebuah konglomerat tempatan
terkemuka, kita gembira kerana dapat

Acara ini dengan temanya ‘Meningkatkan
Kecemerlangan: Membina Negara,
Memupuk Insan’, sungguh bermakna
pada tahun ini kerana ianya menandakan
berakhirnya Program Transformasi GLC
selama 10 tahun di mana Boustead
berbangga kerana turut sama terlibat.
Sementara

kita
sebagai
warga
korporat yang bertanggungjawab,
saya gembira kerana acara tahunan
BHPetrol iaitu Orange Run masih
lagi bertahan setelah lebih daripada
satu dekad. Pada acara Orange Run
BHPetrol yang ke-10 baru-baru ini,
para pelari telah mengumpulkan dana
berjumlah RM30,000 untuk diagihkan
kepada Damai Disabled Person
Association Malaysia, The National
Autism Society of Malaysia dan Pusat
Harian Kanak-Kanak Spastik Bandar
Ipoh. Adalah sangat membanggakan
apabila melihat ramai rakyat Malaysia
datang bersama-sama untuk tujuan
kebajikan ini di samping menjadi contoh
kepada masyarakat dalam memupuk
amalan gaya hidup sihat.
Tatkala kita bergerak maju memasuki
bulan-bulan terakhir tahun, saya yakin
kita dapat mengharungi persekitaran
yang mencabar ini. Yang penting,
semua staf Boustead terus bekerjasama
untuk mencapai objektif-objektif dan
mengekalkan tekad kita agar Kumpulan
dapat maju ke hadapan.
Terima kasih.

Bosnia’s capital, Sarajevo, has a charming
Ottoman-era centre surrounded by neoMoorish Austro-Hungarian architecture,
all set deep within a mountain valley. It
is a photogenic, friendly city. Yet most
visitors know its name for only two
reasons, and both are associated with
war. A century ago, a gun-shot fired
on the street corner beside Sarajevo’s
Latin Bridge killed Franz Ferdinand, the
Austro-Hungaran Crown Prince. His
death proved the fuse that ignited WWI.
The Old Town 'Bascarsija' is certainly
one of the most impressive and
charming market centre in the country.
Bascarsija has been a trading and
meeting place since the 15th century as
caravans from Asia, Dubrovnik and the
west met here to trade their wares.
The other conflict was Bosnia’s 1990s
civil war. For nearly four years Sarajevo
was besieged by Bosnian Serb forces
and the only way in or out of the city
for the defenders was through a handdug tunnel beneath the airport runway.
Today, a section of that tunnel, along
with the battle-scarred house in which

The ‘old bridge’ in Mostar, a UNESCO
