Adaptations
Adaptations, whether from novels, short stories, comic books, or stage plays, have long been a staple of the
motion picture industry. Pairing a movie with a book club or reading group selection is an excellent way to
foster discussion and analysis of both the film and the text.

Independent Film Favorites
Produced outside the major studio system, independent films have the ability to focus on artistic
expression ahead of box office returns. With unique subject matter, and many times, powerful
performances, independent film can offer a welcome respite from the crash bang of the Hollywood
blockbuster. As these films are not always available in local theaters, showing independent films at your
facility can provide local audiences with access to titles that they may not otherwise be able to see.

Classic Hollywood Movies
Screwball comedies, westerns, and the glamorous “star” are staples of Hollywood’s golden age. A

of captivating classic films. Popular titles include a variety of Shirley Temple gems from the 1930s,
screwball comedies by Howard Hawks, and award-winning masterpieces by John Ford.
