3. Place our complete trust in Jesus;
4. Go to Confession, preferably before that Sunday;
5. Receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast;
6. Venerate* the Image of The Divine Mercy;
7. Be merciful to others, through our actions, words, and
prayers on their behalf.

It’s that time again! As we do every year, we ask
that you start saving your empty egg shells for our Confetti Egg
Booth during our Fiesta, that will be held May 3, 4 & 5, and
bring them in to the Rectory.

St. Martha School will be holding a Kindergarten Parent Orientation Meeting Tuesday, March 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Kindergarten Room and a Transitional Kindergarten Parent Orientation Meeting on Wednesday, March 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the
Kindergarten Room also. (Students must turn 4 on or before
December 1, 2013, to start Transitional Kindergarten, TK, and
5 on or before December 1, 2013, to start Kindergarten.)
If you have a child that will be turning 4 or 5 on or before December 1, 2013, I highly recommend that you attend the respective Parent Orientation Meeting even if you haven’t made the
decision to send your child to St. Martha School.

The Prevalence of Abuse in Society
In surveys of adults, one out of five women and one
out of 10 men reported that they were sexually molested before they were 18 years old. This means that
an estimated 40 million adult survivors of child sexual
abuse are living in the United States today. An estimated 9.6
percent of all school children will be molested by an educator or an employee of a school between kindergarten and
12th grade. Between 13 and 34 percent of all females will be
victims of sexual assault before the age of 18 and 7 to 16
percent of all males will also be victimized before they are
18.

Why can't we dress more appropriately
when we go to Church?
¿Por que no nos vestimos mas
apropiadamente cuando vamos a la Iglesia?
It is the house of God. It is a Holy Place. It is but proper to
dress modestly while we are in a place of worship. Dressed
inappropriately, we can be a distraction to others.
Es la casa de Dios. Es un Lugar Santo. No es mis que adecuado
para vestir modestamente mientras estamos en un lugar de
Santo. Vestido inadecuadamente, puede ser una distracción pare
los demás.
Why do we follow the “dress code" when we go to a museum, a
library or some high -end dining place, BUT forget our own
“dress code” when we are in Church?
Shorts. Flipflops. Spaghetti straps. Sleeveless. Mini skirts.
Very tight clothing. Plunging necklines. Bare backs: Why can't
we choose the proper attire for even just the time we attend the
Holy Mass?
Do we need to be provided with shawls, as other Parishes do,
for women who are scantily-clothed, especially when receiving
HOLY COMMUNION?
Why do we forget that we, boys and girls, men and women,
young and old alike, must receive our Lord with the utmost
respect?
Why do brides and even her entourage forget that a wedding is
not an occasion to showcase fashion trends but rather a
BLESSED occasion of receiving a SACRAMENT of love?
Why do we continue to sit back, and allow ourselves to be
silent spectators or even participants in this show of disrespect
and insensitivity to what is acceptable church decorum?
As parishioners, together with our priests and parish organizations, let us make a firm stand towards
PROPER DRESSING AND CHURCH DECORUM.
We can make the difference, if we begin with ourselves,
our family, our co-workers and friends.
WHY CAN’T WE BEGIN TODAY?

Pantalón corto. Sandalias. Blusas de tirante o sin mangas. Mini
faldas. Ropa muy apretada. Escotes profundos. Espaldas
descubiertas: ¿por que no podemos elegir ropa adecuada para
solo el tiempo que asistan a la SANTA MISA?
¿Es necesario estar provisto chales como lo hacen otros
parroquias, para las mujeres que están escasamente vestidas,
sobre todo cuando reciben la SAGRADA COMUNION?
Por que olvidamos que nosotros, niños y niñas, hombres y
mujeres, jóvenes y viejos por igual, deben recibir al SENOR
CON EL MAXIMO RESPETO?
¿Por qué las novias e incluso sus damas se olvidan que una
boda no es una ocasión para mostrar la moda, sino más bien una
ocasión BENDITA de recibir un SACRAMENTO de amor?
¿Por que seguimos sentados, y nos permitimos ser espectadores
silenciosos e incluso participantes de esta muestra de falta de
respeto y insensibilidad a lo que es aceptable en la iglesia?
Como feligreses, juntos con nuestros sacerdotes y
organizaciones parroquiales, vamos a oponer resistencia firme
con respecto a
VESTIRNOS ADECUADOS Y FORMAL EN LA IGLESIA.
Podemos hacer la diferencia, si comenzamos con nosotros
mismos, nuestra familia, nuestros compañeros de trabajo y
amigos.
