Many of our Elite Series boats’ best qualities are due to our mastery of the twin sheet thermoforming manufacturing technique, which
precisely shapes the decks and hulls, then fuses them together under extreme heat and pressure. The final boats perform, wear and
look as if they were created as a single piece.
The heart of an Elite Series kayak or canoe is its multi-layer RAM material – exclusive to Pelican.
New for 2008 is RAM-XRTM. Two layers of impact-resistant RAM-XTM are topped with an

This is how to get away from it all. The Strait 140 is a fast, straight-tracking, stable
craft thanks to asymmetrical Swede-form geometry and hard chine V-shape hull. For
longer adventures, there’s ample carrying space – 50 L in front and 90 L in the rear. Nice
touches all around enhance your experience – like easy-to-reach backrest adjustments,
smooth and rounded coaming, replaceable keel extension, reflective perimeter lines
and bottle holder. The XE model includes a hydrodynamic composite rudder and

At Pelican, we care about the
environment. We recycle 99.5% of the
excess material in our thermoforming
process to make new boats. And ducts
redirect the heated air from our molding
ovens to heat the production facility in
winter.
Safe paddling is important to us at
Pelican. Every passenger must wear a Coast
Guard-approved personal flotation device
(PFD) when using a boat. Before heading
out on the water, read the PFD and the
boat’s owners’ manual and adjust your PFD
so it fits properly.
