How to save your .gpx file to your Humminbird GPS mapping unit
Humminbird has a unique proprietary file format that must be written to an SD card
to read on your mapping unit. The following instructions will help you get it done.
STEP 1
Go to Humminbird website and register your product so you can get the free Humminbird PC software download
Sign up for account
STEP 2
Register for your account and your describe your equipment. Click on the download link
Once you’ve registered , and log
in, you will see
the Humminbird
PC link….click the
link

Download the software
This dialog box will
open...click on the
download
STEP 1
You will open the software and open a file
Once the software has
been downloaded and
opened on your computer, go to
file….open...choose
the location of
your .gpx file and click
open
STEP 1
Now you will be at the file page...expand the file and see your waypoints
Once the file opens, click
on the plus sign next to the
filename. It will open its
components. One of them
will be the waypoint file
you purchased. See the
waypoint info on the left...
STEP 1
Install your SD card into your SD card drive (internal if your computer has one, or an external usb card reader)
Now you just install an SD
card into your computers internal or external SD card
reader. Once you do, you will
see a card image pop up.
With the Waypoints under
LGC.gpx highlighted, press the
green arrow to upload the
waypoints to your card.
STEP 1
Execute the file transfer to the SD card, and your ready to put the card into your Humminbird mapping unit.
Press Add or Replace, depending on your
preference for you card. The proper file
format will load to your SD card, and you
are ready to use.
