for a Very Special
30th Anniversary
Celebration
at the New York Botanical Garden
SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 2014 • 11:00 AM TO 2:00 PM
THE GARDEN TERRACE ROOM, NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN
1984 was a landmark year for WSHU.
We became an NPR member station, brought additional broadcast professionals to join our Classical Music Director,
and began airing All Things Considered as part of our weekday evening schedule.
The Friends of WSHU Public Radio invite you to join us in commemorating three decades of broadcasting excellence
and community commitment. This special celebration will feature some of the finest in dining, wine and music.
Amid the lush spring foliage of the New York Botanical Garden you will be treated to:
A Special Guest Performance
Enjoy the music of celebrated jazz vocalist and songwriter
Rondi Charleston, with accompaniment by renowned
guitarist Dave Stryker.
In addition to our program of entertainment, your afternoon will include:
A cocktail reception,
followed by a plated
luncheon catered by
Stephen STARR Events
A selection of fine wines
provided by American
Winery of the Year nominee
Paumanok Vineyards
A silent auction of
exceptional items to
benefit the Friends
of WSHU
We know that you share our appreciation for everything that WSHU does–both as a broadcaster and
a valued member of our community–and we sincerely hope you will join us on Sunday morning, April 6th,
to help mark this milestone in WSHU’s history.
Tickets are $150 per guest, or $1,000 for a table of eight,
and must be purchased by March 31, 2014. Visit wshu.org to purchase yours.
