RECYCLING DOES WORK!
Results from the recycling effort
at last year’s Cherry Valley Days
are in! We are proud to announce
there was .99 tons collected and
sent to Advanced Disposal to be
recycled. This is the festivals third
year partnering with Keep Northern
Illinois Beautiful's 'Recycle On The
Go'. Your help is once again needed
to keep the festival grounds and
our community clean. Please look
for the blue recycling bins to
discard your plastic and aluminum beverage containers. We thank you again for your participation in
making our recycling program a success.
Sincerely,

SATURDAY NIGHT
ANITA DUNCAN
Cherry Valley Festival Days and the village of Cherry Valley have lost an avid
supporter and tireless volunteer this spring in the loss of Anita Duncan. Anita
succumbed to leukemia after a hard-fought year-long battle. Anita was 63 years old
Even though Anita and husband, Dave, now lived outside the village limits, they remained very
active in the community. Anita’s business, Signatures Monogramming, was located in downtown Cherry Valley for many years.
Anita’s support of Cherry Valley Festival Days was unwavering and began with many years of embroidering the committee tshirts and assistance with the raffle. She joined the committee in 2003. Her creative, yet practical, input at committee meetings
and in all areas of the festival that she led was respected and appreciated. Anita either led or assisted with solicitations,
accounts receivable, and publishing of this festival program/advertising booklet for many years. Her leadership was instrumental
in creating the community service tent, a showcase for area businesses. Most recently, Anita coordinated the Pepsi sales during
festival days. Most generous with her time and talents, Anita was always available to be a friend or to assist in any area needed.
