To my class:
There are some times in life when we wonder about
everything; these times come when we have to leave our
homes and learn to adapt to new surroundings, environments and people. We are used to being in the same place,
safe and cozy; yet we are now faced with a challenge: a
change in our lives for something better… for something
different and unexpected. Right now we graduate, we become
members of something larger than our school, we become a
part of the world and contributors to society. For some, this
might come as something really difficult, while for others it
will be something natural and easy. It is during these times
that we, as a class must never forget who we are or
where we come from. Remember always that we were, are,

Dear Class of 2011,
Time goes by so fast especially when you are having FUN!!!!! There is nothing like
being a SENIOR. We have had our ups and downs, but that is over now. Your
plastic bubble just exploded and it is time to move on. You will no longer hear:
“Print and Submit on R Campus.” I know how much you loved that site. It sure
kept you on your toes. Just when we got the hang of it, bang, it started acting
up again!!!
“Read and follow the instructions.”
“Your next GEO is for….”
“There must be more money; there must be more money….”
“You need a real haircut.”
“Late again!!!!”

SENIOR MEMORY SCRAPBOOK
In spite of all the work you had to do especially my English AP group, my main
intention was to prepare you for the next stage in your life. You might have
struggled here nevertheless, when you see what you are up against, you are going to finally realize why I was asking for so much. I‟m sure you are going to feel
very proud of yourself for being so well prepared. My great satisfaction is when
you come back and say thank-you!!! This is what really counts, because in the
meantime it is a love -hate -relationship.
As the class moderator, I can really say I enjoyed working with the class. There
are some very special people who made things happen in a very special way.
You gave your all, even though you did not have a position in the class directorate and I am really proud of you. That pep rally was sensational, all I did was
supervise, and you did all the work. It is the first time in all my years moderating a
class that I felt so at eased. Thanks to the tournament with all your work and
sponsorships, you were able to raise the funds to make the most awaited event
happen.
Indeed, I don‟t want to close this letter without thanking my crew of the
“Despedida Senior” for the amazing job they did with this special activity. I have
never felt so emotional with the closing and that special tribute they gave me
with all the Senior Classes I have moderated and my family. I put my heart in
this, because I love what I do. This is one of the things that I will miss the most as I
take on my new position. Thank you all for closing this chapter of my life in such
a memorable way.
Love you all,
Nidia

with a lot of love, and I will cherish it always.
This year was filled with ups and downs for
all of you. Twelfth grade isn‟t easy, but you
I can‟t begin to express what I feel
survived. Now is the final moment: graduawriting this message to all of you. This end
of school year has been very emotional to tion and prom. I am really proud of what
you have accomplished and know that

year has gone by so fast that it makes this
moment so difficult. I have very fond memories of your time with me: the birthday wish
of the social work, the rehearsals, the day
to day in class, the senior proclamation with
my presents (Yankee Stadium book with
DVD and the autographed baseball), and
the final bulletin board you made especially for me. That bulletin board was made
To my beloved 2011 seniors:
I thank God for letting me
share and be with you on your
last year in Marista. I hope that
you have enjoyed all of the activities that we have organized with
love and care. Believe me when I
say that you
have left a
mark in my life,
in the school
and in my
heart. I‟ve always said that
this class is really special; that
there is A LOT
of talent and that each and every
one of you will go far in life. Fight
for your dreams, never give up.
When you have

My dear Seniors 2011:
I could not be with you for some very special moments of your graduation, which have saddened me
a lot, but I have had you in my thoughts and my heart
every single moment of these last days of school. I
want you all to know how truly special your class is to
me. You have been my first four years‟ group at
school and it took me really by surprise the way we
connected again. It was not easy for me… I still
thought I could pamper you and treat you as my kids
from Middle School and of course, it did not work. I
was in a learning process and you, kiddos, being such
a unique bunch of different personalities, made my
life sometimes really a nightmare, which surprisingly,
ended up being a wonderful dream at the end of the
year. I even got to ignore your copying in class and
the way you made me change subject during discussions and learned to deal with it with lots of patience
and understanding… What was it you said? … My
class was your oasis of peace, or something like that!
I have learned from my mistakes with you and they
were the bridge that took me from inexperience to
wisdom. Each and every one of you is going to be
missed… some more than others… but I am truly
grateful for all your love, your friendship, your support,
for the time we spent together during soccer games
and club activities and the special bond that will always connect me to you all. I always felt part of your lives and this, I will always cherish.
Your energy, laughter and creativity were very contagious… They made my first years in
high school very special. Remember to follow your heart, work as if there‟s not enough
time for all you want to do in life, and strive to heal the world to make it a better place.
Life is full of beauty when the heart is full of love so remember to always love yourself first
and then love others. Your life will be always blessed and beautiful for doing so. I wish you
the very best life has to offer and hope that you all really, really feel how special you are
to me. Thanks again for being part of my life. Live, laugh and love always… Mrs. Ruthie

Senior Song By: José López
During Senior Year the class gets nostalgic at some points. They chose songs that
are universal and call them theirs. This year, one song especially indicated that
this was true. It is Journey‟s song about dreaming and believing that anything
can be achieved if one works for it. Another song is very special to me, You‟ll be in my Heart
from Phil Collins is basically a translation of our class‟ theme. Diferentes rutas tomaremos pero
en nuestros corazones juntos seguiremos translates to: “Different routes we shall take, but we
will be in each other‟s hearts”; this song was also very present in our Senior Farewell.
Don't Stop Believin'
- Journey
Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going
anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going
anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers, waiting, up and down
the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find
emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
Streetlight people
You’ll be in my heart
-Phil Collins
Come stop your crying
It will be all right
Just take my hand
Hold it tight
I will protect you
From all around you
I will be here
Don't you cry
For one so small,
You seem so strong
My arms will hold you
Keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here
Don't you cry
[Chorus]
'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart, always
Why can't they understand
The way we feel?
They just don't trust
What they can't explain
I know we're different but,
Deep inside us
We're not that different at all
[Repeat Chorus]
Don't listen to them
'Cause what do they know?
We need each other
To have, to hold
They'll see in time
I know
When destiny calls you
You must be strong
I may not be with you
But you've got to hold on
They'll see in time
I know
We'll show them together
[Repeat Chorus]
Oh, you'll be in my heart (You'll be
here in my heart)
No matter what they say (I'll be with
you)
You'll be here in my heart,
I'll be there always
Always
I'll be with you
I'll be there for you always
Always and always
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
I'll be there always

A Senior Poem
By: Jesus Feliciano
Thrust against the stage,
I feel by some force bound
to share something most profound.
The crowd has gathered to hear
and learn of my greatest fear.
There is no room for deception,
this is my turn at redemption.
As my words begin to profess,
my heart intends to confess.
A man would surely be bend
upon facing, alas, the end.
But remember, forget and forgive,
it has always been my belief.
The end shall come across,
it will laugh and grin at us.
Yet resist any chance at defeat,
this reality will surely be beat.
Don’t lose hope, if you may,
smile back as you go away.
And now, the curtains fall,
they close wide and tall,
the lights slowly dim out,
as I look eagerly about.
It has all been pretty timely,
we reach our dreaded finale.
So with a smile, I know well,
I kindly bid you all farewell.

Perfect Senior Girl
By: Jesús Feliciano and Gabriel Frattallone
First and foremost, it should be made clear that the perfect senior girl is constituted by the sum
of many enviable qualities possessed by the lovely female students of Marista’s Senior Class. Beginning
from the toes up, the senior should be light on her feet and graceful, much like Natalia Rosado. She
should also hold her ground firmly upon sturdy legs, as may be provided by Mónica Beauchamp. The
only artistic way to flow smoothly into the following contours of her silhouette would be by employing
Natasha Cordero’s hips. However, the face represents a very important feature in the perfect senior
girl’s overall complexion. Andrea De Jesus’ face holds the ideal shape to frame the senior’s facial traits.
The girl should possess a beautiful and ever-present smile, which she could borrow from Paola Gonzalez. Her face would be adorned by lightly colored freckles, like Beila Trigo’s. Furthermore, her eyes
might hold a glimpse of transcendence, such as Sara Fernández’s. The girl’s hair should resemble that
of Camila Ortiz, lustrous and silky. The perfect senior shall be embodied in a skin tone very alike Maria
Machicote’s. Her figure could emulate that of Mariela Fuentes and her height would try to measure
up against Patricia Puig’s or, should a petite version be preffered, Camila Torres’ stature should suffice. The senior’s voice should be melodic and natural, like Marinieves del Valle’s, but with a slight and
distinguishing accent, alike Veronica Montinho’s. These vocal chords could equally offer life to a
charming laugh like Natalia Sepulveda’s. Nevertheless, as to never lose the inner child everyone holds
within, the senior should be playful like Monica Fuste and innocent as Karla Lebron; but she must
have an adventurous side comparative to Alexandra Figueroa's Moreover, the girl must have a great
sense of humor, like Danielle Silverio, a somewhat carefree, happy-go-lucky, attitude, such as Eva del
Valle, and Gabiela Morales’ spontaneity. Such qualities would be greatly enhanced with the addition of
Patricia Garcia’s energy, Andrea Gonzalez’s livid spirits, and Francheska Nieves’ charismatic nature. The girl must also be herself and exhibit an advanced degree of authenticity and genuineness for
which Sofia Garcia is known. Equilibrium must be conceived between the aforementioned traits and a
certain sobriety, as Bianca Cortes possesses, and occasional silence that Isabella Rivera evinces daily. The senior should not only think about herself, but, in considering others, act with sweetness, like
Andrea Fernandez, and offer caring support, much like Marcia Fernandez does. However, little can
be achieved in life without a deep-rooted faith, like the one Gabriela Bosque holds to heart, and an attitude of calmness and serenity in the face of tempest, such as Natalia Morales’. All these diverse qualities would be efficiently wrapped inside the bounds of humility, which Nayomi Vazquez embodies. A
perfect senior girl cannot be considered complete without some specific intellectual characteristics. Most
importantly, in the question of intelligence itself, Yeilyn Colon would provide more than enough. Other
important aspects of this theme include discipline, responsibility, dedication, and leadership, as seen in
Gabriela Lanauze, Paloma Corujo, Michelle Cruz, and Desiree Nieves, respectively. A fondness for
hard work would surely be integrated with the contribution of Avielle Suria. Last but not least, a lot can
be accomplished with healthy ambition, such as that of Emiliette Morales. Meanwhile Gabriela Santo’s renowned athletic abilities would promote healthy living. Also, Mariela Fernandez’s artistic skills
and creativeness could come in handy, much like Andrea Rivera’s devotion for the histrionic arts. From
a similar standpoint, Gabriela Fontan’s fashion sense and Ana Fraile’s modeling abilities would complement each other greatly. An eco-friendly lifestyle, as could be provided by Frida Riollano comes in
handy in times like these. None is more important than the bond of friendship, which is best evidenced
by the long running relationship between Paula Soldevila and Paola Irizarry. The perfect senior girl
is, in a nutshell, unique and no one is more unique than Fabiola Cestero. Conclusively, the perfect senior girl is, and shall be the unison of many girls from our class.

To My Dearest Class of 2011:
It has been an honor and privilege to serve you all
this year; and on this my last formal address to you as Class
President, I wish to convey my sincerest gratitude for the
wonderful opportunity you allowed me. Thank you for entrusting me with this position and for your unconditional
support throughout all of this year‟s activities. Each one of
you made this year an amazing and unforgettable one,
for us and for everyone else; no one will forget the Class of
2011.
Now, we are all going our separate ways, embarking on a new journey each on our own. Most of us will go on to be great professionals; we will
meet new people, move to different places, and start our adult lives. But I
am completely certain that this will not be a final goodbye. After so many
years together, we – perhaps unintentionally – have become a great family;
the bond between all of us as the Class of 1102, probably the best Class
that has ever passed through Marista, is of the strongest kind. So , on this
„see you later‟, I exhort you all to do whatever it is that brings you happiness,
to carry honorable lives, and, above all, never forget this family.
Also, I want each and every one of you to know that I will always be in
the best disposition to help; you will always have in me a classmate and
friend. Know that I am deeply in love with this Class and I will carry all of you
in my heart for the rest of my life. I wish you all the best!
Love,
Your Presi and Friend, Andrea

move on and that life keeps going forward and we must go with
it. It shows that although nothing
perfect can remain forever, we
must cherish it while we can.
Nothing Gold Can Stay
By: Robert Frost
(As seen in The Outsiders)
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

The Last Game
by: Alejandro Sanjenís
I am glad to know that after participating for five years in our school's baseball
team we became champions in my last
year in our school. During a time of fright the team was united by all of the Seniors
watching the game; the team felt like what it was: a team... not individuals playing a
game, but a group fighting for honor and a chance to show what they were made of.
We finally defeated the likes of Notre Dame and San Ignacio and established a new
line of achievements at our school. I truly hope that the team continues to stay excellent and achieve everything we have in future years.

the worth of a man is not shown by how many tears

that his passing brings to the world... LOLO descansa

familia.
- Diana Ramos
