WHEELQUIP was established in 1984 as a
distributor of wheel service equipment, tyre
and tube repair material, tyre valves and tyre
tools.
Initially known as Tyre Maintenance Suppliers,
management saw the need for supplying the
tyre industry with the
most technically advanced
equipment, consumables
and tools and providing
the industry with service
excellence.
WHEELQUIP is the
supplier of many international brands and boasts the sole agency for Southern
Africa of imported automotive equipment from Italy, namely Corghi spa.
Corghi recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Wheelquip was awarded a
20-year service excellence award from Corghi spa.
WHEELQUIP delivers a full service starting with the layout of new tyre shops,
the installation of air piping, the correct equipment for the application as
well as training of all staff on the use of the equipment. A training school is
held monthly where wheel alignment technicians are trained from a basic to
advanced level, in the theory as well as practical aspect of alignment.
WHEELQUIP distributes countrywide as well as across the borders
of South Africa into Angola, Botswana and Mozambique. We have
offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and in Windhoek, the capital
city of Namibia, which distributes equipment and consumables
throughout the vast Namibia. KwaZulu Natal and the Eastern Cape
have committed agents who distribute and service the industry in
these areas.
A dedicated team of skilled representatives and technicians ensure
that excellent service is delivered to clients.

These USA style C-O-I Radial repairs are black with grey vulcanizing gum on a blue poly
backing. The units will vulcanize chemically or in low temperature (procure) systems when
applied with our vulcanizing cement. The tie-gum construction eliminates the potential of
end cracking which is common in inferior brands.

Lead-wire combination mushroom shaped repair units are multidirectional and can be
applied in any repairable area of radial and cross ply tyres (tread, shoulder or side wall).
The lead-wire repair units are inserted into the injury from the inside of the tyre and pulled
through from the outside. Both stem and patch are gum coated to ensure a complete bond,
both through the injury and on the inner liner. The units are black with grey gum on a blue
poly backing and will vulcanize chemically or in a heat curing system.

type inserts are temporary repairs and seals by compression, filling the injury. It is made
of string covered with butyl rubber. It is applied with an end slot needle. It is supplied in

The SP2300 pneumatic presser – Beadbreaker is recommended above all for
operating on extra low profile tyres and
racing rims in light alloy, and especially
on wheels fitted with pressure sensor.
The bead is broken by the gradually
increasing pressure and penetration of the
disc against the tyre bead as the wheel
is rotating; the Bead-breaker disc never
touches the rim.
The SP2300 also greatly simplifies other
procedures, such as mounting of the tyre’s
top bead or demounting of the bottom
bead, thanks to the assistance provided by
the disc support arm. Quicker operation,
more protection for the rim and less effort
for the operator.

The new Corghi Cubo 3D aligner with 2 camera reading system is fast, simple to use, yet
reliable. The software is user friendly for precise and quick alignments. It also has a easily

CORGHI REMO TOUCHLESS WHEEL ALIGNER
Robotic Equipment for Measuring Optics
REMO consists of two autonomous robots, which communicate wirelessly with the control unit. It uses a
GPS system via the two targets to localize the system.
REMO is activated by selecting the vehicle on the databank. The two robots first identify the height of the
lift (at any height) and the position of the wheels on the rear axle.
Once identified, the cameras will create a 3D image of the wheel which is used to calculate the alignment
values. Once the values have been measured, the robots will automatically move to the front axle and
make a measurement. The caster is measured in either 10 or 20 deg. The position of the vehicle on the
lift/pit does not influence the readings.
The process takes approximately 80 seconds in which time the operator is free to carry on with other
chores in the workshop or to prepare the next vehicle for alignment.

In 1947, the brothers Erminio and Remo Corghi began to reap the rewards of
their business skills and ingenuity, building radio’s and inventing a special birdhunting trap with tape recorder.
Six years later, in 1954, Corghi electromechanics was born. The trademark with

began to earn well-deserved admiration.

household appliances.
The automobile boom exploded in 1960 and the Corghi
brothers were ready. They invented and patented the
world’s first tyre changer which was the best way of
attacking the market. The company took off and never
stopped soaring.
