President's Desk...
Dear CWAA Members & Associates,
A
s I was looking over the last president’s letter I had to laugh because it does not seem that
we got the early spring we were hoping for. We are slowly making our way there and I will
take any warm days I can get at this point!
If you were not able to get all of your leaves up this fall hopefully we get some sunny days
so we can get those projects finished and lawns cut for the first time. Please remember our
associate members for any spring and projects you may not want to take on.
The board is continuing to work with the city and state government to interpret the new laws
that were passed and how they affect all of our members. We seem to be making some progress
and are hoping that the inspections will be tempered in the future. If you have any questions
or problems with the inspection department please keep myself or one of the board members
updated. It helps us to hear as much feedback as possible.
We also work to try to bring in speakers that will interest every one of our members and help
to make all of us better owners. If there are any specific topics you would like to see discussed
or areas that need to be addressed please let us know.
I again want to take a minute to thank all of our members, associate members and board
members. Together we make up a great organization that has a great impact.
Have a great coming month!
Noah Eschenbauch
CWAA President

Central Wisconsin Apartment Association • Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
March 9, 2016
Present: N. Eschenbauch, D. Plaisance, T. Gaboda, C. Burch, M. Kaczmarek, J. Becker,
M. Beacom, D. Eschenbauch
Excused: T. Haines
Executive Secretary: C. Harris
The meeting was called to order by President Noah Eschenbauch at 3:37 p.m. in the AnchorBank board room
MSP to approve the February 10, 2016 minutes with date correction.
MSP to accept the Treasurer’s report with account balances of $23,522.08.
May Meeting Planning - Chris Mokler from the Wisconsin Apartment Association will speak on the benefits of
WAA membership and current state legislation. This is rescheduled from tonight, which was cancelled due to
illness. The board will meet in July to complete plans for picnic and annual meeting. Program ideas included
Tenant Expectations; Social Media Marketing; and Property Management Software.
SGA Marketing Agreement - We have a minor wording change from them and will get contract signed soon.
UWSP Off-Campus Housing Fair - Ways to get more students to attend were discussed. Rich Sommer presented ideas for a cyber version of the fair. Landlords would need to commit to a block of time when they could be
contacted. Belt’s or I-tunes cards could be given out for appointments. Do we need a training session on new
ways to contact students - text, email, social media?
UWSP Scholarship Awards Dinner - Mike and Amanda Kaczmarek will attend.
City Meetings - Lullabye site plan coming to Redevelopment Authority. Inspection and Licensing questions for
Mayor.
Ban the Bag - A student group is promoting cloth bags for shopping rather than plastic bags. Would this be an
opportunity to partner with them and advertise the website on the bags? Chris Burch will investigate pricing.
Community Committee - The Business Council had a workshop on attracting young professionals to the area.
There was discussion of not having enough housing for young professionals.
Meeting adjourned at 4:54 p.m.
