Re: Request for road closing
Trig's, 1600 Academy Avenue, has the opportunity to have an appearance by the famous
Budweiser Clydesdales on Thursday, August 16th from 4-6pm. It will include a 8 horse hitch.
Our plan is to have the Clydesdales arrive at approximately 3pm. They would park on either
Scholfield Ave. or Prentice Stand hitch up the team. Close to 4pm they would parade on
Prentice and then onto Academy Avenue.
We are requesting that Academy Avenue would be closed from 3pm until 7pm only in the
areas between the entry/exits into the Trig's Parking Lot. Customers would still have easy
access to the store parking lot. The closure would only affect one house on Academy and I
have plans to discuss our proposal with the tenant of that house. I do not foresee any
problems.
Customers will be invited to attend the hitching and unhitching of the Clydesdales.
Customers will only be allowed within a safe distance of the horses. Cleanup will be done by
the staff of the Budweiser crew. The Clydesdales event will be part of a 3 week celebration
of Trig's (and it's previous owners) 50th Anniversary Celebration. The celebration will have a
finale on Saturday August 25th highlighted with a lucky customer winning a 1963 Corvette
convertible. 49 other lucky customers will also win a wonderful prize.
If you have any specific questions about the Clydesdales, please contact James Riehle,
sales manager for Baer's Beverage, Wausau. You may email him at
[email protected] or call him on his cell at 715-571-5000.
Thank you for your consideration,

Make the Policy Permanent of what is done with Culled Deer
June 6, 2012
1. On April 11, 2011, the Public Protection Committee approved a request from the Deer Management
Committee that culled deer be donated to any of the food pantries in the Stevens Point area that are able to
pick up culled deer on short notice and are willing to accept the costs of processing the culled deer. The
Public Protection Committee approved the request and asked that it be reviewed again in April 2012. On
April18, 2011, the Council approved the minutes and action taken by the Public Protection Committee.
2. The Deer Management Committee found the policy to work very well and recommends that the Public
Protection Committee make the policy permanent.
3. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
