Landscape, Macro, & HDR
This class combines three popular topics:
Landscape Photography, High Dynamic Range
(HDR), and Macro Photography into one class
perfect for that big trip. Landscape photography
topics will include composition, depth of field,
filters, lighting and locations. Capturing a wide
range of tones in your image is difficult with a
digital camera. We will introduce you to HDR
photography, which allows you to combine
multiple images to make use of the full tonal range
in the shadows, mid tones and highlights. We
will discuss all of the ways to get the best macro
photographs including different lens choices,
focusing, composition, and other topics involved
with macro photography. Bring your camera to
the class; we will discuss various camera settings as
well as the different lens choices that are available. TAKE MORE

In the first two-hour session, using our in-class
computers, we will review the interface and
show how to customize it to streamline your raw
processing work-flow. We will review how to
import, catalog, organize and process your digital
files to your liking and export your files as jpeg,
tiff, and Photoshop files. Did you know you can set
your color balance after you shoot with a raw file?
In our second two-hour class we will process files
showing you how to make several “versions” of the
same file to explore your creative possibilities and
how to selectively edit certain areas/tones/colors of
your file (bring in a few of your raw files on a USB
drive or CD so we can show you some options
on how to process them). Do you have hundreds
of images that you want to process and want to
know how to speed up the process? This is the #1
software pros and serious photographers use to get
the best quality from their raw images and batch
process multiple images at once.

Camera Specific Class
Cost: $69/person
Length: 2 hours
This class is limited to 15 attendees.
In this two hour hands on workshop, we will explore
the options available to you for controlling the shutter
speed settings on your camera. Understanding the
shutter speed you would use for different situations
is one of the most important concepts you will want
to know to get those consistent great action photos.
Why does changing your ISO affect the shutter speeds
you can use? We will experiment with panning your
camera to stop action and create blur by taking some
photos outside the classroom and taking some photos
in the classroom with studio lighting. The instructor
will advise you and critique your photos as you shoot.
This is a perfect class to attend for anyone wanting
to learn how to use shutter speed techniques to take
their images to the next level. And because this is
a hands-on class, make sure to bring your camera,
lenses, flash and tripod with you.

Cost: $49/person
(FREE Digital Basics Class when you purchase a new
camera from us!)
Length: 1.5 hours
Whether you own a DSLR or a Point and Shoot camera,
this hour and a half seminar is geared around getting you
familiar with the basics of your camera. Our instructor will explain
what the most commonly used buttons mean and how to use them.
Additionally, you will go over some of the various Scene Modes on
your camera, how to take control of the flash settings, why Program Mode is different
than Auto Mode, white balance settings, formatting your memory card, viewing and deleting
pictures, and the basics of downloading and storage of your digital photos. This is the first step
to understanding your camera and taking advantage of its features. Bring your camera and a
fully charged battery along with your questions.
This is not a camera specific class.
