Mission Statement
of Sacred Heart Parish
We, the members of Sacred Heart
Parish, through the gifts of the Holy
Spirit, are continuing our ministry
of Jesus Christ.
We are committed to forming ourselves
into a caring and active
Christian Community,
to promote the values of our religion
and to fulfill the universal mission
of our ministry.
Pastor’s Pen
For the Week of
July 25-31
By Fr. Luke Ferris
MONDAY, July 25
“He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed by your name…” (Luke
11:2) Our Lord shares with us today a
shorter version of the “Our Father” prayer. Notice that
he does not use the word “our” when saying God’s
name should be honored or “hallowed.”
This lack of the word “our” before addressing God
as Father is not surprising. Many times we read about
Jesus praying and he simply addresses God in this
way. “Father, forgive them…(Luke 23:34) Just as a
family may refer to “our dad”, we may also talk to him
directly saying, “Dad, can you help us?”
What is more significant is the trust we place in God
by referring to him as “Father.” Our God is not just
some impersonal divine being, rather he is a loving
father who cares for us and has our best interests at
heart. And so we welcome his presence when we
continue praying, “...your kingdom come.”

Volunteers Needed
The Council of Catholic Women will be serving for
the Community Meal at Presbyterian Church hall this
month. It will be held July 26.
We will set up beginning at 4:00pm. We need
people to help set up tables and chairs. The meal is
provided by CCW and is served at 5:30pm. We then
need to take all tables and chairs down. If you are
able to help and wish to bring a dessert or bars it will
be very helpful.
Please contact Rita Simon at 715-758-8535 if you
have questions.
Gratefully yours,
Fr. Luke
Let us remember in prayer Leroy
Slewinski who has been called by God
to eternal life. We also remember his
family and friends, and pray that God
will give them consolation and peace.
Mark your calendars!

Faith: the Next
Generation – Pass It On!
Boldly go where many have
gone before and help pass on
the Good News of Jesus Christ
and our Catholic faith! This fall,
over 150 children and young
people, Grade 1 through 11, will sign up to learn
more about Jesus and the Catholic faith. At this time,
about 50 of these children and young people have no
catechist to teach them. You can help by becoming a
catechist for Faith Formation. As you nurture the faith
of our young, you will learn and grow as well! We
provide you with training, materials, and support.
