Shri Gadkari visits Tesla in US: Offers to promote Joint
Venture with Indian Automobile Sector for Electric Vehicles
Vipin
New Delhi: Union Minister of Road
Transport, Highways & Shipping Shri Nitin
Gadkari visited Tesla factory near San
Francisco in USA and offered to promote
joint ventures between the global leaders
in electric car manufacturing and the
Indian automobile companies with a view
to introducing pollution free road transport
in India, especially commercial and
public motor ehicles.
Shri Gadkari said the Indian
Government was committed to
encouraging alternate pollution
free transport in the country by
providing incentives to bio-fuel,
CNG, Ethanol and electric vehicles.
He proposed to the Tesla senior
executives to make India their
Asia manufacturing hub and
offered land near major Indian
ports to facilitate export of their
vehicles to South and South East
Asian countries.
Tesla senior executive admitted that
their manufacturing hub has to be outside the US for markets in rest of the
world and appreciated the Indian offer
of cooperation which they said will
certainly be considered at the appropriate time in future. They said India
will definitely be a market for their
next generation low cost sustainable
model-3 Replying to specific queries
from the Transport and Highways
Minister regarding manufacturing of
electric trucks, buses and two wheelers,
Tesla team said they have future plans for
trucks and pick up vans but not buses and
two wheelers. They evinced keen interest
in knowing whether there was any subsidy
on electric vehicles in India. Shri Gadkari
asked Tesla executives to outline their
proposals for entry into Indian market.

Anna protest hub again
"Anna tum sangharsh
karo, hum tumhare saath
hain," "Main bhi Anna, tu
bhi Anna, ab toh saara
desh hai Anna," "Anna
tum aage badho, desh
tumhare saath hai" Ramlila Maidan once
again saw a group of
people shouting Anna
slogans with the tricolour
in their hands.
The sound made a few
people rush to the
ground, but they discovered that this wasn't the
beginning of a movement, but the shoot of
director
Shashank
Udapurkar's biopic on
Anna Hazare. The film is
based on Anna's childhood, his Army days,
return to Ralegan Siddhi
where he began his fight
against corruption, and
the indefinite hunger
strike at Ramlila Maidan
in Delhi in 2011.

Two lakh across Valley attend Burhan Wani’s funeral Can Sheila change electoral fortunes of Congress?
Md. Danish Aafaqi
Thousands of people, including teenaged
boys and old men, today offered several
funeral prayers for Burhan Wani, a young
militant commander who was killed last
evening, making it the largest gathering in
the region in recent years.
At least four major funeral prayers were
offered at the vast ground near Wani’s
home in Tral town in south Kashmir, while
several other small funeral prayers were
also offered as the steady stream of
mourners kept arriving here despite curfew imposed by the authorities.
Even though it was difficult to count the
number of people who attended the funeral, but estimates suggest the number
could have been anywhere around two
lakh people or more. The attendance in
Wani’s funeral was one of the largest for a
militant in the past decade.
The funerals of militants have attracted
large attendances in recent years as
insurgency has made a significant comeback in the last four to five years and
gained several hundred recruits.
Three militants, including Wani, were
killed in a brief gunfight in the Kokernag
area of south Kashmir Wani, who headed
militants of Hizbul Mujahideen in south
Kashmir, was one of the most prominent
militant commander in the region and had
become the poster boy of new-age militancy.
Those who attended Wani’s funerals had
come from across the Kashmir valley,
including from distant places like Kupwara
and Baramulla, more than 100 km from
here. Many had come on foot and walked
long distances, while hundreds came in
cars, load carriers, tractors and trucks.
Several masked men, believed to be militants, also came to the ground where
Wani’s body was kept for public viewing
during the day.
The police handed over Wani’s body to
his family late on Friday night and it
arrived at his Sharifabad home at 3 am.
As soon as the body of the militant commander arrived, hundreds of men – most
of them young boys – gathered at Wani’s
home and raised slogans praising militants.
The first of the several funeral prayers
was offered at 10 am as heavy rush of
people flooded the ground which caused
advancing of the funeral from the scheduled time. Wani was later buried in the
afternoon after several rounds of funeral
prayers. Some reports suggesting as
many as 20 big and small funeral prayers
were offered.
Life is cricket
Mayank Puri
One of the most popular
games in today’s time is
cricket. As this game has
achieved more popularity
in all over the country
Some of the countries
national
game
is
achieved like Australia,
England. The game
cricket was first played in
16 th century in England
as cricket becomes the
national
game
of
England in 18 th century.
The first match played
b/w
Australia
and
England
in
which
Australia won and give a
start to a cricket match.
Then many more matches have been
played but India played
his first match England in
1932.But at that time
most of the people don’t
know about this game
people don’t have a
craze at that time. In the
first fifty of international
cricket India was one of
the weaker team winning
not more than 40 matches. The team however
gained strength when
players like Kapil Dev,
Sunil Gavaskar come in
India team as these players have change the
lifestyle of cricket and
give a good cricket
game. Then the world
cup begin in international
cricket in 1975and west
indies became the first
team to won the world
cup and make history, at
that time west indies was
the strongest team in
cricket and they have
proof
after
winning
another world cup in
1979. World cup matches starts after 4 years.
Then in 1983 that day

BANGLADESH.
India
and Sri Lanka are two

Sheila Dikshit will play a major role in the Congress
Party’s poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh as she is a prominent Brahmin face and could help the party to regain
support of the electorally sizeable and significant community, whose backing determines the poll outcome on
several seats. The community, a traditional vote bank of
the Congress, shifted allegiance to BJP in the aftermath
of the emergence of Mandir-Mandal politics. A large
chunk of Brahmin votes had also gone to Mayawati’s
BSP in the past, when she gave tickets to many candidates belonging to the community, but now Dikshit’s
entry may swing these votes in favour of Congress in UP
assembly election.
Sheila Dikshit is the daughter in law of, Uma Shankar
Dikshit, a man who started his political career when he
joined the Indian freedom movement, during which he
was imprisoned four times. His great contribution to freedom struggle cannot be neglected. He hails from the village in Unnao district adjacent to state capital Lucknow.
He pursued his education from Kanpur. Since his student
life he joined the freedom movement and was the
Secretary of the District Congress Committee Kanpur
during the period when Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi was
the President of the Committee. He served the country
as the Home Minister, Health Minister and Governor of
Karnataka and West Bengal. He also served as treasurer of All India Congress Committee and Managing
Director of Associated Journals at Lucknow. He founded
a Girls Intermediate College at his village Ugu in the
memory of his mother. He was awarded Padma
Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award in India in
1989, by the Government of India. Sheila’s father in law’s
credentials can benefit her.
The Brahmin community plays a significant role in election outcome in central and eastern UP as it is the dominant caste in these areas. Election strategist Prashant
Kishor had recommended that Dikshit should play a
major role in the party’s poll campaign in the State. Right
now, UP needs a leader who can set law and order and
also bring some development in the state. Sheila is
known as a development leader because of her achievements as Chief Minister of Delhi for three successive
terms.
The Congress, however is yet to decide what role
Priyanka Gandhi (Vadra) will play in the crucial state
polls in 2017, after she decided to entry into active politics. Priyanka is expected to launch the Congress campaign at a rally in either Lucknow or Allahabad — probably from Anand Bhawan — in the second week of
August. She will be addressing election meetings in
around 120 constituencies. For all political purposes, she
will be the face of the Congress campaign.
Naxal menace in Odisha
Odisha is suffering due to three major forces, one is government another is police and third is Maoists. Villagers
and security personnel engaged in anti-Maoist operations opened fire at innocent people in Kandhamal district of the state. Police randomly opens fire at villagers
and leaves killing many in the name of Maoists. There is
almost every day cross fire exchange between policemen and Maoists. The survivors however, claim that their
fellow citizens were killed in a cold blood. Panicked villagers demanded that the anti-Maoist operations be
stopped in the region. Naveen Patnaik government had
ordered a judicial probe into the killing of innocent villagers.
The Naxalite–Maoist insurgency is an ongoing conflict
between Maoist groups, known as Naxalites or Naxals,
and the Indian government. The conflict in its present
form began after the 2004 formation of the CPI (Maoist),
a rebel group composed of the PWG (People’s War
Group) and the MCC (Maoist Communist Centre).

Surat/Tapi : A 27 year old Engineer was recently booked
on charges of Rape, IPC section 376 and was kept in
custody for 14 days. The incident took place in KAPP
(Kakrapar Atomic Power Plant) township where it is
believed that the victim, a 34 year old woman from
Vadodara came down to the township saying that she
had some work and seeked help from the accused to let
her stay at his place for security concerns. She had also
informed him that she would be coming there for 3-4
days and would leave as soon as her works gets completed.
In attempt to help her, the accused allowed her to stay at
his allotted residence for the time being. If the people of

arrival, she started harassing the accused physically,
mentally and emotionally and started blackmailing him to
marry her. He disagreed to her citing that he was already
married and cannot marry her at any cost. She further
more threatened him and said that she would go to the
police if he didn’t obey her illegitimate demands and
would file fake rape charge against him. Not only this,
she also demanded a hefty amount of Rs 30 lakhs in
favor of her return from the accused.

Two Indians kidnapped in Nigeria released
Two Indians kidnapped in Nigeria last month were
released on Saturday, the government announced.
Mangapudi Srinivas and Kaushal Anish Sharma, abducted on June 29 from Boko in Benue state, were freed. IST,
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup
said. Stating that both released persons had spoken to
their families, Swarup said Sharma’s wife thanked
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for ensuring his
safe release.
Srinivas and Sharma were on their way to work at the

when they were kidnapped.
The Dangote Group is a Nigerian multinational industrial

Pakistan to observe July 19 as ‘black day’ against
Kashmir killings: Nawaz Sharif provokes India
Pak social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch killed in Multan
Pakistan’s social media
celebrity Qandeel Baloch
was killed allegedly by her
brother in Multan in Punjab
province, becoming the latest victim of “honour
killings” that plague the
country.
The 26-year-old actorcum-model was killed in
central district of Multan
last night, police said
today.
Police said apparently she
was killed by her brother
named Wasim, who has
fled after the incident.
“She was suffocated to
death by strangulation. It
seems to be a case of honour killing but we are investigating it,” district police
chief Azhar Akram said.
Her real name was Fouzia
Azeem but she chose
Qandeel Baloch as her
pseudonym after stepping
into modelling.
She had received threats
from her family to quit
modeling and her provocative appearances on social
media. Her brother had
been threatening her over
her Facebook posts and
videos, said the police.
Three weeks ago, she had
written to the interior minister, the director general of
the Federal Investigation
Authority (FIA) and the
senior superintendent of
Islamabad asking them to
provide security to her,
Dawn reported.
She had said her life is in
danger and that she is

India calls upon all sides in Turkey to support democracy
India today called upon all sides to support democracy
and mandate of the ballot and avoid bloodshed in Turkey,
which is witnessing violence after an attempted military
coup in which at least 60 people have died.
External Affairs Ministry said India has been closely following the developments in Turkey and advised its
nationals to stay indoors until the situation becomes
clearer.
“India calls upon all sides 2 support democracy & mandate of the ballot, & avoid bloodshed,”
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan will
observe July 19 as a ‘black day’ to protest against
‘killings’, referring to those who died during protests after
the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan
Wani in Kashmir.
The special Cabinet meeting decided to observe nationwide black day on July 19 to mark complete solidarity
with Kashmiris. Sharif termed the “movement of
Kashmiris as a movement of freedom”.
“Pakistan would continue to extend moral, political and
diplomatic support for Kashmiris in their just struggle for
right to self-determination,” the prime minister said.
“The Prime Minister termed Burhan Wani as martyr of
independence movement,” Radio Pakistan reported.
He said, the “Indian brutalities will give impetus to the
freedom struggle and Kashmiri people will get their right
to self-determination for which the whole Pakistani nation
is standing behind them.”
Speaking in the wake of the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen
terrorist Burhan Wani in an encounter in Anantnag,
Sharif had said that the plebiscite should be held so that
the people of Jammu and Kashmir can decide whether

China ‘may build nuclear plants’ in South China Sea
China may build mobile
nuclear power plants in the
South China Sea, state media
reported on Friday, days after
an international tribunal dismissed Beijing’s vast claims
in the strategically vital
waters.
“Marine nuclear power platform construction will be used
to support China’s effective
control in the South China
Sea,” the website of the staterun Global Times cited the
China
National
Nuclear
Corporation (CNNC) as saying on a social media
account. The Global Times
cited the report as saying that
“marine nuclear power platforms will be used” in the
islands and reefs of the
Spratly chain in the contested
sea “to ensure freshwater”.
The original report was deleted from CNNC’s account on
social
media
platform
WeChat on Friday, and a
staffer at the firm told that it
“needed to confirm” its accu-
racy.
“In the past, the freshwater
provision to troops stationed

not be guaranteed, and could
only be provided by boats
delivering barrels of water,”
the Global Times cited the
report as saying. “In the
future, as the South China

will speed up the commercial
development of the South

The National Skill Mission

by enhancing skills of the

of ATDC saw a huge number
of students gathered to participate, taking the zeal even
among the organizers to new
zeniths.
The Chairman of ATDC said
on the occasion “The United

the World Youth Skills Day. In
the last one year, considerable progress has been
achieved towards skilling
Indian youth. The Textile

being downstream has maximum potential for employment generation especially
for women and youth. It is
important that the skilling

police personnel swung into
action and started the investigation and questioned all
their family members, relatives and friends even they
questioned all their customers
of chit fund, real estate business, with this team questioned nearly 200 persons
and gathered information
from them. During investigation our team gathered circumstantial evidence based
on the evidence our team
arrested Venkatesh from his
home town as during the
course of investigation a
neighbour noticed him coming out from the house.
After arresting the accused
Venkatesh confessed the
crime and said that he is a
cab driver by profession and
a close friend of couple's
younger son Prithviraj had
come
in
contact
with
Venkatesh as he was working
with Nishanth, who is a friend
of Prithviraj. Nishanth often
used to come to couples' residence to meet Prithviraj and
Venkatesh was dropping him.
Meanwhile, Venkatesh came
to know that the couple were
into chit fund business and
had asked money as he was
facing financial problem. He
had approached them for
money and did not get.
Venkatesh
noticed
Muniyappa (68), a retired
Assistant Controller of GKVK,
and his wife Varalakshmi living in a duplex house in
Byatarayanapura while their
three sons lived separately in
various parts of the city.
Venkatesh, who was heavily
in
debt,
noticed
that
Varalakshmi used to wear a
lot of gold ornaments and
Muniyappa was involved in
huge money transactions
through his money lending
business.
Venkatesh decided to eliminate the couple to clear his
debts. As per the plan, on July
2nd, he visited the couple’s
house on the pretext of discussing about a prospective
bride for their younger son,as
the couple were searching for
a bride for Prithviraj and he
gained entry into the house in
the pretext of giving a detail of
a bride.
When Muniyappa opened the
door, Venkatesh hugged him
and stabbed repeatedly.After
few minutes of conversation,
Venkatesh
overpowered
Muniyappa and slit his throat
with a knife which he had
bought from a hardware shop
from his hometown. he then
went to the first floor and
stabbed Varalakshmi who
was busy in her daily chore
and rob her managalasutra
and killed her in similar manner. Venkatesh then removed
the gold valuables from
Varalakshmi’s body and ransacked the house to look for
cash and gold. He soon
escaped with the valuables
after locking the house from
the outside and our team
grilled him and based on his
statement we have recovered
the gold valuables which he
had pawned for Rs.1,02,000
to clear his debts.
Non-Bailable Warrant issued against
Mallya in cheque bounce case
A metropolitan magistrate’s
court in suburban Andheri
on Saturday issued a NonBailable Warrant (NBW)
against liquor baron Vijay
Mallya in a cheque bounce
case.
The court had in May
reserved its order on applications filed by the Airport
Authority of India (AAI) seeking an arrest warrant against
the industrialist.
AAI has filed two cheque bouncing cases against
Mallya’s Kingfisher Airlines in the court. The two cheques
worth Rs. 50 crores and Rs. 57 crores respectively were
dishonored in year 2012.
In last hearing, the court had asked Mallya to remain
present during the hearing of the said case but he was
absent as well.
The lawyer, who appeared for Mallya, told the court the
Mallya’s passport is revoked and hence he cannot come
and the matter should be heard without him.

India continues to top the chart on
expectations of increasing revenue
Mumbai: After topping the business optimism ranking for
the last two quarters globally, India slipped to the third
place in the April-June quarter of 2016, the latest Grant
Thornton International Business Report (IBR) says.
Delays in key reforms like GST, non-resolution of tax disputes, banking issues due to stressed assets resulting in
weak outlook for banks and need for significant recapitalisation of public sector banks are some of the main concerns of corporate India that have impacted the overall
business optimism, according to the report.
This is a clear signal that while there is optimism in the
market and great business opportunity in India, the issue
that is bothering investors is the slow progress on key
reforms, simplification of tedious government processes
and regulatory uncertainties which is impacting India's
ranking," said Harish HV, Partner - India Leadership
team, Grant Thornton India LLP.
