At the very heart of any water monitoring system is a sensor that takes measurements. INW’s AquiStar® Smart Sensors’ sophisticated sensing elements detect minute changes in such environmental water parameters as pressure, level, temperature, conductivity, bromide, chloride, pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity. Recording dataloggers built in Powerful internal microprocessors enable the sensors to be programmed for data recording and various monitoring sequences. Low power consumption AquiStar® Smart Sensors go to sleep between readings, waking up automatically as needed. Due to this sleep mode and the use of very low power components, many of our AquiStar® sensors run for over a year on two internal AA batteries, even when taking readings every 15 minutes. Dual power supply Most AquiStar® Smart Sensors come with two internal AA batties. Twelve volt external power supplies and solar panels are available for data intensive applications. Rugged construction Submersible units, constructed with 316 stainless steel (or titanium), Viton®,and Teflon®, stand up to rugged and corrosive field conditions. Surface sensors, housed in IP66/67 polycarbonate or ABS plastic enclosures, withstand the rigors of sun, wind, and inclement weather. Powerful software Aqua4Plus control software comes standard with all AquiStar® sensors. Use this software to view the status of any sensor, take real time readings, set background recording rates, upload and view the data in a number of different formats, as well as export data to .csv (comma separated value) files for import into databases, spreadsheets, and GIS modeling software. Easy in-field calibration Powerful calibration wizards make in-field calibration a snap. Dual communication protocol (Modbus® and SDI-12) In addition to INW’s software, use standard Modbus® RTU or SDI-12 equipment to easily read the GDL, so as to tie into your existing networks. Cabling and networking RS485 networking allows several sensors to be networked together and allows cable runs up to 2000 feet. Select from polyurethane, polyethylene, FEP Teflon®, or Tefzel® cable to meet the needs of your particular applications. Y N/A 0.75” N/A Instrumentation Northwest - www.inwusa.com - 3 AquiStar® Family of Smart Sensors Pressure/Level Sensors PT2X Pressure / Temperature Smart Sensor with Datalogging An integrated datalogger and pressure/temperature sensor, the AquiStar® PT2X is ideal for monitoring groundwater, well, tank, and tidal levels, as well as for pump testing and flow monitoring. Constructed with 316 stainless steel (or titanium), Viton®,and Teflon®, this sensor provides high accuracy readings (±0.06% FSO typical) in rugged and corrosive field conditions. The PT2X is available in absolute, gauge, and sealed gauge versions in a variety of pressure ranges. Its small diameter (0.75”), low power usage, and dual protocol (Modbus® and SDI-12) make this a very versatile addition to your monitoring instrumentation tool box. PT2X-BV Barometric / Vacuum Smart Sensor with Datalogging The PT2X-BV is an ideal barometric reference for absolute versions of the AquiStar® PT2X pressure sensor. Using the Aqua4Plus Barometric Compensation Utility, conversion of data files from absolute sensors is a snap. Available in either a weatherproof box or 316 stainless steel tube, the PT2X-BV is a 0-16 PSIA (110 kpa) barometric/vacuum sensor built on the PT2X Smart Sensor platform. The tubular version is available with either a standard end cone for submersible applications or a 1/4”NPT end cone for pressure measurements in pipe or vacuum extraction applications. Water Quality Sensors CT2X Conductivity / Pressure Smart Sensor with Datalogging The AquiStar® CT2X Smart Sensor is a submersible conductivity/temperature sensor with built-in datalogging. Incorporating a 4-pole epoxy/graphite electrode cell, this sensor is extremely durable--excellent for use in rugged field conditions. The 4-pole technology reduces fringe field interference errors, lessens inaccuracy caused by polarization effects, and lowers contact resistance problems. Autoranging conductivity unit measures from 10 to 300,000 uS/cm. Linear and non-linear temperature compensation features add flexibility to this sensor. The optional pressure module is available in a wide variety of pressure ranges. Add to all of this its small diameter (0.75”), low power usage, and dual protocol (Modbus® and SDI-12), and you have a very powerful addition to your monitoring instrumentation tool box. TempHion pH/ISE/Redox Smart Sensor with Datalogging The Aquistar® TempHion™ Smart Sensor is a submersible water quality sensor and datalogger capable of measuring pH, specific ions, redox, and temperature. Each unit comes with one thermistor based temperature element plus selected pH, ISE, or redox elements. Like the CT2X and the PT2X, this sensor is noted for its small diameter (0.75”), low power usage, and dual protocol (Modbus® and SDI-12). The TempHion™ can be used for precise single- or multi-well tracer tests, saltwater intrusion tracking, tidal influence studies, wastewater treatment discharge, and pH monitoring. Its patented reference electrode provides long-term stability for continuous or intermittent monitoring, making unattended insitu testing and monitoring possible without frequent calibrations or service. 4 - Instrumentation Northwest - www.inwusa.com AquiStar® Family of Smart Sensors Temperature Sensors T32 1-Wire Temperature Smart Sensor with Datalogging The T32 1-Wire Temperature Sensor is a multi-channel temperature sensor and datalogger, using state-of-the-art 1-Wire technology. The datalogger is housed in a 0.75 inch diameter submerisble tube. The 1-Wire temperature sensing units are embedded in cable at user specified locations, up to 32 units per datalogger tube. The T32 is great almost anywhere you need to measure temperature—whether it be in a lake, in a tank, or in a well. It is especially good for profiling temperature variations at different levels. T8 Thermistor Temperature Smart Sensor with Datalogging The T8 Temperature Sensor is a multi-channel temperature sensor and datalogger, using thermistor technology. The datalogger is housed in a small weatherproof box. The thermistors are embedded in strings of multi-conductor cable at user specified locations, up to 8 thermistors per datalogger. A variety of thermistors are available to meet various temperature and resolution requirements. The T8 is great almost anywhere you need to measure temperature—whether it be in a lake, in a tank, or in a well. It is especially good for profiling temperature variations at different levels. Datalogger GDL Multi-channel Datalogger The AquiStar® GDL Multi-channel Datalogger is an excellent bridge between your analog sensors and the power of the digital world. The GDL runs under the same powerful, easyto-use software as our Smart Sensor series—extending to your own analog sensors the same networking, programming, display, and export capabilities that have made our Smart Sensor series so popular. The GDL has two temperature, one milli-volt, two voltage, two 4-20 mA, and up to eight digital channels, depending on configuration. Measure temperature, level, dissolved oxygen, flow, rainfall, turbidity, and more. An internal AA alkaline battery pack supplies 12 VDC to the GDL and optionally to connected sensors. Solar and line power options are available where more power is required. In addition to INW’s software, use standard Modbus® RTU or SDI-12 equipment to easily read the GDL, so as to tie into your existing networks. Combine your analog sensors, a GDL, several AquiStar Smart Sensors, and our WaveData wireless technology for an extremely powerful and versatile data acquisition system.
