The Spring Fiber Fling is an
educational event focused on fiber and
the process from “Sheep to Shawl”. It
will be a weekend event with various
activities for you to take part in, learn,
and purchase anything from art
supplies to finished handmade
products. We will have different
livestock expos and demonstrations

(handmade items). We will then have
another building set up as classrooms
where you can sign up to take various classes. Our instructors will be
teaching different skill sets at different experience levels. This year we
are excited to offer 14 classes over the weekend. Spaces are filling up

Tickets for Admission

Our goal is to have 5 buildings and outdoor
spaces both set up with antique and collectible
vendors, direct sale vendors, artisans with hand
crafted items, and everyone who would like to
take part in the garage sales. There will also be
an outdoor area for people to set up cars,
campers, boats and other large items they are
trying to sell. It will be a one stop shop for
people from our community to come and spend
a day finding good deals and fun items to
purchase.
Events such as these assist in the up keep and
maintenance of the grounds year round and
help bring in more family fun activities during
our fair and other new events during the year.

Tickets for Sale!
Volunteers Needed!!!
The 2016 McHenry County Fair is just around the
corner! Skip the lines and plan ahead by
purchasing pre-sale tickets!
In order for the fair to flow correctly we depend on
other non-profit organizations who would like to fund
raise through us by volunteering their time. In our
ticket booths we have a couple groups that come in
and volunteer their time and in return their groups get
a donation from the McHenry County Fair
Association. Each shift requires 10 volunteers from
the organization. Everyone who works the ticket
booth also receives free entry to the fair for the day.
If you or an organization you know is interested in
this opportunity please contact the office to save a
space today!
Now through Sunday, July 31st log on to our
website to buy pre-sale tickets at a discounted
price for the fair! We are offering one day adult
admission tickets at $5 each and week long
season passes at $20 each until June 1st and then
adult admission tickets at $6 each and week long
season passes at $20 each until July 31st. We
also have tickets for the Grandstand events for
sale online as well.
You can also purchase a wristband for Skinners
Amusement Carnival. The wristbands are for
unlimited rides from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on one
day, either Wednesday, Thursday OR Friday of
fair week. The presale price for the wristband is
$15 and can be purchased online. If you miss the
presale tickets no worries! You can still take part
in the unlimited rides by purchasing the
wristband straight from Skinners Amusement’s
ticket booth for $20.
PRE ORDER 2016 SOUVENIRS
There are two different areas that you can pre
order our 2016 T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and pins. If
you are an exhibitor you can choose to pre-order
when doing your online registration on our
website. If you are not an exhibitor you can still
pre order by clicking on the “A Day at the Fair”
page and clicking on “Purchase Tickets.” Either
option will open up a second page where you
can complete your transaction. Souvenirs can
then be picked up in the office.
Since this partnership has worked so well in the past
with the gates we have decided that we would like to
start a program to help with keeping the grounds
clean and beautiful during the fair. In exchange for
your help, the association will make a donation to your
group as a fundraiser. Each member you bring in to
work will be paid $6.50 an hour and each shift is
three hours long. The amount that each volunteer
makes will all be added together and make up your
donation. You may bring in a maximum of ten
volunteers per shift. You will also receive free
admission to the Fair for that entire day. If you are
interested in volunteering, the grounds cleanup shift
times are as follows:
Wednesday 1pm, and 6pm; Thursday 8am, 1pm,
and 6pm; Friday 8am, 12pm, 3pm, and 6pm;
Saturday 8am, 12pm, 3pm, and 6pm; Sunday 8am,
12pm, and 4pm
We hope that your organization will be interested in
this partnership. We appreciate your assistance in
helping us keep our fairgrounds beautiful and we
look forward in supporting your organization. If you
have any further questions, or would like to sign up
for a shift please feel free to contact the office at 815338-5315.
There will be lots of other ways to get involved as a
volunteer with the fair. We will have a page on our
website with all of the information and a way to
register if you are interested. Check back in June to
see a full list.
Hope to see you at the fair!
